Hey! Yeah, that’s where mine leaks. I just got mine in June, and it is a pain. It seemed like it was due to deterioration of the adhesive on the Velcro tape. (Which has again been installed only a few months). Looking for a solution. Love your content.
Just found your channel. I love this setup. I found a video that had an added room called "the sportsman". It's from ez topper but I can't seem to find it on their website. We have four small children and with that extra room we would be able to put their bunk bed on the ground and the Other bunkbed inside the truck. And then leave enough room for my wife and I's bed
Leaks, ya I was curious about this. Ez topper should make a outside skirt to prevent it. I simple velcro around the outside of the cap on the edge with same material as inside piece would work.. is that black mold on the wood. That will kill you
It doesn’t leak bad enough to concern us and only in heavy rain. I am not sure what you thought was mold but it’s definitely not. It’s either the stamping on the wood or random black paint overspray.
Can you move the lower portion of the tarp to the outside of the truck and use neodymium magnets to attach canvas to outer bed sides to direct water away from the inside? Maybe bungy rope. Do you even need the tent windows? What diffrence would a solid panel make?
I dont see why that wouldnt work. Wont hurt to try I guess. If you do and it works let me know. The tent windows have a fine mesh screen in them so you can open the full window or leave the screen closed. We use them a lot for light and fresh air.
Have you waterproofed the fabric at all? You mention it gets damp on the inside I think waterproofing the fabric would help a lot if you haven’t done that already. I really like this setup just need to find a topper first.
We didn’t waterproof the fabric. It’s the same type of material as a boat cover so it’s pretty water resistant already. Most of what gets damp on the inside is the topper itself from condensation. Good luck with your set up and thanks for watching.
I’m just installing a topper lift. It seems to go up just fine but on the way down, just as the topper touches the truck, it pulls with lots of force on the topper actuator foot brackets. Worried it pull away from the truck foot. Do you experience anything like that?
The shocks hold it closed and tight to the truck. It seems very secure and I dont foresee any issues with not having clamps. However one of our followers asked about how it would hold up with a lot of side to side movement while doing heavy off roading. I think in that type of driving I may throw some clamps on just for added piece of mind.
Tks for updates and long term real world reviews. Really appreciate. 👌🏾👌🏾
just bought a truck with a ez topper, your vids have been super helpful in planning my set up, keep it up
Thank you and thanks for watching. We plan on keeping everyone up to date so don’t forget to subscribe.

answers my question. thanks
Does the truck shell clamp to the truck, or just the shocks hold it closed?

When you buy the package does it come with the shell?
No you need your own topper.
Good idea.
What mph of wind do you estimate would be an issue?
I really dont anticipate wind to be an issue. It would have to be a lot in order for me to worry about anything.
too much money for this system when it is so vulnerable.
