This case you had some modules were .7v lower than the highest why not to replace only those modules are out side the scales , next question sorry for too much asking, what is the Porcentaje of voltage differences in between the highest= good to the lowest .4v? What Porcentaje 12% soc from nominal voltage or from máx voltage? Thanks
Hola Jose, how did you come up with 6.5 v as a discharge unit talking about measurement? Does it tell you in the torque app what voltage you should discharge at? Gracias gracias
Hello Jose thank you for all your amazing video. would like to ask you about my Prius 2011 I have a problem with the hybrid system it shows me on the screen the message check the hybrid system and I have the engine light on when I do restarat taken off the cable from the inverter for 10 minutes it comes normal for almost 4 -5 days and after that its come back agin I went to Toyota they told me I needed to change the battery . could please advise me what shall I do .thank you
Just refurbished a pack, and am still getting the same p0a80 code, along with the shutting off of the prius hybrid system. On the dr. Prius battery test, everything checks out, and it says I have 85% battery life. The delta soc is @ 0% the bat Temps stay @ 98-102 degrees while driving around. The voltage diff is around .20v while driving, all block resistances are either 24 or 25. The cumulative delta voltage is from 1.5 in the middle of the pack to 2.8 on the sides of the pack. (Not sure what the norm is for this one). The things that are sus, is 1. Hybrid system shuts off every few hrs of driving. 2. While decelerating, pack voltage spikes to 270v. 3. Block 6 does not move up and down. It just stays at the same spot most of the time, while all others are rising and falling constantly. Is block 6 my problem here?
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics just looked at it again. The cumulative delta voltage is the new feature in dr prius app. My range is 3.8-4.8 while I'm driving around. As far as I understand it's the difference between a fully charged module to a discharged module. Should that really be under 1.2v? What is the norm?
So I just installed an OEM HB straight from Toyota, picked up myself MFG date OCT, 2024 from PRIMEATH ENERGY LTD. also replaced the cooling fan and filter so everything is clean. Hi Jose, I have a 2020 C-HR Hybrid, bought the OBD2 adapter and Dr. Prius. Did the Full test and the Life exp. test, all passed. Bank Volt diff max 0.05v. All cell banks are good, SOC max 56%. Hi. Please answer this question 🙏! I used the torque app on my prius. The car showed me the code P0A80. I clear the code. When I used the torque app and I tried to measure the lowest voltage, it goes up to -330 (negative 330). Am I doing something wrong?
Why are there battery issues on such a new Hybrid Synergy battery? I have a 2004 Prius and the (NIMH) battery only failed at 160K/16 years. When it failed, with the red triangle of death, both Torque and Dr Prius clearly show that some of the 14 pairs voltage are worse. I pulled the battery and worked on all the individual modules (keeping them in the rails). The several that were below 7v I couldn't improve with DSCH-CHG cycles. The others were improved. I would NOT do anything inside the battery until the battery is red triangle or below 50% on a proper Dr Prius life expectancy test.
Smaller batteries like prius c or aqua give loose capacity a little faster specially here in the caribbean ☝️💥💥💥💥💥💥... hot weather as well as lack of service is the main reason
Is there a video which shows how to set up Torque Pro to diagnose & troubleshoot P0A80 code? Seems a lot of people are asking for this but I have searched high and low and cannot find a Prius-specific overview re: how to set up views required to find out where the problem was. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What could be an issue, what you think it could be inverter?? Your kind feedback will help me to understand it. Many thanks
What does it mean if one block isnt changing voltage? All the other ones are fluctuating up and down, block 6 is staying in one spot. Also, when doing life expectancy test, the test stops when my charge level drops to 57%... why does it stop the test? Its supposed to discharge it to 40% isnt it? My guess is that I have a bad module in block 6. The rest of the battery is still fine, so there is more charge, but one of the modules in block 6 drained faster than others, and it stops the life expectancy test. Could that be it?
I have had this vehicle for almost 4 years already, and in the last 2 years I have noticed the battery not lasting as long as it used to. Keep the originals... those lithiums are still under observation from my behalf ☝😎... many cased with bad modules in less than a year so... mmmnnnn better hold on for some time...
In the country you live in, will the Toyota dealer sell you a new pack for $1950 U.S. dollars? Some here in San Diego will, and some won't , and some want more money. Because of a battery shortage, some dealers want to reserve their new batteries for the service dept, where they will make more money ($3400) installing the battery. I've had poor luck getting good batteries off of E-Bay. The last seller scratched off the manufacturing date. So I prefer to find a low mileage 2015 pack from a junkyard for about $800 and test those modules, especially for IR.
Check out Green Bean. They swap out battery packs for about $1500 when I did it last year. Had the Red Triangle 🔺️ of death. They came today and gave me another battery. I have free replacements for life. Looking at the data, the "new" battery does not look much better, but hey they will replace it when it fails too.
Probably the best video on the subject I have seen to date. I will have to watch it again to take it all in again. Mahalo!

Looking at the data, the "new" battery does not look much better, but hey they will replace it when it fails too.
thanks for the valuable info. i would ask what kind reader for you to diagnosis battery test like what you do
