Mt Baldy (Jan 23rd, 2024)

I took the Ski Hut trail to the summit of Mt Baldy at 10,064 feet elevation in the Angeles National Forest. There was a good amount of snow that had just fallen the day before, but crampons were not required because the snow was soft. Also, it was a warm storm that came in so the snow didn't start until around 7,500 feet. Date of this hike was January 23rd, 2024.

Looks like a good amount of snow for hiking. Enough to make it a winter wonderland but not too much to make it a post-holing nightmare. :) Who's dog was that?

Well put regarding the snow. The dog was coming up on the trail all by itself until a few minutes later when the owner showed up. It was very friendly and seemed to love the snow.
