    As someone just starting as an adult it is amazing to me how much technique there is in singing
    In retrospect I should have known that but I thought it was something natural so I didn't give it much thought

    I’ve recently started singing and have found your videos really helpful thus far! I was wondering if you could do some videos that are sort of analysis of famous vocalists? Like explaining the techniques you might use to sound similar to them?
    Anyway just a suggestion, and thank you for making all of the high quality content you already have done!

    I had a teacher who was an opera singer and she always had me sing with as open a mouth and narrow (no smiling) of a posture as possible, also very loud, so when I saw you mention “I can’t help falling inlove with you” it made me think of how she taught me automatically set me up for failure . When I’d sing songs at the end of our sessions I’d have to instinctively reject some of her teachings because it sounded so choppy and blocky. I wasn’t aloud to not open my mouth in a huge way, also I did find myself over exaggerating my mouth posture and even over bloating my gut to satisfy her critiques, very stressful. I appreciate growth I had with her but I also feel I mighta had more or the same growth with Anyone else. I also took Brett Manning’s singing success scales on the side and then she noticed I got better and said I just have been practicing.
    She was very sweet but micromanaged and wasn’t really well equipped to reach contemporary songs in my opinion. It also led to me ruining my ears for the better part of a decade bc I was taught to belt my way into higher notes and add nasality, so I ended up with a loud peaky voice. I practiced in my car all the time and the sheer volume was punishment for my ears. I developed tinnitus and hyperacusis.
    I honestly don’t even know what teacher to go to in person , most people don’t really know how to teach multiple styles well, some sound to theatre ish, some too classical, all the stylistic approaches of modern singing or rock seem very elusive to learn.
    I was doing everything she told me but for frankly I wasn’t taught how to implement it in real life scenarios. It was just scales and now sing the song.
    I did sing to f5 and I can go fairly low , I think I might be a baritone but that’s also something she couldn’t tell me .
    Lol.. idk , she was very nice but I just wonder , sometimes I think of going back to her just to develop the power again , I felt with the power came airflow and stylistic choices and I couldn’t pull off aswell if I had a teacher who wouldn’t push me as hard at times.
    Idk , very tough for me to figure out

    Thanks you so much for your videos! I respectfully disagree...i might want to emphasize with you and not the words falling in love......to draw attention to the person im choosing....i'd been in love before but this time with you a totally different type of individual! And i just want to stress that!!

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  11 месяцев назад +1

      Sure, this is entirely your artistic choice as a performer! The reason I did not stress “with you” is because the arc of the musical phrase slopes downward and tapers off. Also, the title of the song is “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Now if “ with you” ended on a big high note, I would certainly stress it more. ☺️. I follow the music. I do discuss Diction in my video on Diction for Singing.
