The joke about the neurologist as Evan poked holes for the eye pins was pretty crass 😵 (I *know* that that was done to patients but )talking about it in this way is contemtptuous
You use the wool laundry balls instead of dryer sheets. Like dryer sheets, they speed up the drying time, reduce static, and help soften a bit. They are also far friendlier to the environment.
I used to use dryer sheets but then switched to wool laundry balls and haven't gone back. I just love how my clothes feel with the wool balls. Also a little tip, you can put natural oils on the wool dryer balls and it will make your clothes smell soooo good.
@@craftedbyalison6592 I've found that the wool dryer balls work best in the summer. Winter gives too much static for them to handle, and dryer sheets do a better job.
I work at a veterinary clinic, and little versions of those felt balls come out of the laundry dryer every day. I wasn't aware it was crafting supplies. 😂
The needles do break after a while. They get stabbing fatigue I guess. Totally to be expected, don't worry. (Also, those thicc dense balls probably added to the strain.) Also, your creations are heckin' adorable! The catcus is just the spitting image of its big brother and the catstronaut is so sparkly!
They don't break after a while but they do become dull with proper use. Improperly stabbing the wool or hitting a wire armature is what causes breaks. They also don't seem to know of or have any different needle types or gauges at all. If they were to do some research they could make needle felting much faster and they wouldn't need to use the dryer balls at all. No shade to E & K though. Just stating the facts so they or anyone who sees this can learn. 💙
Omg there was an ad and I forgot what video I clicked on and the first thing I saw was the first two sentences of your comment. Out of context that sounded terrifying. My heart skipped a beat.
not sure if this was mentioned by someone else, but there are actually leather finger covers you can get to protect yourself from the needles!! I saw Rachel Maksy's needle felting video! While it may feel a bit more clumsy, it would help a lot from getting pricked too much.
I think the dryer balls also help separate clothes while spinning which helps reduce dry time by increasing air circulation between the layers of clothes
When Evan was putting the green on it I literally said out loud “Looks like a comb over” and sure enough he said it right after. That’s why I love this channel 😂
Fun fact: if you need really thin lines, you can unravel some yarn and use one of the threads from it to get a really consistent and thin line. I had to use this when making Calcifer (the fire from Howl’s Moving Castle), since his eyes didn’t look quite right without an outline.
Those little yellow eyes peeking out broke me. I made my husband come back and rewatch that part with me (he got up after the final reveal to grab a drink). Those are just the cutest creations EVA!!! Edit: Just realized that we were using my husband's account to cast this time and I commented under his name. He's going to be so confused. 😂😂
I loved these 😻 If there's anything I'd suggest doing different in the future, it's considering the order of operations. For example, if you started with the opening of the felt catcus and then did the outer base layer of green, you could create a 3D effect to further sell the idea that the black is "inside" the catcus. And the same with the astronaut helmet. Of course, you could still add more wool to do the same thing, but you'd save yourselves time, effort and material that way. That said, if you improvise and don't have a clear idea of exactly what you want to make, it's not so easy to plan ahead, of course. 😋
Some felting tips, you can use upholstery foam as a core to start your felting. Also avoid cutting the wool, pulling it apart will give it a smoother finish. If it is not pulling move your hand further apart. Felting needles are brittle and snap, it happens when you adjust your angle in the felt. Lastly giving them a bath in hot soapy water and rub them (wet felting) will give them a smooth finish and fill in the holes from needles. Also you can needle felt fabric and yarn, and non wool fibers.
I think you guys should do a video where you try to learn how to crochet! Or maybe following a crochet tutorial. I think it would be really fun to see and crochet seems to be getting popular so it might get you some new viewers too
The skin pictures is why it’s very important to moisturize and use sunscreen to protect your skin barrier. Don’t forget your skin is your biggest organ.🖤
My family uses laundry balls, pretty sure they help collect lint! I saw another comment saying that they help separate the clothes which is probably something they do as well. Great video never the less! I love watching you guys, it makes my sad days much better!!!
I had never heard of wool laundry balls, and after reading what they do, I’m positive that a fresh clean towel tossed into the dryer with the rest of your laundry does a better job, and saves you more money. Towels have many purposes, and even woolen laundry balls have like two uses.
Would love to see the best of cursed builds play list , since finding your channel I am always soooo looking forward to your next video , keep up the great work guys, 👍👍
Ah yes, the classic "stabbed it wrong and the needle broke". Or I don't know how common it is really, I used to needle felt as a kid and our needles would always break every now and then.
those laundry balls are basically reuseable dryer sheets. My dad bought them to replace dryer sheets a couple of years ago, and as long as you don't accidently take them out of the laundry room, it's actually less steps, less work, less worry, and less money down the drain.
The wool balls are supposed to replace dryer sheets. You can even use essential oils to make them smell nice. Cutting down on drying time is also a perk :)
Ha! Dryer balls are used in the place of dryer sheets (which typically have artificial chemicals and scents). We have a set just like those and they just live in our dryer...no extra steps involved. I also put drops of essential oil on them if I want to give the load a fresh scent. I also use natural phosphate free detergent with no crazy artificial scents. Better for us and our environment!
What laundry balls (or tennis balls if you have ones that won't off-gas in the dryer) do is break up clumps of fabric that stuck together and don't dry in the middle. That's pretty much it. They're not anymore antistatic than a wool sock, and any chemicals they'd have on them would be used up after a few uses.
im sorry this is unrelated to the stunning lil orbs but the song at 20:30 was used in a flash game on an italian(?) independent site and i remember those games being simplistic and fun as heck shame ill never be able to find them again! :')
14:27 I spand a little time traing to find that song cu'z thats play in Cube Escape games, if I'm correct, this is gymnopedie no. 3 from Cube Escape Seasons
6:06 we did needle felting in like fourth grade (Swedish school so you’re like 10 or something by the way) well and we broke the needles a lot it happens not something to worry about it’s when you go in at one angle and when you pull it out you go in a slightly different angle so it breaks the needle I’m just surprised you didn’t break them earlier
I can't watch needle felting videos 😂 I get so stressed and worked up for your poor fingers. I still let the whole video play in the background while I do other things because I want to support you guys ❤
I just put on this video last night to fall asleep to! I'm still not sure if I've seen it fully, I think I always fall asleep before the ending, which is totally my fault for watching it as I'm actively going to bed, lol. There are also dryer balls made from rubber (silicone?)! They can be used more often than wollen ones, but won't pick up pet hairs as well. They are more hypoallergenic, since they can be washed better, but aren't as natural as wollen ones. Pros and cons! Which ever suits you better!

I wanna try needle felting now
The joke about the neurologist as Evan poked holes for the eye pins was pretty crass 😵 (I *know* that that was done to patients but )talking about it in this way is contemtptuous
i got a idea for the next needle velting vid i thin you should velt a famose painting
i miss spelt alot
I’d meant to get some calk “Words are hard” merch but by the time I remembered between videos, it was was gone…
Ok but E&K's ability to not swear when they stab themselves with felting needles is a testament to their wholesomeness 🐱
You use the wool laundry balls instead of dryer sheets. Like dryer sheets, they speed up the drying time, reduce static, and help soften a bit. They are also far friendlier to the environment.
Exactly what I came down here to say.
I used to use dryer sheets but then switched to wool laundry balls and haven't gone back. I just love how my clothes feel with the wool balls. Also a little tip, you can put natural oils on the wool dryer balls and it will make your clothes smell soooo good.
So what does it mean if I still have a lot static in my clothes even usign wool balls?
aha!
@@craftedbyalison6592 I've found that the wool dryer balls work best in the summer. Winter gives too much static for them to handle, and dryer sheets do a better job.
Katelyn's cheeky icepick lobotomy reference had me cackling. You two (three including Joob!) bring me such joy.
Same lol

Also, your creations are heckin' adorable! The catcus is just the spitting image of its big brother and the catstronaut is so sparkly!
while that is true, if you look at the video it's clearly due to the way they were stabbing
Thank you!!
They don't break after a while but they do become dull with proper use. Improperly stabbing the wool or hitting a wire armature is what causes breaks.

we tried them but they were a little cumbersome - we'll live with the stabs haha
I think the dryer balls also help separate clothes while spinning which helps reduce dry time by increasing air circulation between the layers of clothes
When Evan was putting the green on it I literally said out loud “Looks like a comb over” and sure enough he said it right after. That’s why I love this channel 😂
A bit later the same thing happened to me when I said "it looks like a penguin!" And he said it right after
nobody's talking about the sneeze at 16:06?! that was totally a human sneeze - who sneezed?! ....but I always appreciate a pet cameo...

Dryer balls reduce static. You can also use white vinegar instead of fabric softener and it works better without leaving a film on the clothes

The editing on this was top notch, I really enjoyed all the add ins.
I love that their personalities are
Cat owners, chaos, crafting, laser cutter, and their love for each other.
The little eyes shining from the black of the Catcus was SUCH a good addition
You guys should do bob ross needle felting please that would be so cute and I loveeeeeeee your videos sooooooo much
12:32 evan's cactus has the fire elmo energy 😂 it is beautiful
I've been waiting for the short version of this live!! :D so happy that it's finally here !!
I was literally so confused, like didn’t I watch this for 2 and a half hours weeks ago
I loved these 😻

These both turned out amazing! So cute
You mention it's like painting. And there is those who make "paintings" by poking felt into canvasses. You should definitely try it!

I LOVE the editing! This is so funny! Thanks for showing us great crafts and making us laugh!
This is amazing. One second of your videos makes a viewer live an hour longer.
My family uses laundry balls, pretty sure they help collect lint! I saw another comment saying that they help separate the clothes which is probably something they do as well. Great video never the less! I love watching you guys, it makes my sad days much better!!!
I love how they're so good at everything they try! I'm waiting to see Evan and Katelyn try crochet and knitting.
Just got my Words Are Hard shirt and I'm wearing it while watching this!
i am SO HAPPY to see more needle felt content from you guys, agh i love it so so so much!!!!!!!!!!
I love using them in the dryer. It helps reduce static but also helps stuff move around more and makes them dry a bit faster
You’ve gotten paid for underwater basket weaving. So officially you’re profesional underwater basket weavers
Finally a video ❤
I can't live without your videos ❤❤❤
You guys should make a resin toilet seat with BEANS inside!
Very cursed but great idea
"hey you okay you've *bean* in there for a while"
And a felt cutting board would be awesome too!
Love it. It totally fits their energy xD
@@M1ckyMack thanks
when Katelyn was re-doing the pink mouth , i thought i saw a little red tongue , it would actually be super cute

When you said "so, where should I do the eyes baby?" It was so sweet🥰🫶🏻 you guys are my favorite couple
I'd love to see them try sculpting in the future

Ah yes, the most violent but calming activity that does not cause harm. (to anyone else- mostly you just stabbing your fingers)
So true 😂
i love evens derpy lil cat so much
Thank you, I tried watching the two hour stream thingy, but for a whole week, I haven't been able to finish it. This is much easier/ better. 😅
Have you seen the leather finger protectors for needle felting? I use them when I needle felt and they stop any stabbings very well.
One of the Crafters kits was felted pumpkins and I really liked doing them; I need to find more things to make 😊
The editing in this is great (as always)
He looks so cute 15:54
This tiny little green cat is going to be the death of me it's too cute 17:32

Would love to see the best of cursed builds play list , since finding your channel I am always soooo looking forward to your next video , keep up the great work guys, 👍👍
Ah yes, the classic "stabbed it wrong and the needle broke". Or I don't know how common it is really, I used to needle felt as a kid and our needles would always break every now and then.
Evan and Katelyn should needle felt portraits of eachother on the laudrie ball or mini versions of themselfs so mini superviser has a mini family
I’m so excited to watch this!
I laughed at the "in the other streaming room" repeating bit
Love the pantone squares!
5:30 "oh no. the needle... its broken" 😂
I watched this live I laughed so hard!🤣
😅 I love my wool balls for the dryer. I'm allergic to certain types of soaps 🧼 and softeners. Wool balls are perfect for my allergy needs. ❤

That sounds like a sensory nightmare 😭

i use wool balls in the dryer. i find softens without chemicals. despite wide use of dryer sheets, it isnt recommended to use them
So cute‼️‼️I want to try so bad‼️😻😻😻
2:57 I was just thinking that it looked like Muriel 🤣
I hate that I can’t sit and watch the lives even after their posted. So thank you for these!
You actually can! There’s a channel for them called Evan and katelyn uncut. I watched the stream for this video that way.

They help with static, which helps to keep pet hair off clothes! I have dogs and dog sit and they help a LOT.
This was such a great video, little funny moments all over the place. 'Joker's combover' especially had me laughing. 🤣
A surprising amount of crafting includes violence... I love it.
I know it was unintended, but the chibi catcus looks like it has four ears. 😂
Buff, bass-voiced Chad Katelyn is slightly terrifying
