- Step 1 when boosting your car: Take care of all maintenance that needs to be done prior to adding more power to the engine.
In today's video we replaced the idler pulley, tensioner pulley, drive belt, oil pressure switch, thermostat gasket & inner CV axle boot to get the Civic back to mint mechanical shape before we start modding this thing!
This CX Racing turbo kit is going to be wild! I am so excited :)
Hope you guys enjoyed the video!

Thanks Mateo! This things gonna be a ripper 😈
Its good seeing being kept real. Glad its sorted
Always 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Me and the boy living the same life lol working on these little 8th gens till 1am getting up at 3😂
Love hate relationship at this point 😅
Respect
The issue with the gates tensioner assembly is an engineering one not a manufacturing issue; they're engineered in Colorado. TREMEC transmissions are engineered and manufactured in Mexico and they're some of the best out there.
Yeah whoever engineered that tensioner shouldn’t ever engineer a tensioner again 😅
Jack stands bro, especially by your self in the shop it can kill you…..
make sure when you do that passenger axel "next time" just take a hammer and extension tap the extension with a hammer it will pop out a lot easier than using a pry bar @13:55 to the right of your finger "away from bearing" is where you put the extension you'll never have to remove the carrier bearing ever again lol super easy
Man an hours sleep 💀
Just an FYI to make it easier in the future, you dont half to pull the halfshaft (steady bearing as you called it) to remove the passenger side axle. Just slide a pry bar between them both and with a bit of a tug it will pop right out
I was thinking the same thing when i saw what he did , way easier to leave in the halfshaft
I tried prying the living hell out of it & could not get it to pop out if my life depended on it. That worked on my buddy’s RSX, but on this 8th Gen it seemed like it was part of the axle so I didn’t think they separated 🤷🏻I’ll try harder next time 😅
@@DanielKellert could possibly be seazed some how , you do live where it snows so that could cause to jam up more than somewhere with no snow , posdibly PB blaster would help if there is some rust for next time
Very tight in that engine bay. Difficult to change out my header
I believe it’s easier to do it from under the car
Impressive - also live in Calgary so can relate.
Im trying to boost my fg2 aswell ill keep up with this series! appreciate it!
More install videos coming! Just waiting on the hondata, map sensor & boost controller to show up 🤙🏼
Following the build 🤝🏼
Let’s go 🔥
I need episode 3 now
This weekend 🤪
@@DanielKellert bet 😈
@@DanielKellert had an 02 wrx sedan full stage 3 got hit in my college parking lot just got my settlement looking at an 8th gen si watched your head unit video, is it truly worth the 600$ usd
@@liamaustin8123 Can’t go wrong with an 8th Gen 🔥 most reliable car I’ve ever owned…. & now I’m boosting it 😅 I have the idoing unit in my 8th Gen & my WRX. I love em!
be careful jackings cars up like that man
Honestly, I cant believe me and you are the only ones to notice. Fuck that, thats a dangerous game
@@brandosti8809 jack at max height lmfao
You can remove the center cowl and gain more acess on your car
I will be removing the wiper cowl when I put the turbo kit in for sure 😅
What city in Alberta do you live in? I'm in calgary hahah small world
Edmonton area 🙌🏼
was going to SUB to your channel but once you mentioned about the tensione being made in Mexico is the reason its a bad part was a really racist thing to say how would you feel if i said only a Canadian would say some stupid thing like that
Most of the parts made in Canada are shit, so I wouldn’t be offended at all. When was the last time you saw a parts box that says “made in Canada?” Literally never 😅 Why the hell would I be offended if a company made a shitty part that says it was manufactured in the country I live in? Gates used to be a quality brand with everything coming out of Japan. You clearly misinterpreted this. The idler pulley that was made in Canada already failed, so call me racist if you want, but any parts not manufactured in Japan or USA are shit 😂. I usually don’t respond to stuff like this, but this one was crazy.
Too many safety no no's. Why no stands and excess height/tilt. Plus driving and working w/no sleep!!!😢😢 Slow down and live longer.
How many miles on the engine?
200k km or around 125k miles. We will see if a high mileage k20 can handle the sauce 🤌🏼
