Watched it last month, during a film festival in Warsaw, Poland. Superb filmmaking - the script, direction, cinematography and acting are all excellent, though it's not a pleasant or optimistic viewing. I hope it's nominated for Oscar in the Best Foreign Film category.
Very "Blood Meridian" vibes. Also a not so pleasant book. In fact, there's hardly anything nice about the colonialist expansion in the Americas, from Canada to Chile, it's mostly full of blood and death.
Props to the trailer makers, this looks brilliant.

@tetleyT it is. I believe it was bought by Sony(I could be wrong) but I read they started production.
We need more movies like this at small scale and also large scale studio movies which feel authentic and have vibes of originality and as well as movies like they used to make in the 50s 60s and 70s. It should feel like they have shot in a real environment instead of using filters which don't feel real and organic and as a result of that it doesn't create that emotional effect when we don't see a real green tree or blue sea water.

Looks great. If your first thought that this is another movie where white men are painted as bad, well, you're wrong. I believe it displays facts. It does not paint all white men as bad. Unfortunately, many of them were due to how they were raised and how the society believed at that time. I am sure that there were more good people but they were silenced by the society. Imagine, watching a holocaust movie, do you say 'another nazis as evil people' movie? Sadly, many nazis were evil because they were brainwashed, after years of propaganda. However, there were people who voiced out or secretly opposed what their country was doing, some of which paid dearly with their life.

I think the choice suits southern Chile. It is cold and windy down there and I think it comes across with the imagery.

It doesn't want to paint all white men as bad, there were just a specific group of them, sadly, many of them in the past. When you watch a holocaust movie, do you say, Another "nazi bad" movie?

@@posteador No es la historia , es la forma de contarla , en el trailer vez una exacerbación de la cultura indígena como que fuera la máxima wea en el planeta tierra y una demonizacion del extranjero , cuando fueron ellos quienes trajeron la ganadería y el progreso y fueron tan valientes como para colonizar y establecerse en tierras inospitas , con un clima de mierda y ademas donde constantemente debías enfrentarte al robo de ganado por parte de los indígenas , que la.zona Austral sea una zona productiva se la debemos a ellos , no podemos ahora porque esta de moda la Pachamama y toda esa moda progre desconocer su rol en la historia y tratarlos de asesinos y saqueadores ,cuando fueron un pilar muy importante para el desarrollo de Chile .Indirectamente la película te da argumentos de porque los chilenos deberíamos entregarles parte de nuestro territorio ya trabajado a los supuestos pueblos indígenas . Como contarías la historia tú? Que llegaron, se instalaron en tierras "vacías" y los locales digiéron, "Si, como no, bien gracias, pase Ud. Pongan cercos a lo largo del territorio y quédense con todo, gracias."
