The brake feature is called a "remote reservoir". My '78 r100rs had it. It puts the reservoir on the frame under the gas tank, and makes the handlebar look less cluttered.

Honda CB fours from that era just make great cafe platforms! I drooled over these 750s when they first arrived in my town in 1968/69. I still would like a clean original up to about the mid 80's.

There is something poetic about motorcycles and cars. It's been a while since I want to learn to drive a bike and cafe racers caught my attention. I am not a mechanic, but I would love to design one on my own and make it built. Nice videos! I've even been listening to them to improve my English listening skills. Salvadorean here.

WOW! Nine years to build a Cafe Racer. This must be some kind of record for the longest build ever. Granted, the bike does look awesome, except for the digital speedo. I see a lot of kudos for Andy's determination in completing his bike, however, I wounder if any of those praising him would commission Andy in building them a Cafe Racer. Imagine 3 years later Andy's status report to you would be, "We're 1/3 done now with the build. Just finished disassembling your bike. We'll start cutting and welding the changes we talked about 3 years ago".
Looool. Yes, you are right. 9 years is a long time. That is probably why this honda Looks so good. I remember when I started my own Honda CX project. It was a side project, build several other mainly car projects in the meantime. In this bike build went around 1500h of work you see it when you look closer, look at the pipes running from the oil tank, those are weldet bents smoothed out to look like one pice, or did you noticed the rear blinkers, and how they are mounted?

I'm impressed with the ignition points cover that is stock and well vented and if you noticed the holes appear to have probably do rolled edges as that points cover is very thin metal with a light coating of chrome on it and he has several holes around the front one big one in the center with something like a cap or something on it and then there are smaller holes around the beveled perimeter of the outer edge that took a hot minute or two probably spent as long on that ignition points cover he did on the oil tank.

I keep my Kawasaki W800 Cafe in the lounge room, I did have 4 other motorcycle's in the lounge room as well, but it was a bit crowded so now 4 live out in an enclosed verandah behind a sliding door so I can still see my baby's.

Another Beautiful bike this has similar lines to the ones I build, but I don't spend an entire week building an oil tank. I don't think the "Inline 4" gets the attention it deserves, they can turn out really good as this one shows, I've built 1 or 2 with open casings but that front brake set up & especially those wheels rims ad that little extra something. I've just built a fuel tank with "Dents" in it, I cut off both sides & swapped them around, the customer wanted the name "Hammering" into it so I filled it with lead & battered it with a hammer & it turned out surprisingly well, unfortunately, most of my builds are on a tight budget so no "Fancy" clocks, but I do have a number of "Unfinished" bikes out there, they come back to me "Time to time" to get things done that were not in the original build & of course my own bikes are always in a "State of Flux", speaking of "Unfinished" how's your "XS" coming along? PS I buy most of my bikes in the condition this one came in, it's a great way to get a "Seriously Expensive" bike for cheap money.

It's a lot of work, but it's a hell of a lot of satisfaction when it's done & you don't have to do all the work yourself. The Honda CB 750 is a motorcycle that has been used and abused in almost any direction of design or lack thereof. It is in the construction of the engine a cult object. Everything has been said and almost everything has been seen. But always, in a legendary motorcycle there is something that arises from the most diverse places. It is the case of this project that, in its apparent simplicity and repetition of old cliches, revolutionizes them to the point of not being one more of the bunch, but perhaps the only one of a herd of repetitions that is worth looking at carefully, precisely because it is something. original that stands out from the rest.
A question The inverted suspension My bike has it, which is awesome of course, but for my paint project not so much. It has this bright golden color, I've seen other inverted suspension with a more discreet golden tone, less bright we can say. My question is, can it be painted? Or is necessary to buy another one with the right color?
Hi. golden color is a very hard color to get it right with a paint job. Most factory original golden inverted suspensions, are made with a special chemical treatment(I don't remember the name of the process). Therefore, I think is it is better to buy an original inverted suspension, with the gold tone you most like. Good luck. Cheers.

Linda moto. O som do motor e do escapamento ficaram ótimos. Mas a dificuldade de ligar a moto, PROVAVELMENTE deve ser por causa do cabeçote. Aquela fumaca branca que sai quando ele acelera deve ser os retentores de válvula que estão deixando o óleo do cabeçote passar para a câmara de combustão. Se ele resolver isso E com os carburadores bem regulados, a moto vai ligar mais facilmente. Mas no geral esta LINDA. Abraço.
Obrigado amigo. Fico contente que tenha gostado. Na realidade eram vários problemas. As bóias dos carburadores mal reguladas, e parece que o motor não estava a carregar a bateria. considerando que o motor foi totalmente revisto com pistões juntas e vedantes novos, é provável que o fumo se deva a uma deficiente mistura de Ar /gasolina. Mas obrigado pelas dicas :) Um abraço.
Pena q aqui no Brasil seja tão dificil encontrar motos dessa geração com um minimo de qualidade para fazer uma "real café racer" o que podemos aqui é fazer o melhor com o que temos... O importante é nunca deistir se é o que realmente queremos!
Pois é amigo. Eu sei que aí é complicado. Mas pelo menos a abordagem neste projecto com a CB 750, pode perfeitamente ser aplicada numa moto bem mais pequena. Até mesmo numa Honda CG 125. :) Um abraço.

Pretty cool....I like the progression from barely running bike to ugly duckling daily rider....I have done the same with old Harleys, building custom bikes on a low budget, over a two or three year period....then the new paint and wheels and complete transformation to a thing of beauty;.
The origins of the cafe racer, come from taking a chassis that handles well and installing a motor that performs well , and styling it so you create less drag as you blast down the road. The original cafe racer was and still is the TRITON. Are there any other Triton owners out there other than me.?
From many other comments I read on this channel, it seems that not all guys who had cafe racer bikes in the 60s have the same perspective as you. What you described, seems to be on the top level of transformations of those days. But from what someone already told me, the big majority of those cafe racers of the 60's, were very simple, with only some small changes on the handlebars. I'm planning to convert my old cbr250r into a cafe racer. The bike originally weights around 160kg. I'm aiming to reduce weight by 10 to 15 kilos and give it a better suspension setup. Wish me luck.

Lool. To be honest, I always tried to develop my scripts over the years. The essence is to be true, using simple words, and make the right pauses between sentences. These pauses give more meaning to words. Unfortunately, this is something that is becaming very rare on these days. Most youtubers speak too much words, and extremely fast. O problema é que para que um projecto Cafe Racer funcione bem, tem que ser acompanhado pessoalmente, de forma a corrigir ou até melhorar os detalhes. Digo isto pela experiência que tive com a minha Honda CX. Tive que alterar muitas coisas ao longo da construção da moto. Mas obrigado pela sugestão.:) Um abraço.

The og design for cafe racer
Another Beautiful bike this has similar lines to the ones I build, but I don't spend an entire week building an oil tank. I don't think the "Inline 4" gets the attention it deserves, they can turn out really good as this one shows, I've built 1 or 2 with open casings but that front brake set up & especially those wheels rims ad that little extra something. I've just built a fuel tank with "Dents" in it, I cut off both sides & swapped them around, the customer wanted the name "Hammering" into it so I filled it with lead & battered it with a hammer & it turned out surprisingly well, unfortunately, most of my builds are on a tight budget so no "Fancy" clocks, but I do have a number of "Unfinished" bikes out there, they come back to me "Time to time" to get things done that were not in the original build & of course my own bikes are always in a "State of Flux", speaking of "Unfinished" how's your "XS" coming along? PS I buy most of my bikes in the condition this one came in, it's a great way to get a "Seriously Expensive" bike for cheap money.

@@RACER_TV I am genuinely sorry to hear that I know how much of a fan of his work you are, but having a different builder can be a bonus, new eyes & ears a new perspective for the bike & the parts it's built from, I know a guy if you can't think of anyone(haha), you have showcased a few from your part of the world that I'm sure would love to build it for you, but have you thought of a "Self-build"?? It's a lot of work, but it's a hell of a lot of satisfaction when it's done & you don't have to do all the work yourself. I've just finished one for a young lady, no chrome buy Copper with Fire Engine red paint, it's my first real paint job & it looks pretty f#ckin good if I do say so myself. A question
The inverted suspension
My bike has it, which is awesome of course, but for my paint project not so much.
It has this bright golden color, I've seen other inverted suspension with a more discreet golden tone, less bright we can say.
My question is, can it be painted? Or is necessary to buy another one with the right color?
Hi. golden color is a very hard color to get it right with a paint job. Most factory original golden inverted suspensions, are made with a special chemical treatment(I don't remember the name of the process). Therefore, I think is it is better to buy an original inverted suspension, with the gold tone you most like. Good luck. Cheers.

Linda moto. O som do motor e do escapamento ficaram ótimos. Mas a dificuldade de ligar a moto, PROVAVELMENTE deve ser por causa do cabeçote. Aquela fumaca branca que sai quando ele acelera deve ser os retentores de válvula que estão deixando o óleo do cabeçote passar para a câmara de combustão. Se ele resolver isso E com os carburadores bem regulados, a moto vai ligar mais facilmente.
Mas no geral esta LINDA.

Obrigado amigo. Fico contente que tenha gostado. Na realidade eram vários problemas. As bóias dos carburadores mal reguladas, e parece que o motor não estava a carregar a bateria. considerando que o motor foi totalmente revisto com pistões juntas e vedantes novos, é provável que o fumo se deva a uma deficiente mistura de Ar /gasolina. Mas obrigado pelas dicas :) Um abraço.
Pena q aqui no Brasil seja tão dificil encontrar motos dessa geração com um minimo de qualidade para fazer uma "real café racer" o que podemos aqui é fazer o melhor com o que temos... O importante é nunca deistir se é o que realmente queremos!
Pois é amigo. Eu sei que aí é complicado. Mas pelo menos a abordagem neste projecto com a CB 750, pode perfeitamente ser aplicada numa moto bem mais pequena. Até mesmo numa Honda CG 125. :) Um abraço.

Pretty cool....I like the progression from barely running bike to ugly duckling daily rider....I have done the same with old Harleys, building custom bikes on a low budget, over a two or three year period....then the new paint and wheels and complete transformation to a thing of beauty;.

Looks nice but, the front fender had a structural purpose. It’s bracket provides rigidity when the fork wants to flex in a turn.
I think u need to review more about 2 stroke engine build, there is not so many reference. Nice contents man!

The origins of the cafe racer, come from taking a chassis that handles well and installing a motor that performs well , and styling it so you create less drag as you blast down the road. The original cafe racer was and still is the TRITON.

From many other comments I read on this channel, it seems that not all guys who had cafe racer bikes in the 60s have the same perspective as you. What you described, seems to be on the top level of transformations of those days. But from what someone already told me, the big majority of those cafe racers of the 60's, were very simple, with only some small changes on the handlebars. I'm planning to convert my old cbr250r into a cafe racer. The bike originally weights around 160kg. I'm aiming to reduce weight by 10 to 15 kilos and give it a better suspension setup. Wish me luck.
To be honest, I think the cbr250r is still too modern for a cafe racer project. Why don't You sell it, and try it with an older motorcycle? Cheers.

Lool. To be honest, I always tried to develop my scripts over the years. The essence is to be true, using simple words, and make the right pauses between sentences. These pauses give more meaning to words. Unfortunately, this is something that is becaming very rare on these days. Most youtubers speak too much words, and extremely fast. And this destroys the value of each word/sentence. :) Cheers.
