repairdrive Thanks! For sure. We unfortunately don't do this as a full time job or anything, but it would be quite the dream. Thanks for watching, and hope you get to get outdoors soon! --Andrew
Teds Outdoors Haha I'm looking forward to it too. Hopefully we will have a reunion episode this summer, but we're trying to figure everybody's schedules out.
Great video, guys! I always look forward to your new stuff. That thick fog and all the snow sure made it look like you were on another planet. Keep 'em coming.
Great Lakes Backpacker Thanks a bunch! We were actually really looking forward to seeing this video ourselves when we saw some of the footage, haha. --Andrew
Wow! It's been a long time since I've watched this video and had forgotten how great it was. The editing and time u invested in making such a fabulous video for us the viewers. Love the illustration of oxygen percentage at different altitudes. Awesome job boys! Just watched "California Through My Lens" before this video and indeed u put some people to shame. Love u guys! Keep up the awesome work.
Hey guys!! this was actually great I'm glad you took us along with you on this hike! the fact that this was 8 years ago is crazy! so far ive driven with a friend to mt baldy twice only and just to a point where we could enjoy the snow. the second time we went there was a storm warning and it started getting crazy where we stopped and i wasn't even that far in. I can't imagine how it was like at the top of the summit. I would love to go on this hike and during a blizzard lol i think it's a great adventure. However I don't wanna do it solo so until i find somebody as excited to do it as me it's gonna have to wait:( I think especially for a first time a group of people is best.
Hey Guys!!! After watching this video, i realized there are still many beautiful and marvelous places in the world that not everyone know about. One of them is San Antonio falls in Los Angeles. From the video, the view is very beautiful through the screen of my cellphone. Althought it looks how the journey to the place is quite tired and draining, but i think it’s worth it. I imagined how beautiful the view would be if i were standing right there, breathing in the clean fresh air. I would love to go on this hike, i think it’s a great adeventure. However i don’t wanna do it alone. Thank you for sharing this amazing video.
Great hike, Chris and Thomas! I lived in San "Berdo" for two years and worked for my brother up in Lake Arrowhead; never doing the hike up Mt Baldy, What a shame. I have a granddaughter who works for NASA up there at the Observatory and she travels to and from Victorville. Glad you two made it up and down safely.
Your documentary style story telling is really good. I've hiked this several times and you guys didn't get that far, but the video u guys were able to make from it was interesting nontheleas
Surprised you all went up there in Winter expecting to summit without crampons and ice axe. Unless this was the first snowfall of the season and not expected haha. Baldy is pretty dangerous in Winter without gear (especially devils backbone). Did you all ever go back? Plus there are plenty of additional great peaks in SoCal to feature.
Translation: Cool roller. There is something to strive for. We climbed Elbrus in August. And our comrades from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were evacuated. It was complete ***))
Have you guys gone back since? I just went for my first time back in late March. It was awesome and can't wait to go again. Great job on the video, by the way!
Andrew Perez Awesome thanks! I actually haven't yet- but I plan on making it a day hike sometime in June. Were you actually able to make it to the top in March?
AdventureArchives Yeah the weather was great! A week before that there was some snow accumulation on Devil's Backbone that mostly melted by the time of my hike. Would love to see you make another video of your next trip (part deux)! Cheers....
So basically you guys hiked up a dirt rd., then hiked up the middle of a ski run to top of chair 4. Really smart you guys didn't keep going.... great video
This mountain was my training ground/2nd home, climbed it countless times. I've gotten more into technical climbing now, want to try the Northern face this Winter.
I lived in the Salt Lake Valley for 26 years and it averages 4,200 +/- feet and never noticed anything out of the ordinary, even when I was away for nearly three years and came back. Didn't feel a thing breathing-wise.
Check out the Driftless Area on Google & RUclips. Its a region in NEIA that was untouched by glaciers. It's quite a unique area. There are also other neat places too, some are more well known than others. You just have to explore and see what's out there!
I live in LA and all that rugged terrain is within an hour, at least you got the high plains and ya dont necessarily need to go anywhere to see snow falling in the winter.
My first time hiking Mt. Baldy I was lucky to make it through the devils backbone in snowy conditions. I was ignorant, unprepared with no gear. I had sneakers on, no crampons, i didn't even have enough money for my ski lift on the way back down. Don't be dumb, prepare for your snowy, treacherous hikes and keep going.
i have lived in upland ca from 1966 and the only thing scary on mt baldy is the locals dress in layers . and there are way better places to go then the top of mt baldy like the shapire and ruby mines
Did you take a tarp just in case you needed to hunker down? Have you thought about hiking Mt Rainier? Just a note though people get lost and die on the mountain every year. Be prepared for Mt Rainier!! Love the videos!!!
the air that we breath at sea level is actually more like about 21 % oxygen and 78% is mostly Nitrogen. i understand what you mean when you said 100% Altitude (feet) Effective Oxygen % 2000 19.4 3000 18.6 4000 17.9 5000 17.3 6000 16.6 7000 16.0 8000 15.4 9000 14.8 10000 14.3
Good call on turning back. Another day. Devil's Backbone is not a good place to be in those conditions. I know at least two people died there last winter.
I would be very careful about climbing Mt. Baldy during the Winter months. I did it as a kid maybe five times. But people get killed almost every year there because of inexperience or lack of proper gear. Especially around Devil's Backbone. Please be careful, the mountain will always be there.
all of the dangerous trees being washed out and granet could be harvestd to build homes and the large bolder on the road under the village is tigger stiped looking graint and worth thousands
+ItsCricket/ Minecraft mini games This one refers to Mount San Antonio in LA County, though I believe a lot of other places go by the name Mt. Baldy. Have you been to the one in Arizona? Is it pretty cool? Thanks for watching!
This is sick. I grew up just below Baldy and it deserves the storytelling you gave it on this video!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video - we try to do justice for all the places we get to visit :)
Mt baldy! Home sweet home!
Great thanks for taking us along...
Glad to take you along!
-Thomas
I reached the summit of Mt Baldy two winters ago and it was no joke!
Great cinematography. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Wingman115! It means so much to us that you like our videos
Just finished this hike today. awesome!
Great adventure. You guys are doing what I would LOVE to do.
repairdrive Thanks! For sure. We unfortunately don't do this as a full time job or anything, but it would be quite the dream. Thanks for watching, and hope you get to get outdoors soon! --Andrew
Great vid! I'm always looking forward to your adventures and stories, all you guys rule :)
redrock8603 Thanks RedRock! Outta curiosity, did you happen to see our last video? It was actually at Red Rock State Park. kinda funny
I've been watching videos for a handful of years now but have never seen the Thomas Only Intro!
Hi quality production! You all are great storytellers. Thank you for sharing.
I love your guys videos!! Keep up the good work!!

Ahhh, I’ve always wanted to hike Mount Baldy. Winter would definitely bring a memorable twist.
So beautiful! The morning view is just breathtaking! Wow! I wanted to go there so bad... thank you for sharing.
I love these shorter videos with Thomas!
Very cool. Winter is the best time to Hike and Adventure. Real conditions.
Beautiful video! Reminds me of Harry Potter. So perfectly white! Crazy that this is so close to LA!
Awesome video guys. Going there for the second time this weekend.
Catching up on A.A. videos
Great job Thomas & Chris (and A.A. team!)
Another fantastic video! It's great to see two different locations in your video's! Keep it up.
Thanks so much! Just wait till we unite for one big episode
Wait? But I don't think I'll survive waiting!
Teds Outdoors Haha I'm looking forward to it too. Hopefully we will have a reunion episode this summer, but we're trying to figure everybody's schedules out.

Классный ролик. Есть куда стремиться. Мы в августе взошли на Эльбрус. А товарищей наших с МЧС эвакуировали. Это был полная *****))
+Marchello GoBro Thank you for watching! Do you climb often? is МЧС the Ministry of Education and Science? Cheers! -Andrew

This mountain was my training ground/2nd home, climbed it countless times. I've gotten more into technical climbing now, want to try the Northern face this Winter.
i did this in February the wind makes it so cold at the top of the bowl and summit
There is a popular Groupon for a free lift up the mtn, lunch and a ride down. We decided to walk down instead and our flip flops almost killed us.
@Rashisul Haque SADIB- I'm sorry I can't directly reply to your message, but Awesome! did you make it to the summit?
I grew up hiking baldy.
i live at around 3k feet above sea level do you think the high altitude would affect me
Does the sun rise?
I lived in the Salt Lake Valley for 26 years and it averages 4,200 +/- feet and never noticed anything out of the ordinary, even when I was away for nearly three years and came back. Didn't feel a thing breathing-wise.
at mt. baldy, i remember going to a restaurant somewhere on the mountain and i had cheese fries
dang winter looks nice!
was the hike 14mile ish round trip?
Mount. Baldy is actually in San Bernardino County.
I wish mountain ranges and desert environments were within driving distance from my house. Iowa has some amazing scenery, but nothing like that!
EarthCrawler Same here (Andrew). I can never get enough of the West. What are some cool places in Iowa, outa curiosity?
Check out the Driftless Area on Google & RUclips. Its a region in NEIA that was untouched by glaciers. It's quite a unique area. There are also other neat places too, some are more well known than others. You just have to explore and see what's out there!

I will be there...Tomorrow :D
Hope it goes well!
I did it....via Baldy Bowl...you have to see iced tree's amazing amazing amazing
Nice one guys! Will you be camping next time?
-Andy
I think the guys in Ohio got something cooking further south, but for us west coasters, we're still looking. Got any suggestions?
-Thomas
I remember when I lived in Yellowstone at 7000-8000 feet I would have coughing fits if I exerted my self to much.
At 4:37, not true. The amount of oxygen is the same at higher elevations (troposphere), but partial pressure [of oxygen] is decreased.
You're correct, the differential in atmosphere makes it more difficult for our lungs to absorb Oxygen.

I had sneakers on, no crampons, i didn't even have enough money for my ski lift on the way back down. Don't be dumb, prepare for your snowy, treacherous hikes and keep going.
the funniest thing ive seen in years
people like to walk up the trail and turn around and come back .
i have lived in upland ca from 1966 and the only thing scary on mt baldy is the locals dress in layers . and there are way better places to go then the top of mt baldy like the shapire and ruby mines

Blizzard? Huh.
Mt baldy is in arizona

California
You were unprepared. The area is prone to avalanches
No music please!! Ugh. It just makes the whole thing seem like a whimsical fairy tale (vocals sound like it too) instead of real.
that looks nothing like los angangeles
