Good work. That coolant didn’t look good - very rusty. This is the next job on my 924 also. I have similar compression variances as you, hopefully it’s just the valves that need lapping.
Thank you! Yeah, very rusty indeed. That's what I hope as well. Give it a good clean, valve lapping, all seals and gaskets change and some paint and zinc plating.
Great Video! At 2:50 at the lower right corner above the radiator is a connection for a large hose, but most 924 I've seen are missing this hose (mine included). Do you know where this hose goes to? I've seen pictures of some with the hose but could never really see where it was going.
Thank you for watching! Not sure which bolts you mean... I have a separate video on transmission/ transaxle removal. Anyway, a bit of heat and big air impact can handle any bolt. Toughest bolts are ones that are hard to reach.
@@RestorationApprentice What I actually meant was the bellhousing bolts! I shall follow your video in preparation for when I remove my engine for a clutch change and main seals change.

Good work 😉
Thank you!
Beau travail mon ami. Bonne continuation
Thank you, my friend!

Hats off to you! That's a big step. Are you going to refresh all the fasteners as part of the restoration?
Thank you, of course!
How did you get the clutch cable off the arm holding it in place? Can't figure it out
Once you loosen nut shown around 11 minute mark it just unhooks.
Great Video!

Thank you! Do you mean the yellow plastic tube? It's should connect via flexible tube to alternator housing... It's used to air cool the alternator.
@@RestorationApprentice ah nice good to know
Hose goes to alternator for cooling
Such a shame there is so much hypocrisy about this auto...it's fundamentally a great entry sports machine...
Yeah, I really like it too.
This makes it look easy. Was it hard to removed the gearbox bolts?
