- It's a spot where you can go during the winter for some powder or go hiking in the warmer season. Desmond Shaw gives us an aerial tour of Mount Baldy, the highest peak in Los Angeles County and the third highest peak in all of Southern California
I LIVE IN SAN BERNARDINO BUT GREW UP IN ONTARIO...LOVELY HIKING.
When I was in High School, we used to talk about driving up there to collect the snow and drive it down to Upland High for a snow ball fight in the parking lot.
Thanks Desmond, Mt Baldy is very cool and very close.
I have summited Baldy many tmes. Fun and gorgeous
That’s pretty crazy and I live right by the mountain 0:10
it's great up there
This is a great feature I'm sure other stations will steal this idea of aerial photography. The chopper is watching traffic anyway.
And skate the badly full pipe at the bottom of the mountain. That’s the best spot
If the cops don't come get ya! But yeah, legendary spot for sure. 🤘
Mt Waterman steepest face in Southern California ski on top!
Expecting a new big snow next Monday , Baldy bowl will be all white again.
Any time I see mountain terrain I study the footage to see where the mountain has been shredded for real estate development like all the other mountains out her in Cali. We all know come summer that mountain will be on fire 🔥🚒👩🚒
Thanks! Was trying also to find which mountain you see from Disneyland is actually Baldy.
I have hike Blady 3 times through devils backbone and green hut. Though hike
Thank you for posting these. What is the normal altitude a helicopter like that flies at?
Most helicopters use VFR which means the pilot must be able to see the ground (streets, fwy,& landmarks) to navigate. Therefore unlike planes and commercial jet, there is no normal altitude for choppers...
@@MrDbiker004 Thank you. Is there a maximum height they can go during normal operations on a sunny day?
@@jasminespencer3992 depends on the chopper is pressurized and/or equipped with IFR.
Cool.
FLAT EARTH
So promoting angeles crest, now this one. Is there an effort now to get the public interested in developing infrastructure? Why promote these places suddenly?
god the bowl is BONE DRY
That mountain is constantly crumbling, so even in the best snow condition there are always a lot of rocks on the surface, so if you don't mind tearing the base of your skis up, it's a great place to ski.
Am I eight
Nobody died this winter?
At least one person dies there every winter either winter sports or vehicle accident it’s just a matter if you hear about it or not
@@Mike-fo9qw same with Big Bear, Mammoth, Tahoe, etc. Snow + inexperienced drivers + weed & alcohol + cell phones...you get the point.
There are news of a guy that killed himself driving up or down Mt Baldy Rd
It's not in LA County.
He only specified "southern California".
@@ArnieJames666 Wrong. 0:22
Its actually both LA and San Bernandino counties, mountain is like half and half
Stop telling people about anything here in California. It brings nothing but shit around
