Aha! I loved it! I got to catch a ride on it at night time! Yeah! In the last car at that! 1st I'll have to go back to my truck and have me a few, """",' then I'll totally submit to the Voyage at least, 'twice, if not three times.' That's my favorite place which I'll always go at least every 2-years or so! Great! So great! I love the other two as well!

I don't know why Coaster Enthusiasts hype up the Beast so much. It's just a Glamourized, Overrated, Amtrak Train ride from Mason, Ohio to Mason, Ohio. The Voyage just Absolutely Crushes the Beast, 7 Days a Week and Twice on Sunday!! The Voyage IS THE BEST FREAKIN WOODEN ROLLERCOASTER!! PERIOD!!! And I'm not just talking about during Holiwood Nights. EVERYDAY!!!🎢💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞

Voyage is top 3 for sure. Beast has lost most of its luster by virtue of all the speed brakes peppered throughout the first half where it should be racing out of control. Kings Island has been retracking parts of Beast, and it’ll be interesting to see if they’re able to remove the speed brakes. Love this coaster along with Boulder Dash.

@@jhagestad I 1st rode the Beast in 1983. I was in the Marine Corp, stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. At the time, Colossus was Absolutely my #1 Wooden Rollercoaster, the Screemy Meemy version in National Lampoon's Vacation, with the Buzz Lap Bars PTC Trains and Skid Friction Brakes between the track to stop them. After all of the hype about the Beast, I finally made it home to Ohio to take the ride. After waiting for 3 1/2 hours, and after the Train stopped at the safety/holding brakes, my 1st initial thoughts on the Beast was, it's fast. But so is Amtrak. As for the brakes along the circuit, they've always been on the Beast. They were long Skid Friction Brakes, and the Trains also had Buzz Lap Bars. Going through the long brake shed after the 1st tunnel, the Friction Brakes used to immediately started slowing down the Trains, then lowered just as the Trains approached the end of the brake shed. Now with the magnet brakes, as the Trains enter the brake shed, the Trains are still gaining speed up until the magnet brakes slows it down right at the end. Bottom line is, the Train speeds are about the same when the Trains exit the brake shed when the Skid Friction Brakes were still in place. Skid Friction Brakes were also on the 1st drop, and the 18° hill leading into the final helix. Either way the Beast can't touch The Voyage with a 7300 plus foot pole. 🤣

@@ellexking9136 And I totally agree with you. Sorry if my comment came across as otherwise. Voyage takes full advantage of the terrain and is built to withstand the crescendo speeds and G forces. It’s really two types of woodies into one: A standard out-and-back style with the large hills on the outbound leg, and a full-on twister style with airtime hits on the inward leg. Its genius is it lulls you into thinking the best part is over at the mid brake after the helix turn, but it’s only getting started. If Beast was built today 1) no way would Kings Island build it themselves and 2) it would have been a more interesting layout. I still enjoy Beast for what it is, but it’s never going to overshadow better layouts in optimal terrain.

My 2nd behind the Beast at Kings Island! I was cheated out of son of beast! Before I'd leave home I'd call to see, 'if,' it was up and running? Just my luck! I almost caught it up and running but would you know I stood in the line and 1/2 through it the dam thing broke down on me and I was so Pissed!

As a rollercoaster fanatic, I just have never really been fond of wooden coasters. They seem so limited on what they can do! This one seems pretty decent because it lasts quite long! Still, I just am more biased towards the steel coasters. Just my personal thoughts! Peace.
