    I gotta say thank you for uploading these videos. I decided to take on a 78 924 as my first restore to fill in my time. Having a blast doing it and your videos have helped alot along the way.

      @@RestorationApprentice I'm just glad to see you doing this. The 924 gets very little love. Plenty of videos about the 944 and how to work on it, very little out there about 924 issues. I spent months trying to figure out the fuel system.

    I am happy to be able to see your video again after 5 months.
    In the meantime, congratulations on reaching 1000 subscribers.
    I'm also working hard to restore my 924 body for 2-3 hours a day, but now I think I've done about half of the whole process.
    The rust removal work is truly endless.
    I'm really looking forward to your engine rebuild work.

    You could change the alternator like the 924 turbo position! Is more easy to access

      Some times you have to go back and fourth tighten loosen back and fourth ...you can find some of these at salvage yards it's getting rare now

    • @RestorationApprentice

      From all around the world, but mostly Germany. I use parts cataloge for parts numbers and find cheapest prices for the parts that I need.

    hey Armin, just picked up a '79 924na today! with all the work you are doing especially with the engine rebuild are you working to a manual like the Haynes guide or are you just following your nose?

    • @RestorationApprentice
      @RestorationApprentice  Год назад

      Hi! I'm working from manuals and other online sources as I'm rebuilding an engine for the first time. Hopefully folks doing it for the first time will find my videos helpfull and have all 924 information in one place.

    Awesome, I’ve been waiting to see when you would tackle the engine. Looks like it probably led a hard life, noticed that there were quite a few non-factory clamps scattered about. Will you be Vapor blasting the aluminum parts?

    • @RestorationApprentice
      @RestorationApprentice  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching, Jeff! I think I'm going to start painting aluminium parts, it's most consistent and budget friendly thing I can do to make it look really nice.

    how many miles did this engine have out of curiosity ?

    • @RestorationApprentice
      @RestorationApprentice  10 месяцев назад

      I don't remember... But I guess it doesn't matter as the car was severly neglected. Fuel fiter on it was from 1999!

    We need part 2, when?
    When seeing the 924 (Audi engine) makes me like my 944 2.5L engine even more.
    Do you know some history of the car/engine you are rebuilding?

      @@RestorationApprentice Can you tell us more about the history of the car/engine? The engine looks like it had a rough life.

    • @RestorationApprentice
      @RestorationApprentice  2 года назад

      Oh, you meant this particular car? I thought you were talking about 924 in general. About this car...I have no idea, I only know is sat for a long time and it wasn't taken care of properly. For example fuel filter on it was over 20 years old.
