“No, spitting on it is no good, what if I spat a little bit less”. The refusal to give up is what I call a great commitment to the artist process. Good job!
Roger undoes all the Creator’s great work, making the woods ‘look good’ and even watering the shrubbery in place of rain!😂 Great presentation as ever mate 👍📸
Going to have to re-watch as I laughed so much with your spitting exercise, couldn't hear what you had to say... All for the love of the craft! Nice one. 🤣
The Chinon CE5 brings back memories- I bought one circa 1990 second hand in the original box, basically your kit plus the big Chinon flash in a Dixons branded box. As a beginner that camera was ideal for learning the basics of photography. I can't remember what it cost me- less than £50 tho. Anyway, I've been taking similar photos of leaves recently and you've given me a few ideas on how to make better photos, though I'll be taking a small spray bottle with me ;)
Hi Roger love your photos as always love your enthusiasm a question please where did you get your little light pad looks like a handy bit of kit. Keep up the good work 😀👍
Oh, what a fellow won't do to save a couple Quid on a spritzer bottle! Seriously, I enjoyed it. I think that I would have used the green filter on some of the leaves (the one on the path, for example) to bring them out of the background a little more. That's not a criticism, just personal preference.
@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Try Glycerin, that's what the pros use. It makes nice shiny drops and will make things glisten and it's not harmful to people or the environment. (In small amounts). You'll need a spray bottle, preferably one that has a variable spray. You can also mix it with water in varying amounts to get the exact look you want.
Haha I just hope no one saw you spitting water at those leaves and then talking to yourself lol. I do wonder about you sometimes Roger, just keep taking the meds mate and have a lay down. Great vid.
Just ordered a yaschica c for cheap, im excited for it to arrive and hopefully it all functions. If not i got it cheap enough it will probably be worth fixing depending on what might be wrong
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Shutter and self timer where a little sticky when I received it. Little dab with some naphtha and all seems to be working as it should 😁 now to throw a roll in and give it a full test. Very happy for $60
Ive always found it difficult to get woodland pictures, ive never managed to get a woodland landscape picture thats good, theres always too much going on. But I love taking close up pictures of stuff in woods. Ill give the water trick ago to add some more effects next time. I might try a spray bottle.
Oh, I found this camera on ebay. It's a CE4. It came with 3 vivitar lenses and some filters and a flash. One of the lenses is a telephoto. All that for $45. I bought it.
Just developed second roll of 120mm fomapan 400 also 200 both developed with rodinal the developer that drained out was q green colour, is this normal for 120mm film ? Had no problems with same 35mm stock.
For Fomapan yep!😊 . Some do a pre- soak, but as I do one shot, it doesn't matter. Think different speeds have a different colour? Or that's another brand? - Have had it turn purple.
@stevecooney1361 It's from the anti-halation layer, intended to absorb light that passes through the emulsion, preventing reflections. There are some good articles on the Intartubes. I've never done a pre-rinse in nearly 60 years of processing B&W film, but I understand that some film stocks call for it. Guess I've been lucky with my choices! Mostly FP4+ now, with FP3 and FP4 (non plussed) in the past with occasional forays in to Kodak.
@@veivoli I was taught in college pre-rens3 is supposed to bring the temperature of the film up to the required temperature for developing. I don't do it and my films are fine, Ilford and Kodak don't use the anti- halation layer so don't make the water go a funny colour.
@@veivoli it's something you pick up along the way, glad to be of help. Was worried for a but that it'd effect the fixer- but it's 👍🏻
One of these times, you're going to post a video like this and there will be a surprise guest appearance by Steve O'nions. You'll both shoot amazing photos, Steve will complain that all his photos are rubbish, and the video view count will rival grainydays😁
Next time just empty the windolene bottle you can fill up at a lake you don't need to carry around excessive weight ha ha ha that spitting could get you banned ha ha ha ha...

I laughed a little too hard when he started spitting on the plants 🤣. I’m going to try this, minus the water. Great video.

Love the 'keep it simple' plan
Haha! That water spraying gave me a good laugh! 😄👍🏻
Love that shot at 2:00. I always enjoy hiking in the woods and finding hidden compositions in nature.
Thanks
Roger you hit the top spitting !!! I love it! Oh Boy!!! 😂😂😂
@7:18 hawk tuahh that thang 😂
epic!
😂
Thanks for a lot of inspiration from your different videos, not only for film shooters.
Wood-Details with tri-x 400 are now on my list for authumn...!
Stunning video, man.
You did a heck of a job, my friend.
And very pretty pictures too.
Very inspiring video.
Antoine.
Thank you so much 😀
The episode where Roger became a fountain lol. Great stuff as always mate!
😂 Should hire me out for kiddies summer garden parties.
Thanks for the inspiration! It's always a good day to learn something about photography.

Try the spray bottle. I find it won't give big water droplets. Thats it, it was a Dixons deal!
Wonderful shots! I need to start doing stuff like this. I have plenty of woods to explore!
I always find it surprisingly difficult but keeping it simple seems to work. So much to shoot there.
The water trick was well worth a thumbs up! 😂
Roger, any chance you could demonstrate how to use manual flash outdoors, please? Maybe use a basic, non-ttl camera or TLR? Many thanks.
Really liked this one. The spitting water never occurred to me. Now it's time to grab my camera and go out bush spitting...LOL
Inspirational as usual! Cheers Roger!
Many thanks!
Revival of Francis Ford Coppla's Rainmaker movie! Roger, the new Rainmaker 2024. LOL!

It's called Liber Video Pocket Light RGB
I'd say take a small cheap spray bottle with you so you dont have to spit water all over the place 😂

I've tried spray bottles in the past and the spray is too fine for large droplets. There must be something else out there to simulate fat rain drops.

maybe use one of those plastic plant sprayers you can get them in the pound shops.

I enjoyed this video. I've tried this and all my pics came out flat and boring. You had some good ideas that I'm going to try. Thanks for the info.

Great solutions 😂 ❤

So now looking at trying to pack a really small spray bottle to mist leaves with 😂
Hey Cuz, take a little spray bottle with you. If you add a little glycerin to the water, it will be great. Give it a go! 😂
