Back to the CB750 Cafe Racer build and we're breaking up the wiring videos into bite sized chunks now, and in part 1 of the re-wiring we're replacing the ignition coils, as well as scoping out where all the electrics and wires will go and relocating the fuse box.

Wiring can be so overwhelming! Nice work man!
Definitely. But doing it in bite sized bits like this makes it a lot easier.
So easy... lol 😁. You make it look like it's just plug and play... One day I'll get to that level. Great video as always 👍
Ha. Each tiny bit is easy but I find myself at times sitting and looking at the whole spaghetti
Another great video. Definitely gives me confidence as I know I will be having to redo my wiring as well.
Small steps and I can get through it.
Seeing that mass spaghetti of wires at the front looks terrifying! Nice camera work, thanks for sharing.
Yeah it definitely isn’t my idea of a Friday night but has to be done.
My sohc cb750 was a total wire mess. The previous owner did all kinds of extra grounds splices and fried fuses r/r. Had to pull the entire harness, striped down and tested with a meter. Had to soder in so many new wires. Took me weeks i was studing the wire diagram in high school. I think the broken r/r fried the ground wires to the point that the bike would not run. So the previous owner end up choping and splicing the harness up to bits.
Still my bike was a steal for $100usd
also my dad just bought a totally original 78 cb750k today with the oem 4 into 4 pipes in great shape. The guy said he had offers from Australia for alot more. We are going to ride all around michigan on them
great stuff man :) I have the same feeling about the m-unit... just so expensive.
that's so funny the ignition coils on my cb750 also were miss-mach sizes
Love your stuff brother....exquisitely beautiful builds!....I have a 1998 nighthawk cb750 I am working on and I was wondering where to source parts
Thanks, all over the place to be honest, no one place.
Love from INDIA
Thanks
@@forthebold i learn many thing from your side i wish i work with you i am also auto mobile apprentice
Hi can you tell me what the track is in the background to this video? It’s so bloody catchy was hoping to listen to it in its entirety. Any advice on how I can do that?
Hello i am having problems with my MSG-200 cdi spark boxes can i replace it with something modern?
You can swap out your entire pulse system with a Dynatek electronic ignition system eliminating the need for a cdi. Goes straight to the coils then.
@@forthebold if you can kindly send me a diagram or picture of what to swap with will be highly appreciated. My email: tarobangla@gmail.com
I'm seeing some resemblance to Raccia's cb 750 owned by Ryan Reynolds. Are you also planing on making a headlight shroud? Either way I love the brushed metal look on a robust bike like the CB.
Also hopefully tomorrow I'm getting an Aprilia Pegaso 650 for my scrambler project, so hope that goes well.
It is a beautiful bike that but this won’t have a fairing.
newbie question. What gauge wire do you use? I am doing a "simple" indicator repair.
looks great! What are you doing for a battery? i've got a couple DOHC CBs and as far as i knew you couldn't run a battery-less system.
I'm using an antigravity battery located where the maintenance stand used to be
@@forthebold Oh ok, i've heard of those. What size is the battery and how many amps?
I purchase a monosock upgrade kit for my Honda CX500. I’m having a problem choosing the right cafe racer seat to accommodate the upgrade. Any suggestions? Thanks
Entirely up to you style, but be careful with those monoshock conversions as when the Eurosport went monoshock they upgraded the swing arm to square tubing to compensate on the force, there have been some cases where the tubular swing arm bends upon extreme force and the shaft ends up scraping. Sasha Lackik's CX monoshock did have a reinforced swing arm but I don't know what mods he did.
@@forthebold Thank you for the advice. Your videos both inspired and taught me so much....Much appreciated!
It's a shame you didn't clean up the bracket which holds the coils, unless you plan to do it later.
Let’s get the electrics sorted then we can tackle the finer details.
Nice shocks , where did you get them ?
They’re RFY
I had a random question for you on welding? I've been subscribed since your first Suzuki 550 videos and I believe I even talked to you about my own project bike. Well after a good year or so of getting the space/tools and design ready with another tank that I bought. I need one last thing tool wise for this which is when I cut the back end where the tail assembly use to be and add a seat loop I will need to weld. It's better for me to learn how to weld, then to take it to a place that might not give me what I want. I would rather practice on some metal pieces in getting good with welding.
My question is I've heard TIG is the way to go for anything related to frames for cars, motorcycles etc. And was wondering what you used for your welding needs when you do the custom seats, and pans. For your suzuki I couldn't tell if you were tack welding with a MIG? What do you suggest as I have so little if no expierence with welding, or doing custom bikes, as you have way more garage/tool experience.
I was looking at MIG welder kits, and they seem to be more price friendly than a TIG. Getting a good TIG that's not 20 years old and $2000 AMerican is hard.
Any suggestions?
Can't wait to see the 750 at the show, keep the vids coming.
Cheers.
Hey. My welding skill isn’t the best but as much knowledge I have is that TIG is better ( I regret not getting a tig myself). But I use MIG. For any non structural I weld myself but anything that will be tested with force I always get someone else to do it. I have a good bloke who builds his own frames to do my CX frame
@@forthebold
Ah, gotcha thanks for the reply.
@@forthebold
So in your older video for the Suzuki 550 when your were cutting the back for the seat loop, you didn't weld it? Your friend did with a TIG welder is that right?
Or did you do light welds with your MIG and have him finish the permanent welds?
The Gs was stick ARC weld. The CX500 was TIG welded
@@forthebold What about the cb750? I'm watching an older video from Feb 2018 and your cutting the back end off adding a seat loop. Then I see what looks like a MIG welder being applied.
I guess my question is for doing a seat loop which is what I'm doing what would you recommend? ARC, TIG, MIG?
Thx! ;o))
You’re welcome
Burning the midnight oil!
Man i love series, i wanna do my own cb350 looking for ideas..
P.s i do music videos on channel
Amazing. Do it.
@@forthebold God damit you replay, i sand you a messeage about cb750 because its ma final work for end of studies didit replay tho
*lays the wiring harness on top of the bike, duck tapes it, and ends video* all done
Fuse box was relocated. No DUCT tape here. I wouldn’t recommend anyone using DUCT tape on electrics.
