So this video is missing a KEY step!. I had the typical FEP leakage issue and after trying my hardest to get the resin off the screen and only ending up scratching it up, I decided to replace it. I found a replacement part (which is actually for the 6Ks so I have to send it back) and starting to follow this video. They lifted the screen up with ease in the video. Mine did not lift up at all, not a budge. I tried to apply some force and the thing broke. Luckily, I was wearing gloves or I could have cut myself on the broken glass. Use a heat gun to get it up. Oddly enough, the video does not show removing the glass, so hopefully the kit I bought comes with it...
My printer had the TM089CFSP01 type LCD screen, and the ribbon cable that came with it was actually too wide for plug, so I ended up just using the original cable and it surprisingly worked, I didn't even need to open my printer aside from the flat metal piece covering the LCD ribbon cable.
Tip: if youre having teouble getting your screen to work even after replacing it, make sure everything is connected SECURELY. If one thing is slightly off then it wont work. Had this issue with mine, and i had thought i had connected everything properly.
My FEP film tore and got resin on my LCD which hardened. Tried to clean it up but ended up damaging the LCD. I contacted support. They asked me to contact warranty. I did that. Anycubic, after a few emails back and forth, sent me a new LCD, the little PCB inside and ribbon cables free of charge. All of this came packed in a nice little hard case to avoid damage during shipping. I've got no complaints about Anycubic.
I just had to swap my screen out, didn't even have the adapter board in the video to remove so I don't know if they updated this design in some way or mine was missing one from the start?

replaced my screen that was provided by customer support by following video. DO i also need to add a polarized film? tried to print right after replacement and nothing cures.
The lcd screen that my photon mono x has is the model "TM089CFSP01", the screen version shown in the video and on the anycubic page is "PJ089Y2V5", would this be compatible with my photon mono x?
Is it useful to replace the cables and the printed circuit inside? Only my screen is damaged, so I do not understand the interest of changing everything ...
Anycubic changed the exact display model at some point. If you got a printer with the old style lcd, but have new style replacement, you need to follow thise steps-- had something to do with availability during covid19 pandemic if i recall correctly
So where can ou actually buy a new screen? and perhaps a screen with a buildt in screen protector. The lack of that is by far the biggest design flaw of this machine
Apparently they "upgraded" the screen connectors. I have two printers that have the orange connectors. When I had issues, Anycubic sent me the new ones and I can't get them to work. Like they are not compatible.
If you want to add a LCD screen protector, wouldn’t it make sense to add it while it is uninstalled from the printer? This would prevent any bubbles from uneven surfaces.
Just bought a Mach5ive LCD Screen Protection Kit, and the reason you don't add the protector uninstalled from unit, is that it would add a seem that could feasibly allow spilt resin into the LCD area. The screen recessed just a bit below the rest of the top is poor design/oversight or they may have wanted to put a protective screen over it but cut that out for cost (which I guess leads back to poor design).
Is there a step missing or something? Is the uv filter already on the screen? The border tape came with more stuff in the center. Is that the uv screen cuz now the screen isn't curing anything and the test doesn't look right. Doesn't have that black square in the middle.
@@cagrelitok795 so I eventually figured it out. Yes the filter is already on the screen. The problem was the firmware. Well they might have them on the site now or maybe I missed it. Might as well check before you contact customer service. Good luck.
