HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 апр 2021
- This video tutorial is a start to finish design process using Vectric Vcarve or Aspire (Desktop and Pro), and is an excellent CNC projects for beginners video.. You will learn how to create a CNC project design idea the right way from concept to toolpath so you have an awesome project on your CNC router the first time.
We will walk through the entire process of creating an American flag with an American Bald Eagle logo on it
This video runs through many design tips and tricks that Vectric doesn't teach. You will know how to organize your project upfront (order of operations), and how to fix vcarves before you cut them.
then you will learn exactly how to create the proper toolpaths.
When this is done, you'll know exactly how to make a wooden American Flag.

Hi John. I'm hoping to eliminate trial and error for many people.
Clear as mud. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to make a flag.
Hi Don. when you make it, please send a picture. I'd love to see.
Best summary I have seen in a year of online search -- really (REALLY) wish I had seen the node tip before -- finest kind, Bro.!
Hi Plinker. Thank you. Knowing that about nodes makes all the difference in the world!
Great video. Not new to cnc, but new to Vectric. You have the most comprehensive videos for this software.
James, welcome to Vectric my friend. Glad to hear my videos are helping you.
Garret I hung around I’m brand new to cnc if it wasn’t for you and your willingness to share your knowledge I believe I would’ve quit by now so thank you so much

New to the cnc world. Your videos have been a great help. Appreciate your dedication.
Brent, you are so welcome my friend.
What a great video! Yesterday I spent about 3 hours deleting unnecessary nodes. Could have watched this whole video in half the time. And bonus: learned how to clean the v-carve tool path up!! Thank you.
Ardumus, glad it was helpful brother! Sorry this one didn't find you sooner!
Yes, Priceless. Thank you and keep up the good work Garrett
Thanks Bill. I will for sure!
Very helpful. You kept me from reinventing some wheels, & confirmed some steps I had already worked through. Thanks muchly.
Hi LAmar. I'm glad this helped you, and thank you. How is your designing going? What projects are you making?
@@IDCWoodcraft I build guitars, & am just getting started w/ CNC. Right now I'm experimenting with V-Carving some inlay patterns sequentially to fill with powdered and/or epoxy-type materials. Appreciate the wealth of information you've posted here.
watched all the way through and will most likely watch again. a lot of great info!!
It was a long video Jim. Hats off to hanging around. It has a lot of tips in it. what did you pick up from it?
Wow just wow I’m not sure if you were a mentor earlier in you life but Dam you are now!
I just bought a openbuild cnc and I felt a little overwhelmed but I’m really enjoying it now because of you! THANK YOU!!!
Jim, unfortunately I wasn't! I definitely would have been if I'd know how awesome it is, I truly love what I do brother! I'm glad to be a part of your cnc journey and hopefully make things a little easier!
i HUNG AROUND FOR THE SECOND TME. GREAT INSTRUCTIONS. THANKS
Dennis, excellent! Glad it was helpful brother.
Great video, my head is exploring. I can’t believe it took me so long to find you.
Hi Tim. Yeah, we need to talk to youtube about that lol
Made it. Another fantastic Tutorial, it was long but well worth it for all the information contained in it, might be a blessing in disguise not having my machine yet, means I have plenty of time to learn the basics of design before I start learning the router.
Hi Steve. You made it. Yes, get to understand the designing forst. You'll be glad you did!
I have to say I usually do NOT sit thru videos more than 20mins (max )but I sat thru your whole video and am glad I did you sir are going to save me a ton of time. I am now subscribed.....THANK YOU
Hi Inside out. Wow, what a compliment...sticking around that long. I know this one is definitely a long one. Thank you and you're welcome!
I received the set of bits, thanks for the quick turnaround on my order. I'm really like your teaching methodology. Your machining experience continues to serve you well. Thanks
Dennis, thanks for letting me know the bits arrived safe and sound! I love what I do and I'm glad I found a way to put my skills to good use brother!
Well I hung around all the way it was surprising all the things I was shown. I'm a newbie like 4 mo. I know I will watch this episode again and pause as I go through this video. Thanks this is a great learning tool. Awesome!!
Hi Stew. I'm glad you hung around. There was a lot of info in this video. Being a newbies, do you have your machine yet?
@@IDCWoodcraft yes picked the cnc up in Mar
Great detail, clearly explained...answered many questions, raised several more, too!
Michael, glad to hear it brother!
My husband bought a CNC Axiom Iconic 4 about 1.5 years ago and we haven't done almost anything with that machine because we couldn't find any good step by step tutorials... and GOD knows you are AWESOME... I've learned a lot watching your videos :) I feel like eventually we should be ready to at least make some projects to recover what he invested in that CNC. THANK YOU so much. I do really appreciate your time and dedication with these tutorials.
Jnn, I am so happy my videos have been helping you. You are so welcome and keep up the hard work!
I'm hangin' around, Garrett. This is GOOD stuff!
Norman, thanks for sticking around brother!
Just started CNC at the young age of 70, and you are making things easier to understand thanks for the making thing clear
William, I am happy to hear that my friend. Never too young to learn something new. CNC can be tricky, I am glad that these videos are helping clear up some things for you
Hi Garrett, I'm still about a month away from getting my Longmill, but I watched the whole thing for the second time. I got a notice that the starter bits I bought from you are in town and should be here today or tomorrow. For the time being I am trying to get familiar with the software and the planning stages. I already have my laser engraver to play with and a 3d printer I am trying to learn, so plenty to do until my router gets here. I usually watch at least two or three videos a day but have to go back and watch them again before I try to run a program. By the time my Longmill arrives I should have everything I need to jump right in and start using what I've learned. Thanks for everything you do.
Hey docs48, hopefully your bits have made it there safely by now! You sound like you have your hands full of awesome projects! I'm stoked for you to get your longmill in hand and be able to start cutting! I'm excited to hear what you make and I'm always happy to help! Keep up the good work!
@@IDCWoodcraft Hi Garrett, I got my bits including the surfacing bit and I have been shopping at Etsy for fonts and plans, so just waiting for my router to arrive. I spend several hours a day watching your videos, often more than once, and am trying to learn the software and how to plan a project. I have a small Sain Smart router I picked up at an auction for $15 and it works, but the spindle is out of true, so I haven't been able to play with it until my new spindle arrives this week. It is not something I will use much but will allow me to learn the process from CAD/CAM to Gcode.
Hi Mr Fromme, another great video. Seems like i am getting many sleepless nights since i found your channel, Lol. It is really worth it. I have been using Fusion 360 for a couple years. I did not have the luxury of someone spending their time teaching me. I had to buy manuals and practice practice practice, with slow improvement . Your way of teaching is great, but i think knowing fushion 360 and been a autocad user for years too has helped. As you know there are similarities. But even then I will need to watch this video a few more times to let it all absorb in, you gave a ton of useful information. I am still waiting for my machine, longmill 30/30 but have started building the bench, the same as yours in one of your videos. Well, i am sure there will be many more sleepless nights, which I am sure you had as well. Keep up the awesome work, it is very valuable, I hope everyone feels the same. Back to more of your vids. Thank You, John
John, you will get there brother! You do have a step above the rest knowing fusion 360 and autocad no doubt about that
Just so ya know... YES... I'm hangin' in there on your tutorials! haha
Fortunately, I've been working with CAD for quite a while, however, your input in relation to Vectric has been quite helpful in making the transition for a guy like me... who's been in woodworking & construction for 4 decades, but just now making the transition to CNC. Looking forward to more... Thanks.
David, nice work brother! I'm glad the videos have been helping you transition over to Vetric. I know that switch can be a bit of a learning curve but you'll be a Vetric pro in no time my friend! Keep up the good work!
I stuck it out till the end. Learned some new things
Hi Roger. A pat on the back for hanging out. This was a tough one. So glad you picked up some things
Have watched this one a couple of times. Thank you for your continued help for those of us learning.
MikeBarr, you are so welcome my friend.
Yes, hung around...learned a lot...so THANKFUL for your teaching us newbies.
So glad that you liked the video Dave. Thanks for commenting.
I just ordered my CNC and have been looking at the software. I found your channel and I can say I wasted a lot of time in youtube, but not anymore. You have taught me so much just watching this video.. Thank you so much for doing this.
Mike, that was a wonderful comment to me. One video can help so much. Thank you. And, you are welcome!
Watched it one on my couch and then again at my cnc. Man your a good teacher! That whole "black node thing" was kicking my butt! I'm glad you covered that, it's going to help me out a TON!!!
Andy, wow I'm honored you watching it twice! I'm glad it was helpful for you. I'll be expecting pictures of your finished flag my friend! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for taking the time to show me how to use my CNC I just got one and I'm really excited to learn more so I'm going to be watching you thanks again
Hi Stephen. I am glad these videos are helping you. If there is ever a subject you are wondering abouot, be sure to let me know. I'll try to cover it.
GREAT info which sure will save my Longmill MK2 tonnes of work! THANKS, Garrett!!
James, glad I could help brother!
Love witching! can't get enough keep up the GREAT work
Edward, glad to help my friend. More to come!
THIS IS WORTH MORE THAN I CAN SAY
Howard, happy to hear it helped brother!! Happy CNCing.
You are a great teacher. For me it’s like trying to get a sip of water from a fully opened fire hose.
Thanks
Howard
Great job!! I have learned a lot, just need to practice. Thanks
Hi Arv. When it comes down to it, it is always about practice
Well I did watch it all the way through. That was pretty amazing. I am so looking forward to getting my machine up and running.
Thank you for all of your tips they are very much appreciated.
Hey Tom. Almost like watching a movie...
When does your machine come in?
Yes! Keep up the GOOD WORK Garrett - I would like to see more of these Video's.... :-)
Hi Michael. there are a bunch on thsi channel. you can always recommend videos

Hi Drone. You're welcome. what kind of projects do you work with?
Garrett! Possibly one of the best how-to-use Vectric videos I have seen. I'm just starting and this covered so much stuff I wanted to know. Nice Job!
Nathan, I'm glad it was helpful brother! I'm always happy to help, I know how confusing Vetric can be when you're just getting started!
@@IDCWoodcraft Still dragging my feet on making the purchase. Easel is so easy - but so limited compared to Vectric. I'll get there soon I'm sure!

Alot of great gems of information! Glad you showed a true behind the scenes of creating/design. Along with way's to combat said path. Thanks for the lessons!

John, I'm glad you enjoyed it brother! Thanks for the kind words, I'm humbled to be a part of your CNC journey!
Great video. I am SO glad I bought ATC with my CNC. One file has all the toolpaths. Push the button and go.
I am so jealous. An ATC...drooling
A lot of details involved into designing this. Wow! Well worth the time.
Hey Rafael. Thank you. Hope you got to the next level with this one.

Great job Garrett!
Art least we caught it early, huh?
Great work, Garrett. You're tutorials are spot on. Love your stuff. I'm only making new mistakes, not the same old ones over and over. I was unfamiliar with the smoothing of the nodes. Very key point on this. Thank you.
Squib, thanks! Glad to help my friend! I'm glad you're learning from your mistakes as you go, honestly I think that's the best way to learn! Keep up the good work!
One of the few clear and concise explanations on doing a completed project. So glad that I came across your channel as my frustration level has come down significantly. Thanks for a great tutorial and for taking the time for making this video.
Hi Anthony. It's funny how some people tell me my videos are too long and deep. I think they forgot where they were in the early days of CNC. Based on comments (like yours) I'm doing the exact right thing. thank you for reinforcing that and, my friend, you are welcome.
Now you can really get to making without the #*+@ coming out
