    If you only have liquid food colouring, you could thicken it up a bit with glycerine. If anyone is into nail stamping, you could possibly use that method too (although you would want to use a new stamp head!)

    • @MuchLoveSara

      Thanks Erin. I love that tip - using the block keeps the stamp from shifting when you are trying to pick it up. You wouldn't believe the cookies I messed up, before I figured that one out!

    Airbrush cleaner will take the food coloring off of your stamp for the most part... sometimes if you let it set too long it leaves a little color behind. I have found that the airbrush cleaner works a lot better cleaning up your stamps than soap and water. I LOVE using stamps for cookies but they are hard to pick back up off the cookies so thank you so much for showing me the clear block!!! I am going to find one today!

    Can we make a regular rubber stamp..? and can we use directly on dough..? Kindly reply..

    • @MuchLoveSara
      @MuchLoveSara  5 лет назад

      Make a stamp? You could, although I'm not familiar with the techniques for making stamps. Or, did you mean use a wood block stamp? I'm not fond of the way the wood block stamps work, because it does not allow for controlled pressure the way the cling rubber stamps do. You could use the stamps directly on the dough, but be aware that your image could warp during baking as the cookie spreads and rises.

    Where do i get the stamps and that block to lift off the stamp?

    • @MuchLoveSara
      @MuchLoveSara  5 лет назад

      There are several companies out there that make the cling rubber stamps, as well as the blocks. I have several companies listed on my blog ( www.muchlovesara.com/p/disclosures.html ). Currently, my preference for clear blocks are the blocks from Spellbinders + FSJ. The FSJ stamps are also the cling rubber that work best for this technique.

    Where are the best places to buy the stamps? Is there a certain brand & type you often use? Do they all stick to the baking when removing from the cookie?

    • @MuchLoveSara
      @MuchLoveSara  4 года назад

      You can buy the stamps from a variety of retailers. I prefer the cling rubber stamps, as i think i get the clearest image from them, but the photopolymer stamps do work. Check with companies when you're buying though, I definitely prefer USA or European made stamps for food projects. Both styles will stick to the acrylic blocks. You can purchase the stamps from a lot of different companies. This online shop sells multiple companies stamps, so you can get a variety. www.ellenhutson.com/#_a_201

    More of an art project than decorating cookies. Making three cookies took you ten plus minutes. Way too time consuming from mixing the dough to letting everything dry. Seriously? It's an art project.

    • @MuchLoveSara
      @MuchLoveSara  5 лет назад +14

      It is certainly a project, but, doing the stamping for this video took quite a bit more time than it would to just stamp out the cookies normally, due to the extra time needed to explain the steps. Stamping is far less time consuming than detailed icing (using royal icing) would be to create a scene. Whether or not you choose to invest the time into it, just depends on how you want the finished cookie to look.
