Carson Fenimore it depends. I was a Aerospace Medical Tech, I did stay on base, but one time i stayed in the field to help them. That was two years ago. I currently stay on base.
Brandon H I was 20 years old when I joined the Army after I worked a full time job for 2 years before I joined. I thought that was good because unlike most that join out of high school they have no idea how to compare military life versus adult civilian life with full time job. I did one enlistment then went back to civilian world. No regrets except I believe I should have joined Navy so I could travel more.
Gentlemen, I personally appreciate your video. I am in the Air National Guard with over 21 years of service. I began as an E-1 and am now an O-4. Kudos to you both for giving us your perspectives and thoughts. I respectfully throw in the Air National Guard (reserve component of the Air Force) into your mix as well. I technically have 4 AFSCs (rates for you Navy folk) and have deployed countless times, not including natural disaster activations and TDYs. I love it and would do it all over again if I could. My little brother just graduated boot camp for Active Duty Air Force and we couldn't be more proud of him. When I was enlisted, I worked closely with the Army being that we both are National Guard members. After almost 13 years enlisted and as an E-5, I finally crossed over to the dark side and became a butter bar. As an officer, I have shared the humble opportunity to lead not only Airmen, but Soldiers, Sailors and Marines as well, being the epitome of the 'Total Force' concept. 2 things I'd like to leave you with; something I tell EVERYONE that I have tutored, mentored, or taught in some way shape or form: 1. NEVER forget where you came from. I'm from the Magnolia Projects in uptown New Orleans and everywhere I go, my home is in and with me. It has helped me to better understand the Iraqis in Nasiriyah and the Bedouins in UAE. 2. (Not meaning any religious offense to anyone) Matthew 7:12- Do unto OTHERS as you would have them do unto YOU. I still put these two boots on everyday not only just in my military duties but my civilian job as well... I salute you gentlemen, thank you for your service and please thank your families for allowing you to serve and supporting both of your respective decisions. :-) Very humbly and respectfully yours

Omg same thing with me!!! I feel like the navy recruiter gave me so much more info but I still don’t know which one to choose! Which one did you go with?
I've heard that the Navy has to use much of their funds towards the ships and such, which are very expensive and that may be the reason for less quality living conditions compared to other branches.
Retired Navy Hospital Corpsman and prior service Air Force Medic, while in the Navy served over five years with the Marines (Navy provides Medical, Dental and Religious personnel for the Marines and after special training we wore their uniforms with Navy stripes, standards have changed since I retired in 1988). Actually enjoyed my time with all three services.
I got a 94 on my asvab and chose army over Air Force for multiple reasons.... warrant officers non existent in Air Force, sign on bonus non existent, Gi AND Gi KICKER are nowhere near as good, with a bachelors you can start as E-4 in army versus E-3 in Air Force, more tech school options, more job opportunities because there are more MOS’s.
In the process of joining the AF, my husband is currently serving and is active duty. I'm excited for what the future brings. Thank you guys for your service.
After Air Force basic, I never had a PT test! After a couple of years at the same base, we heard we'd have to take a test. There we were, out of shape, trying to run. I remember almost collapsing on the ground, my lungs on fire, gasping for air. Then, there was no test. That was about 1970.
Been out two years now and man do I miss the comradery. That's definitely something you lose when you get out/work in the civilian sector. I kick myself for getting out and I was one of those guys who counted months until I was done (at least, until I extended for a year.) Just a bunch of different things that moved my life this direction I suppose. Glad I left a good impression that I still hear about from my old unit, though! It just isn't the same. And in regards to people who bust different branches balls and mean it: Usually means they're ignorant and have never served or are new troops who haven't yet actually been involved in anything. We work side by side and respect each other for their differences/capabilities. The military is definitely a family.
I have one comparison that I found interesting. I was in a Navy Squadron that was temp. deployed of 3 aircraft to Nellis AFB for 2 weeks. We only had 15 people to take care of all the maintenance, fueling and launching of those aircraft. That includes officers and enlisted. We had people that could do jobs other than their regular job. For example. I did weapon systems electronics and I could also fuel and taxi the plane. So I think the Air force is more specialized than the Navy therefore needing more people to do the same operations that we do.
Although the Academy reserves only around 50 spots for enlisted Airmen a year, I hear that they never get nearly that many. The opportunity is there but no one really takes it.
Just yesterday I got medically separated from Air Force BMT. After 6 months I'm able to reenlist, and I immediately made the decision to pursue the Navy next time around. I'm very glad you uploaded this, thanks Kyle! Gonna go sub to JT right now :D If anybody has any questions about BMT go ahead, I'll do my best to answer but I only made it halfway through 2nd week. Outstanding video! I have been receiving a lot of questions based on this video (I am a Air Force Reserve recruiter). I am hoping this will clear some up. Reserve only has 6 year enlistment unless you served before. We welcome all branches! You get to choose your job before enlistment and you are locked into that job. You get the same basic and tech school. The money for school is a little different. With the reserve, you can start using the GI Bill as soon as you finish Tech School. Reserve you just do your ASVAB and physical at MEPS, that's it! You get paid for your delayed entry time. You select your job, enlist, and ship away from MEPS. Hope this helps!

I joined the air force 2 years after the Vietnam War in 1977. Back then my MOS was in the communications field and we were in a tactical outfit in Germany. Alot of the guys had long hair which they slick down using Dippidy Doo to be in regulations. It was more of a relax air force back then after going through nasty war which nobody wanted anymore. I retired in 1997. The air force is not what it used to be when I joined.
My cusin is in the Navy , my mom's boyfriend was in the Navy and I have other family and friends who have served or are currently serving our country and I have so much respect for them and for you guys as well. I came across your guys channels when I was thinking of joining the Navy and ever sence then I have loved your videos
You can become a warrant officer in the army straight out of HS. And most warrant officers are pilots. So if you wanna be a pilot and skip college, the Army is your best shot.
My husband went seaman ELT/MM -nuke to admiral or STA-21 program as a nuke submarine officer. He always tells people.. do not do it for the money, do it because you love your job... He's now at 15 years 8 years enlisted but still loves his job!
I got an 88 on my ASVAB. Joined the Air Force out of High School back in 1996. My job was Intel. 352d SOG RAF Mildenhall. Yes the AF has the best food in BMT.
hey guys I rarely comment but considering the day I'd like to take a moment to thank you your friends and all those who serve and are considering service these may be tumultuous times butt when you stand know that you stand for us and we stand behind you so thank you
It is important to understand that life is totally different on the "small boy" ships than on an aircraft carrier. Also, the vessels are SHIPS not boats.
You two are cute, my son is in boot camp right now he graduates August 9th 2019 his ASVAP score was 90, I'm so proud of him going to Great Lakes from Northern California to see him graduate 🙂👍
Proud Navy Mom here in CA! My son is at Pensacola for IT been there 3 weeks. He loves it there. His best friend is there also for Aviation Mechanics. He got there 2 weeks ago.
Using the post 9/11 right now just started this last semester and it has been amazing. I still have to wrap my head around all these benefits I am receiving.
JtSuits , I just wanted to point out that you can actually move off base depending on your command. I have a friend who is an E-4 and he does not live on base. Not saying you're wrong but it does happen I guess! :-)
I went drove 2 hours to see the Air Force recruiter just for him to tell me I don’t qualify because of 2 small hand tattoos. I was so bummed out .. decided to talk to the Navy Recruiter and they brighten me up with out even trying hard. There was a natural vibe. I heard your time is what you make out of it. I’m open minded and not expecting much but just the opportunity to learn new things. Hopefully everything goes smooth for me like I feel it will.
JTsuits that's so cool that im the first person that noticed and that you replied. Just watched some of your videos last night, you just earned a new subscriber.
I have been in both!! Navy has Duty Sections and Duty Days. If you are assigned to a ship, when in port you stay on-board the ship until the next day. Air Force has something different.
E6, Navy Reserve. My first contract in the nineties was an 8-year contract. That was the standard back then that everybody had back then and it included mandatory 4 years of active duty and 4 more years of active duty, active reserve duty, or inactive reserve duty.
JtSuits is in Aviation Squadron, that's a pretty different life then the typical Navy person assigned aboard a ship. Onboard a ship a typical deployment and inspection cycle lasts 24 months. 6-8 Months deployment, 2-4 months or more of a maintenance period and then inspection after inspection where their are lots of Monday-Friday underway periods for training to get ready for deployment.
This was a really fun video! I am 17 right now and 18 in January. I have been interested in the military since i knew it was a thing (since about 3rd grade ish) because my brother was in the Army. He recently retired and also has a purple heart award. I am taking the ASVAB in less than a month and hopefully signing papers in January. But i have no idea what kind of career i want in the Air Force, im interested in everything.
I'm not a pilot, but I think a lot more has to be taken into account to determine pilot skills than just landing. Say an Air Force pilot is more experienced in combat maneuvers or flying a black hawk while being shot at, and the Navy pilot is just better at landing on a giant moving ship. Both require a lot of skill and discipline and I think any real pilots would agree.
“Giant ship” doesn’t applies to all.. try searching Videos for frigates.. I did my first deployment on the smallest ship with 2 Seahawks helicopters... heavy seas can mean you can literally walk on bulkheads or a wall 😂 first day at sea wasn’t pleasant for me and being hangover from the night before doesn’t really help.... I probably accumulate a Walmart bag full of vomits 😆
@@generalgaige8058 Ah....being able to land your aircraft is a pretty big deal. Let's compare. The Air Force lands on runways on the ground that doesn't move. That runway is always right where you left it. Not so with a ship.... Naval Aviators land fighters and other aircraft on a pitching and rolling carrier deck...at night....in storms,..... in the middle of the ocean. Do you know what the first thing a Navy pilot does when his wheels touchdown on the deck of a carrier??? He goes to full power, because if they miss the arresting wire they have to take off immediately or, they will go over the side of the ship.....at night.....in a storm.....in the middle of the ocean. To take off, Navy jets are catapulted off the ship. Then, when they are in the air, they do the same things other pilots do. Helicopters? Look up some videos here on RUclips about landing those on ships....in rough seas.
I love watching your videos. I was actually taking to my mom about going into the Air Force. My whole family has been in the military including the army and Air Force!
Probably one of my most curious questions answered. I went to a Air Force recruiter and i got rejected because of a previous misdemeanor offense but my NAVY recruiter is willing to waive it. Why is that?
navy guy stationed at USAF base. I asked af guy do they stand duty? the af guy said whats that? oh.. what we did in boot camp. the af is a 9-5 job. the navy however is a 8-4 job with "duty/watches" on the side. The key difference here is ships. Ships are alive 24/7 and to be alive they need to be manned by sailors. at any one time 1/3 the total force is always on duty. this means i spent 40 hours aweek.. PLUS every third or 4th day you have to spend 24 hours on the ship (in port) .. at sea your there 24/7. Deployments are 2/3 the time at sea. Just being on a ship sucks. af lock the doors and go home.. the gate guards and janitors are civilians.. the navy guys you are the janitor. you will spend more time cleaning toilets and waxing floors than doing anything else for YEARS. navy will have you work 60 hour weeks to over 80 hour weeks. one ship we had one dept working 12 on 12 off for months. the shipyard we worked 12 hours m-f and 8 hours on saturday with sunday off.. ALONG WITH EVERY 4TH DAY 24 HOURS!.. that lasted a year. IF there is a casualty on the ship.. YOU FIX IT OR DIE.. you cant just evacuate the building and wait for the fire dept. If your ship sinks you are shark food. so you spend a LOT of time.. doing drills.. cleaning.. studying.. doing drills cleaning studying.. etc.. your kept so busy you dont have time to go nuts. all that studying is on your own time.. your time off.. those drills can be anytime. The navy has faster advancement tho.. because the job is so demanding people get out.. leaving room for advancement. teh AF is a 9/5 job.. so they stay in the af.. the AF takes care of their people.. so they do not promote as fast. you will travel more in the navy.. i went to korea.. guam .. norway.. france.. bermuda.. barbados, scotland england.. and i was stationed in scotland cape canaveral fl hawaii ct ... my regret is i did not get out of navy at 10 yera point.. i did not realize the job opportunitys for my rate (job).. i could have made much more money on the outside. i did get out at 20 and walked into a tech job. teaching ion implanters. so the navy DID pay off in the end.. BUT.. that's up to you.. if you study.. and learn your job.. or if you just waste your time.. is up to you.. i did have to pass entry tests for the civillian job. The bottom line is the navy is THE WORST branch of service (discounting war) but promotes the fastest.. the air force is THE BEST but slowest promotion. the navy they rotate you depending on the job and the needs of each job on things like ships.. generally its 4 or 5 years at sea.. then 2 or 3 years on shore duty. enlistments are 4 years for non tech or 6 years for tech jobs. shore duty might be teaching your replacements.. or it might be passing out basket balls. depends on your job. navy is TERRIBLE on family's.. plan on a divorce. the navy you change duty stations every 4 years or so.. you grow each time you change station.. you become more and more senior. in the air force yopu can spend your whole career in one base.. their job changes are not regular.. you cannot plan things out years in advance.
Navy bases are in better locations..usually by the sea with nice weather. Air Force bases are in boring locations..not all but many. This is big difference. Depends what you want.
There used to be a thing called "B" school. Am example, ET's FC's etc, tech jobs start with BE&E basic electricity and electronics. It's a pre requisite for the rest of A school. Otbised to be called BSchool, notnots just a part of A school.
It is always fun in the Navy when you are doing a working party, loading food on the ship, and the box for the meat says "Grade D. For prison and institution use only"
Joking please tell me joke haha ummmmm is it
D Grade stands for, its "D"uh best!!
It's a joke, it never happens.
It could be worse, when I was in prison, the meat said, "Not for human consumption."
Certainly the Air Force has the lowest crayon consumption rate.
Yeah, that's because they can't figure out how to open the box.....LOL
But trust me... there are crayons being consumed 😂😂😂
Military sleeping arrangements
Army - Dirt
Marines - Sand
Navy/Coast Guard - bunk on a boat/ship
Air Force - 5-star hotel with a mint on your pillow.

@@Rude_Boi yea I wanted to go over seas but I stated stateside and I love it I’m in Arizona and my base has the defaq closed so I get extra money so I’m really lucky right now to be at my base kinda of blessing to be making more money than I’m supposed to at my rank
@@BakerClan how’s it going now man?
yeah thats what im talking about what a great way to start my day watching these two great men making a great video thanks boys
Air force seems fun because you get to stand right next to a 50 million dollar jet and not everyone can do that
Austin Mosier don't do it lol
Being a Maintainer
Shaun Jones that's exactly what I was thinking about doing.
or you can be security forces and watch a jet not move..........never go open general lol
You do the same thing in Navy aviation.
"Don't get chopped up by a propeller." -JT Solid advice right there. lmbo
This video couldn't come at a better time. I'm a 1st year in college and it's not working out. I think the navy will be good for me.
My husband went seaman ELT/MM -nuke to admiral or STA-21 program as a nuke submarine officer. He always tells people.. do not do it for the money, do it because you love your job...
He's now at 15 years 8 years enlisted but still loves his job!
Air Force has better Quality Of Life facilities than the
Navy.
I got an 88 on my ASVAB. Joined the Air Force out of High School back in 1996. My job was Intel. 352d SOG RAF Mildenhall. Yes the AF has the best food in BMT.
Raymond Me Damn I got an 87, 1 point lower
i wonder what Nava thinks when they said stuff of the marines lol
Eric Zavala he commented 58 minutes ago
hey guys I rarely comment but considering the day I'd like to take a moment to thank you your friends and all those who serve and are considering service these may be tumultuous times butt when you stand know that you stand for us and we stand behind you so thank you
It is important to understand that life is totally different on the "small boy" ships than on an aircraft carrier. Also, the vessels are SHIPS not boats.
SSBN 625 not a ship. It was a boat.
Thanks for the video guys! People are convincing me for the Air Force but I really want to go into the navy and you guys helped me make my decision.
Which one did you do?
I'm ten years old and my dream is to become a marine
avery stoffregen
All the best, kid.
👍🏿
WAKE UP ! DON'T DO IT!
one of the dopest collabs ever. i watch both of these guys and to see them do a video together is dope
JTsuits You Rock! Love your videos! Great job!
My hubby is just 6 years in the Air Force (tssgt) and It is So hard For him to get deployed.
You can't be a TSgt after 6 years.
time and grade unless he was prior military
Prob meant ssgt
Unless hes in the air force band they make rank quick
Navy hard deploy what u only gone short
I respect both of you more than you'll ever know
You should do a Q&A with someone in the Coast Guard
jt does on his channel
ReKt OG i do videos with my friend coast guard Chris ;)
JTsuits oh thanks!
iCry Green I
Kyle honestly hypes me up to join the air force so much, your great dude
USMC make the best security guards I have ever witnessed... Lol
Using the post 9/11 right now just started this last semester and it has been amazing. I still have to wrap my head around all these benefits I am receiving.
JtSuits , I just wanted to point out that you can actually move off base depending on your command. I have a friend who is an
E-4 and he does not live on base. Not saying you're wrong but it does happen I guess! :-)
the few ,, the lucky
I went drove 2 hours to see the Air Force recruiter just for him to tell me I don’t qualify because of 2 small hand tattoos. I was so bummed out .. decided to talk to the Navy Recruiter and they brighten me up with out even trying hard. There was a natural vibe. I heard your time is what you make out of it. I’m open minded and not expecting much but just the opportunity to learn new things. Hopefully everything goes smooth for me like I feel it will.
In a Pensacola AF dorm right now. Block 6 ASM ✌🏻️
After watching this, my friends and I are glad we joined the Army and Marines
Every time Jt moved his hands all I noticed was his double jointed thumbs.
omg your the first to point that out haha ! ,, not many peeps know I'm double jointed
JTsuits that's so cool that im the first person that noticed and that you replied. Just watched some of your videos last night, you just earned a new subscriber.
JTsuits are still in the military jt
I have been in both!! Navy has Duty Sections and Duty Days. If you are assigned to a ship, when in port you stay on-board the ship until the next day. Air Force has something different.
TheDlfetters which one you prefer?
Man we should do a full military branch q&a one day! Check out my army female page! Would love some input! Good stuff and happy Veterans Day
Ericka Bernie 👀👀👀
Yes?
whats your mos(S) ?

E6, Navy Reserve. My first contract in the nineties was an 8-year contract. That was the standard back then that everybody had back then and it included mandatory 4 years of active duty and 4 more years of active duty, active reserve duty, or inactive reserve duty.
I want to join the air force because I'm not a good swimmer
@Clark Reyes they will?
My two favorite military RUclipsrs this is awesome.
Why have you never done a video with WildBlueYonder?
Fahim Chowdhury thats not true
darkdancerman. TROLL Trying to start trouble!
darkdancerman, sorry I'm stupid, I meant my reply to go to Fahim Chowdhury
EX-Navy Vietnam Vet, sort of, On a ship off shore - RM2
JtSuits is in Aviation Squadron, that's a pretty different life then the typical Navy person assigned aboard a ship. Onboard a ship a typical deployment and inspection cycle lasts 24 months. 6-8 Months deployment, 2-4 months or more of a maintenance period and then inspection after inspection where their are lots of Monday-Friday underway periods for training to get ready for deployment.

GO PAINT THE HEAD
I loved working on the flightdeck, especially at night!! Always exciting!!
i knew jt was going to win
;)
how u know ?
JTsuits Navy strong
This was a really fun video! I am 17 right now and 18 in January. I have been interested in the military since i knew it was a thing (since about 3rd grade ish) because my brother was in the Army. He recently retired and also has a purple heart award. I am taking the ASVAB in less than a month and hopefully signing papers in January. But i have no idea what kind of career i want in the Air Force, im interested in everything.
the air force pilots are better. far better
Christian Arboleda not. Navy pilots have to land on aircraft carriers
I'm going to laugh if Nava the beast sees this
Kyle Gott lolz
Definitely great vid and collab now heading to JTs!
Navy has better pilots? Well what does the air Force do then?
LyricalXilence You have to admit, landing on a ship and having to catch an arrestor gear with a hook is hard.
LyricalXilence baby pilots are skilled but think about it the AIR force is based straight off aviation and can pull wat more maneuvers
Great info here! This is valuable for people either looking into one of these branches or people torn between the Air Force or the Navy.
I just received my BA in Psychology, would my diploma benefit me in either the AirForce or the Navy? Thank You.
HOOAH, #AIRBOY! Kyle, you're fantastic. I've been a subscriber for years now, and I'm so glad I did. Thanks again for all you do!
Probably one of my most curious questions answered. I went to a Air Force recruiter and i got rejected because of a previous misdemeanor offense but my NAVY recruiter is willing to waive it. Why is that?
it's easier to get in to the navy than airforce?
And some people continue being parasites their whole lives, eh Nilbog? I'm sure you can attest to that? Disgusting........
best vids I've seen on youtube. I am very excited to enlist now! thank you!!
navy guy stationed at USAF base. The bottom line is the navy is THE WORST branch of service (discounting war) but promotes the fastest.. the air force is THE BEST but slowest promotion. the navy they rotate you depending on the job and the needs of each job on things like ships.. generally its 4 or 5 years at sea.. then 2 or 3 years on shore duty. enlistments are 4 years for non tech or 6 years for tech jobs. shore duty might be teaching your replacements.. or it might be passing out basket balls. depends on your job. navy is TERRIBLE on family's.. plan on a divorce. the navy you change duty stations every 4 years or so.. you grow each time you change station.. you become more and more senior. in the air force yopu can spend your whole career in one base.. their job changes are not regular.. you cannot plan things out years in advance.
stumpedII very informative
too long to read hahaha
Navy bases are in better locations..usually by the sea with nice weather. Air Force bases are in boring locations..not all but many. This is big difference. Depends what you want.
Sounds like a good time, ngl.
There used to be a thing called "B" school. Am example, ET's FC's etc, tech jobs start with BE&E basic electricity and electronics. It's a pre requisite for the rest of A school. Otbised to be called BSchool, notnots just a part of A school.
