Hi Jose, I have a 2020 C-HR Hybrid, bought the OBD2 adapter and Dr. Prius. Did the Full test and the Life exp. test, all passed. Bank Volt diff max 0.05v. All cell banks are good, SOC max 56%. I had a few times during the charging, the pack volts and banks went to RED. I wanted to pull the pack and service it but that would void the warranty. The warranty is finishing very soon, is there a way to get a service or repair from Toyota under warranty?

Hello sir ... thanks for a nice video ... I have gone through a tough time this month ... I purhased a second hand japanese made Toyota Axio Hybrid Fielder 2014 in last December. This car had a Nickel Hydride battery installed in it and that too has a cell replaced. I have been told by various technicians that to repalce the battery with a used one but of latest models. Hence I have purchased a used battery but this time Lithum of 2020 model of a toyota hybrid car. The reason was that the newer ones are too expensive. I want now to test the old and a newer battery myself. What tools do you recommend or do you use? Please let me know so that once for all I satisfy myself and many others too. the tools such as volt meter, battery capacity tester, battery charger, battery balencer etc. thanks in advance sir. also sir could you please tell me how to know when a lithium battery was made by seeing on it or by reading the product code?

hola jose! gracias por tus videos son de mucha ayuda, tengo un 2007 camry hybrid el cual no puedo hacer que funcione correctamente, mi scanner me dice que block 2 y 3 no funcionan, ok, los cambio pero no resolvio el problema, los cambio de nuevo y esta vez remuevo todas las celdas y hago un load test, reemplazo todas las celdas mas bajas, las balanceo, todas marcan 8.2 volts, instalo todo de nuevo asegurando de limpiar terminales,etc nuevas bus bars y tuercas, y resulta que no se resuelve mi problema, uso dr prius y cuando monitoreo la bateria los bloques 2 y 3 suben y bajan en verde pero bajan hasta abajo en rojo, que puedo hacer? la luz roja en el dashboard ahora prende y apaga en intervalos de 10 seguntos mas o menos. gracias por tu ayuda.

Exactly what we doing in this video… check the DTC to document then clear it, and finally do the voltage drop test…
I came here because scanner Danner, you have wonderful material, I have a question on this battery you recommended complete pack does not qualify for balancing, my question is the following 14.4 volts is nominal voltage = 50% soc? So I. This case you had some modules were .7v lower than the highest why not to replace only those modules are out side the scales , next question sorry for too much asking, what is the Porcentaje of voltage differences in between the highest= good to the lowest .4v? What Porcentaje 12% soc from nominal voltage or from máx voltage? Thanks
14.4 is 40% SOC.
Voltage diff over 6% will trigger P0a80 DTC.

Hola Jose, how did you come up with 6.5 v as a discharge unit talking about measurement? Does it tell you in the torque app what voltage you should discharge at? Gracias gracias
It should actually be 6v for a better and accurate measurement
What does it mean if one block isnt changing voltage? All the other ones are fluctuating up and down, block 6 is staying in one spot.
Also, when doing life expectancy test, the test stops when my charge level drops to 57%... why does it stop the test? Its supposed to discharge it to 40% isnt it?
My guess is that I have a bad module in block 6. The rest of the battery is still fine, so there is more charge, but one of the modules in block 6 drained faster than others, and it stops the life expectancy test. Could that be it?

Clearing the code is actually a very big mistake and will kill the battery even faster 👊🤨
Why are there battery issues on such a new Hybrid Synergy battery? I have a 2004 Prius and the (NIMH) battery only failed at 160K/16 years. When it failed, with the red triangle of death, both Torque and Dr Prius clearly show that some of the 14 pairs voltage are worse. I pulled the battery and worked on all the individual modules (keeping them in the rails). The several that were below 7v I couldn't improve with DSCH-CHG cycles. The others were improved. I would NOT do anything inside the battery until the battery is red triangle or below 50% on a proper Dr Prius life expectancy test.
Smaller batteries like prius c or aqua give loose capacity a little faster specially here in the caribbean ☝️💥💥💥💥💥💥... hot weather as well as lack of service is the main reason

Jose, I have a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, are there any pics for this vehicle in the Torque app?
I have had this vehicle for almost 4 years already, and in the last 2 years I have noticed the battery not lasting as long as it used to. I have taken the vehicle to 3 different Hyundai dealerships and they cannot diagnose unless there is a trouble code. I would also like to find a high voltage charger for balancing the battery just in case that is the problem. Can you recommend a charger that has over 270 volt capability?

How do we maintain our batteries, change the oil so to say on a regular basis? Should we move the modules around to share the heat in the middle with all the modules by moving them around every year? Is there an easy way to get airflow into the battery module area for cooling? Thanks for the video.

Thank you for your content. Quick question. Can someone disconnect the hybrid battery? Will this prevent parasitic draw on the 210 volt battery if you don't drive it for 6 month and will it still be as strong as the last time you used when you reconnect it?
Just make sure to disconnect everything and leave the battery charged to 75% ... but if its an old battery it will be better just to recharge before restarting the vehicle...

You can remove the orange interlock near the battery.

What is OBD II name ?
Just refurbished a pack, and am still getting the same p0a80 code, along with the shutting off of the prius hybrid system.
On the dr. Prius battery test, everything checks out, and it says I have 85% battery life. The delta soc is @ 0% the bat Temps stay @ 98-102 degrees while driving around. The voltage diff is around .20v while driving, all block resistances are either 24 or 25. The cumulative delta voltage is from 1.5 in the middle of the pack to 2.8 on the sides of the pack. (Not sure what the norm is for this one).
The things that are sus, is
1. Hybrid system shuts off every few hrs of driving.
2. While decelerating, pack voltage spikes to 270v.
3. Block 6 does not move up and down. It just stays at the same spot most of the time, while all others are rising and falling constantly.
Is block 6 my problem here?
You have a delta over 1.2v my friend… clearly not good at all…
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics just looked at it again. The cumulative delta voltage is the new feature in dr prius app. My range is 3.8-4.8 while I'm driving around.
As far as I understand it's the difference between a fully charged module to a discharged module. Should that really be under 1.2v? What is the norm?

Sounds like #3 and #12 no longer have the capacity required and the computer can sense this lack of capacity, doesn't matter where you switch it to. You have already identified the bad cells. You need to tear down the pack again. Then either cycle the bad ones with the proper charger or replace them.
Hi, i downloaded tourqe pro app and tested battery voltage, block 10 drops voltage to negative 0.3 and jumps right back to normal, and keep doing it every few seconds until i run the test any advice please what could be the problem Thanks

How to be part of the training program on hybrid batteries
When I do drive my car, the Delta SOC always seems to stay at zero. Why would that be? This weekend I got P3000-388. Still trying to figure out what's going on, as the life expectancy test shows 76.47%, in good condition. Full diagnostic said No error code found, all IR normal, Battery temperature normal, upper voltage balance, bottom voltage balance. Another test said Poor balance block#14 but tested again, tested ok.
Do a voltage drop test to each one... it is more accurate...
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics using both Toyota Techstream and Dr Prius, it appears that all blocks are in fairly good shape. Block 6 does seem to run a little lower on average than the other blocks but apparently only by a few millivolts? Not enough to trigger a definite fault. Watching Dr Prius on my way home from work tonight, a 40 minute drive at about 60mph average, SOC stayed around 55-57% with AC and headights on. It was 97 degrees out today. I have an extra battery that appears to be mostly complete except for cooling fan and perhaps something else, although it's been sitting in storage since I got the car 2 years ago. Hopefully it's not hopelessly dead and useless for spare parts now. I'm going to take it apart soon and try charging individual blades. I'm an electrician so have what it takes to work on batteries, that's one of my jobs at work. some of our battery banks at my work are 130 VDC at over 1000AH, and other banks at 480 VDC and 750AH, and my station produces 500kVDC at 3100MW. Fun stuff!
My corolla cross hybrid bypass the full charge, when you press the brake and accelerator at the same time you need to press the accelerator to up to 25% but when you press more than 25% the car still charges, but at a very very current rate
Hello, I replaced 3 battery cells in my 2006 prius. Upon hooking up the bus bars, I had them off on battery terminal and it sparked a couple of times before I could remove it. After connecting it up properly, trying to start the car, it gives me a red triangle of death. My orange relay switch is installed. Could I have damaged my ECM or something else? Use the orange safety plug. It is also the tool used to remove them.
I started with an unbalanced bank #3 and #12. I replace them and the code came back on again performed the full battery check with Dr. Prius and again said unbalanced #3 and #12. Rotated with other cells and again #3 and #12 . HELP PLS!
