We left mainland North Carolina and took the Cedar River Ferry and the Hatteras Ferry to the Outerbanks. It was a beautiful ride up highway 12 to Nags Head. We spent the next few days hang gliding at Jockey’s Ridge State Park and enjoying the many beaches along the national seashore. Gerolsteiner is a 10 for me. That one is actually the best mineral water in that group. The fact that they gave it such a low rating ends this video for me right there.👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
He's right it's not in the mineral category
Topper lift bad ass whats the price for this system
When you were inside showing the lift and tent, sounds like you have a puppy wanting attention. Oh, at the 11:20 mark I see the Yorkie.
Great video! I've got a 5 foot bed frontier and I'm looking at this same set up. What bed size is your tacoma?
That's a great little park to walk around in the spring! Hope you've been getting a lot of use with that Hornbeck.
Be prepared for black flies, in the spring🪰
Do you deer hunt this area? I've been thinking about a wall tent hunt in there. Thoughts?
I have a chevy avalanche with a topper and I'm going to start planning something like that, but in the avalanche you can access to the rest of the truck. Thanks for making this video!
😂😂 LOVE the quick shot to her face! “Speak for yourself that we don’t need a bathroom!” 💜💜💜💜💜
Where is this spot looks very cool
Can’t wait to visit this area great video
How long was the bus ride from Montego Bay to the resort?
Put some helper bags in the back for weight
ThTs legit can u mount a truck topper ten on top
Allagash, Fort Kent, Madawaska and Frenchville are nice, but Eagle Lake is better!
too much money for this system when it is so vulnerable.
Topo chico is the best hands down
I wonder if you could power the lift with a Jackery? Any reason a large tarp thrown over topper and secured to the sides while camping wouldn't work? Can you tell me how many inches this adds.....from the side rails to the bottom edge of the topper....Thanks so much:)
Great video, found you while shopping for Hornbeck boats..what hammock is that? The bug netting on it looks great. Have fun! 🇨🇦
Quality review!
I’m just installing a topper lift. It seems to go up just fine but on the way down, just as the topper touches the truck, it pulls with lots of force on the topper actuator foot brackets. Worried it pull away from the truck foot. Do you experience anything like that?
I appreciate your TopperLift videos, thanks for making them. I have the same truck, tacoma 2nd gen long bed, so ypur videos really do help to visualize the goal I have in mind. I have a aluminum contractors cap to use with the TopperLift. I'll need the Weekender model, as I'm very tall and need that extra room that the lowered tailgate gives to the inside space of the truck bed area. Your measurements and installation tips you gave in the other Installation and review video were very helpful. Thanks very much for making and posting these videos, it's helping me with determining if I can utilize the TopperLift. 👍
Great review! Thanks.
The campsites in the interior area start about 7 miles past the gates then they are scattered all through some several miles apart.
What is the interior height?
beautiful memories Tks for sharing. Gotta get this trip in.
Tks for updates and long term real world reviews. Really appreciate. 👌🏾👌🏾

I would like to buy just just the 4 elevators (and controll) and install by myself. Is it available do sell?
Yes. Its a self install kit with very easy directions to follow.
Thank you. How was the install in the composite bed?
It was fine, no trouble at all with any part of the install. I would recommend doing the best job you can with the Velcro, poor Velcro installation will cause leaks. I used adhesive promoter on all the services and made sure everything was clean first.
@@mirroredsouls888 Thank you, I had one of only two of the original EZ Lifts with the Annex in Snow Camo on my 2001 Silverado. It was sold with the pickup. I loved that thing. I have a 2011 Tacoma now. I’m trying to figure out which way to go with a camping setup for it. I greatly appreciate your feedback. BTW, my wife gives the same look about a bathroom! LoL
Have been there three times over the years. Great seclusion, privacy. Moose river is there too. Little brook behind my camp was full of little Trout.
…. Silver Run or Payne Brook
@@terryatpi Sorry, don't have my map handy. Coming in from the east, a few miles in after the sign-in at gate on the left was where I camped. Brook right behind the spot. In the plains area. Haven't been back in a number of years now.
@@dabprod probably silver run. Boulder strewn little creek all covered in moss. Just beautiful up there. I sure miss it. Thanks for the reply. Terry
What is that moaning sound when you were in the camper?
The moaning sound is our dog whining lol. I had to go back in watch it again, I never noticed that. He always tries to steal the show. Thanks for watching.
@@mirroredsouls888 thank you for the video 🙏
When parked and there is heavy wind do the lifting struts hold there own?
Yea, we dont have any issues in the wind. The struts are heavy duty and the fabric does a great job of blocking out the weather.
That thing is slick.
We enjoyed your video. We have one on our Tacoma as well but have had some issues that we thought you may have solved. We used the activtor as well as some more from Amazon, and after installig the whole rig, found out that the velcro doe not adlhere to the Tacoma bed or to the aluminnum camper top. It peels off when raisin or lowering. Did you have any problems like this? Solutions. Thank you, Joe and Sarah
Hey guys,, sorry you had issues like that. The only problem we had was the velcro peeling away but it doesnt sound like as bad as your issue. Every spring I pull of any parts of the velcro that are bad and redo that piece. I use a light sand paper to rough up the surface a bit just to give the adhesive more to grip to and always use the adhesive promotor. If your problem is that bad I would tear it all off, buy new velcro and start over. Make sure the surfaces are all clean first and use a good adhesive promotor. Good luck and happy travels. Bill and Danelle
Hey! Yeah, that’s where mine leaks. I just got mine in June, and it is a pain. It seemed like it was due to deterioration of the adhesive on the Velcro tape. (Which has again been installed only a few months). Looking for a solution. Love your content.
Me and my dad visit the outerbanks and we take the same ferry ride to visit ocracoke also for summer vacation
This is what I'm looking for!!!
🇨🇺🤲🇵🇷
Hi, enjoyed your vid. I was on the topper lift website and couldnt find whether or not a person can drive with the topper in the lifted position. For example if you raise it to fit a couch or chair in it to help move someones fueniture to another house.
I found somewhere when I was researching before I bought it that said its not meant to drive with the topper up. The hardware and struts are very sturdy but I dont think I would be comfortable driving with it up. Thanks for watching.
Great video! I've watched this and a couple of your others. I have the same gen Tacoma with a Leer topper as well. I've installed the system and so far I love it. When you're not using it, what do you do with the two back door pieces? In the video you just fold them up and shut the tailgate and topper window. But do you also remove either or both and put them away? Do you roll up the top part like Todd does in the install video? I can't seem to get the top part exactly right in order to easily roll it up like the install video shows. My topper is carpeted and I'm also concerned with the putting in and taking out of the pieces over time - I'm afraid the velcro is going to cause the carpeting to start pulling away from the topper fiberglass over time. Any thoughts? Thanks again for your videos!
Thank you! We take all the fabric off for the winter and store it away. Usually during the summer months we just fold the back pieces up and tuck them in. I am not familiar with Todd so I am not sure. I know its easier to tuck away with the door un zippered, and I roll the bottom part up and push it up on the bed. I carpeted the topper myself and so far its held well so I wouldnt worry to much about your carpet pulling off but I agree its best to not keep removing the velcro.
@@mirroredsouls888 Cool, thanks!! Todd's the owner of TopperLift. They guy in their videos. I've called a few times with questions and often I end up talking to him. He's really helpful. I have a follow up question. In your video, I can see the shelf you've installed around the 7m30sec mark. How did you anchor those hooks into the topper? Is there a method for attaching things to the ceiling of a topper without going through to the exterior? Thanks again!
@@wilmotf16 the canoe rack is bolted through the topper with a bushing and nut inside the topper. I just bought threaded rod couplings and screwed them into the threads of the canoe rack bolts then screwed threaded eye hooks into the other end of the coupler. I put eye hooks on the back set of the canoe rack as well, we made a little gear hammock that we connect to them length wise. Its works good for sweatshirts or PJ’s, light things like that.
@@mirroredsouls888 Ah, okay. That's ingenious. I don't have anything bolted to the topper to work with. I'll have to think of something else to do. I'd love some shelves like that!
Great video .
Neat rig I like it
I'll stay with my Napier 57 series tent and the Napier canvas set ups
I was told to get a down underquilt and over quilt with some sort of sleeping pad if you didn't wanna tote that big heavy battery around
Nice but easy Access for a bear.
Yea, we try and keep food items out of the sleeping area and the dogs are good at warning us of intruders. So far we havent had any critters bothering us. We have spent nights in tents and hammocks and many others do as well. Be safe and respect nature and you wont have any problems.
What size mattress do you all use? Would a full sized mattress that's 52" across be able to squeeze in around the actuators?
In my Tacoma its 4 feet between the actuators. We use a futon mattress that fits our full size sheets. Our mattress squeezes in ok, as long as yours isnt too stiff I would think it would work.
