  • Step 1 when boosting your car: Take care of all maintenance that needs to be done prior to adding more power to the engine.
    In today's video we replaced the idler pulley, tensioner pulley, drive belt, oil pressure switch, thermostat gasket & inner CV axle boot to get the Civic back to mint mechanical shape before we start modding this thing!
    This CX Racing turbo kit is going to be wild! I am so excited :)
    Hope you guys enjoyed the video!

    The issue with the gates tensioner assembly is an engineering one not a manufacturing issue; they're engineered in Colorado. TREMEC transmissions are engineered and manufactured in Mexico and they're some of the best out there.

    • @DanielKellert
      @DanielKellert  4 месяца назад

      Yeah whoever engineered that tensioner shouldn’t ever engineer a tensioner again 😅

    make sure when you do that passenger axel "next time" just take a hammer and extension tap the extension with a hammer it will pop out a lot easier than using a pry bar @13:55 to the right of your finger "away from bearing" is where you put the extension you'll never have to remove the carrier bearing ever again lol super easy

  • @robracesandrebuilds6499
    @robracesandrebuilds6499 Год назад +4

    Man an hours sleep 💀
    Just an FYI to make it easier in the future, you dont half to pull the halfshaft (steady bearing as you called it) to remove the passenger side axle. Just slide a pry bar between them both and with a bit of a tug it will pop right out

    • @j_zales1390
      @j_zales1390 Год назад +1

      I was thinking the same thing when i saw what he did , way easier to leave in the halfshaft

    • @DanielKellert
      @DanielKellert  Год назад +1

      I tried prying the living hell out of it & could not get it to pop out if my life depended on it. That worked on my buddy’s RSX, but on this 8th Gen it seemed like it was part of the axle so I didn’t think they separated 🤷🏻I’ll try harder next time 😅

      @@DanielKellert could possibly be seazed some how , you do live where it snows so that could cause to jam up more than somewhere with no snow , posdibly PB blaster would help if there is some rust for next time

    was going to SUB to your channel but once you mentioned about the tensione being made in Mexico is the reason its a bad part was a really racist thing to say how would you feel if i said only a Canadian would say some stupid thing like that

    • @DanielKellert
      @DanielKellert  4 месяца назад

      Most of the parts made in Canada are shit, so I wouldn’t be offended at all. When was the last time you saw a parts box that says “made in Canada?” Literally never 😅 Why the hell would I be offended if a company made a shitty part that says it was manufactured in the country I live in? Gates used to be a quality brand with everything coming out of Japan. You clearly misinterpreted this. The idler pulley that was made in Canada already failed, so call me racist if you want, but any parts not manufactured in Japan or USA are shit 😂. I usually don’t respond to stuff like this, but this one was crazy.

      200k km or around 125k miles. We will see if a high mileage k20 can handle the sauce 🤌🏼
