  • Mt Baldy annual Run to the Top race takes place every Labor Day. A true test of fitness, this race offers fantastic views, fun times, nice people and challenging terrain. Coach Steve Mackel runs the course with his GoPro to give you a peak into what the racers experience running to the top, 10,064 feet of Mt San Antonio.

    hey coach Steve,
    can you help with your formula:
    Length x Cadence = Speed (3ft x 180 = 540ft/min)
    its the Approx part: approx 9:45 min/mile
    i cant figure out the calulation to adj. my cadance while doing gradual splits.

      You don't adjust your cadence. Cadence always stays consistence. You
      change your stride length. I can't tell you how long that will be or
      feel for you. Keep the metronome going and watch your Garmin for pace.
      If you want to go faster on each split let your feet slide back farther
      and pick your heels up a little higher
