Vectric Laser Module Hybrid Project with J Tech Photonics 7W Laser

- This is the video from the "virtual" Vectric user group back in September. It shows you how to use V Carve and the new laser module plugin to create your toolpaths for carving and then lasering in the same project. This will take you through a project from start to finish in the Vectric software using the new laser module. There will be a carve toolpath, a laser vector toolpath and a laser picture toolpath. In this project, we used PicSender to send the project to the machine, but you can use V Transfer as well.
The beginning 10 minutes shows the detail of setting up the project and then the rest it running the project.

Good info! I’m subbing just because you pronounced Porsche correctly!
I just purchased your 7w laser from onefinity and should get it in the next week .would you be willing to make a video on setting up the laser module in vcarve for the onefinity .
I don’t subscribe very often but this is worth it. These videos are perfect. Still don’t know if my super7w is a 7w pro because the cnc machine company I bought it from doesn’t know but they said they got them from y’all less than 4 weeks ago but I don’t have a barcode on the back...
Thank you Jay.. nice vid and even better products!
Can you make a detailed video on running the gcode from Vcarve?
Nice I have been trying to hook up a laser on my cnc ( home built ) not much luck. Is the laser in the same place all the time , if so on scrap use the vbit and make a small mark then move the laser to the same location and watch the DO and note it, then when you go to 00 with the bit you know how much to move the head to get the laser at 00.
so with this way if you make your grove to deep wouldn't that make your laser not focused? I noticed the Z did not move. and thoughts about adding Air assist ?
could you do one with carveco. I just purchased the 24 watt and have a onefinity. heard nothing but good tings with it
Hello nice project ;)
Just wonder are laser module us connected to spindle output ? Iam using Mach 3 for cnc control
Is there a larger wattage laser, other than 7, that will work on a Millright carve king ?
what application did you run for the movement? was it carbide motion or did you use lightburn for the laser portion?
As stated in the Description Quoted "This will take you through a project from start to finish in the Vectric software using the new laser module."
Question how do you change get orgin of left to right mine is back wards yorahome 6550 40w ? Could you help me ?
What program did you use for the laser vs the spindle? Did you do it all in VCarve Pro?
I have the jtech laser for my onefinity, vcarve-pro, I would like to know what version software I need for the add-on. thank you
How do you fire the laser in vcarve to set the starting point?
You have to use a sender program like UGS or PicSender. In this program you can send "G1 F100 M3 Sxxx" where xxx is a small number to turn the laser on in low power. For example, if your $30 value is set to 1000 and you want to turn the laser on at 5% then you would send "G1 F100 M3 S50" to turn it on at 5%.
where do we find post processor for aspire to create laser picture toolpath with such a laser and onefinity machine?
I have your 4.2W laser with a high resolution lens, do you know what would be a good kerf to set for this laser setup? Mostly going to use it on Pine or Maple. I see you have 0.3mm or 0.015 inches for your 3.8W laser settings. Should I use those? Thanks!
Hi Jay, finally got my 7w hooked up to the shaepoko. using the vetric laser module trying to do a pic and its just burning at full strength in the shape of the bmp. I know im missing something but ive been at it all day. what am i missing?
I'm having the same issue. Ever get it solved?
What was the total run time for this project ?
is the cut and fill only on pro cause i dont have it on my desktop version
It is part of the laser module plug in. You can see it here: www.vectric.com/products/laser-module
The picture part only works on GRBL machines like the x carve and shapeoko3.
hAY hoY giy no he entendido ni un carajo de lo que ha dicho este tio
