Retribution doesn't have campaign for every race, it's have one campaign that have slight variations during the mission depending on faction you play. And trying to make every faction doing the same set of mission made some dialogues very stupid, like when making Inquisition fighting Imperial Guards.
I see no problem in Inquisition fighting Imperial Guard. Just a standart tuesday in Warhammer 40k. The Eldar fighting Eldar was more confusing for me at least.
@@manolgeorgiev9664 the dialogue that leads to the fighting is most innate among all that I seen. As a kid I couldn't get into DOW II because I just wanted to play an rts like the first one... recently tried it over the past few months and absolutely loved it.
When I saw a space marine do a flip in the air like a league of legends character I knew it was going to be a dumpster full of dogshit and set on fire. Way to go from gritty realism to happy adventure times, totally didn't kill the whole series.
Probably the team that worked and the game was full of women, I can visualize them right now thinking that it would be a good idea changing from grim dark to flashy moba game.
Dawn of War 1 has Unification, and Dawn of War 2 has Elite and Vengeance of the Blood Ravens (Astartes) mods to add still new content to them. These are the old rts games, legends of the past. Dawn of War 3 felt like it took all the wrong cues from 1 and 2.
Love the first seven games across Dawn of War 1 and 2. The awesome storyline and fantastic voice work is what got me into 40k, with every race playing different from another and the music was amazing too and then Dawn of War 3 came... different art style, different voice cast, different team... it looking like a mobile game... Just why...
DoW I was my favorite. 2 was alright, but disappointing because of no base building. Still very enjoyable if you weren't looking for the expansion of the 1st experience like everyone else. However 3 was a letdown starcraft copy with moba stuff that made me feel the graphics were somehow worse than the prev 2 despite being better. Make IV liek 1 and maybe keep the heroes and I'll love it. Completely personal stuff: DoW I was my introduction to my 10yo non-english speaking self to Warhammer, and now I have started building an army a few months ago 21 years later in the theme of Blood Ravens just because of it. Oh btw.. Am I witnessing the birt of a new channel? Well have my like, comment and subscription.. FOR THE EMPEROR of course. Your fate is in your hands now.
Seeing this a year later. The mods for DoW1 are great and increase playability greatly. Space Marine 2 has caused a surge in old Warhammer games, and the DoW playbase has grown once more.
I don't know what you're talking about with dawn of war 2. All the friends I used to stay up all night playing dawn of war 1 with really enjoyed dawn of war 2 when it came out. There was only a brief conversation when we all came to the realization it was completely different but I'd say half my friends made dow2 their main game and the other half stuck with the original, but of those people who liked the original better they all still played dow2 and never said anything bad about it. Relic decided they didn't want to travel the beaten path where the 2nd game is just the first with better graphics and less armies. They took a gamble and it paid off that time as the absence of base building allowed for a lot more fast paced action. Edit: wrote that before I heard you talk about the things dow 2 did well. Don't think the game was that polarizing though. I was personally really surprised to see a lot of the RTS diehards didn't hate dow2. That just makes their criticism of dow3 that much more damning...
DoW 1 boomer here I spent a lot of my teenage years playing DoW 1 it's the best RTS ever created as long as you have camera mod, it was poorly balanced with Eldar being stupidly overpowered but extremely fun to play and I still regular play it online in my early 30's. It's a shame Dawn of War 2+3 sucked and was only worth it for the campaign.
Like how DoW really made the Space Marine/Ork/Eldar dynamic their thing. Really a cornerstone of the the DoW trilogy. I like that. Whoever came up with that, good job. Travesty there being no Dark Eldar or Sisters of Battle in any of them except the worst DoW 1 expansion tho
@@Theobserver6897 If you don't count the terrible written characters and the terrible voice acting for the races without the mods then it's the 2nd worst just after Dawn Of War 3.
@@dr.feelgoodmalusphillips2475 don't forget all the weird unit caps they added in soulstorm. For example you could only have one of each terminator squad, one land raider, two predators. Or the imperial guard could only have two leman russ tanks, and only three basilisks. I dunno who thought that was a great idea, but it ruined the multiplayer for soulstorm for alot of people. Before hand, the better the unit, the more slots it took up, so you could have only terminator squads, but you'd only get about 4-5 squads, whereas u could have 10 tactical marine squads instead. It added longevity to the game and meant people could play in there own style, but the unit caps they added in soulstorm basically meant every one played the same.
I just wanted a stand alone Last Stand game from DoWII. I sunk so many hours into that game mode and never really touched PvP... If they made it stand alone and better with more characters I would be so happy, I've even thought about how to make it better as well... But no one cares.
In 2000 they started branching out into games?!? My dear sweet RUclipsr, playing Space Crusade and Space Hulk on a 486 in the mid 90s is what got me hooked on 40k
I mean true! But seeing as they sadly sold less units of those than they did boxes of 5th edition starter sets, I just cant count them as a genuine try Havent played space hulk in over a decade though, that stuff was so freakin cool
i feel that the guys of relic wanted to emulate the actual wargame in DoW 2, cuz it's feels like the wargame, having squads, using covers, capturing strategic points, and deploy units in the map
What happened? MOBA's were hot at the time and they thought that would bring in a new audience. So they ignored all the fan feedback from the people still playing DoW I & II and went hard in on the MOBA angle for DoW III only to crash and burn because their existing audience was screaming that was not what they wanted and the mythical "new audience" never showed. The shot themselves in the foot and they deserved to fail.
DOW 1 Is a game I still actively play constantly, the modding has made the game truly feel like one of the best games ever. DOW2 is a fucking fantastic experience and truly fun af even though it's almost entirely different truly a masterpiece in a different way. DOW 3 is one of the saddest excuses for a RTS, Moba, or whatever the fuck it's supposed to be that I have ever sadly had to see with potential that cannot be believed ruined by a strange af art style, a HORRID gameplay loop for multiplayer, a piss poor story, mediocre voice acting, OP af heros, and a lack of physics even by 40k standards. Truly sad considering the hype and expectations but they tried to please both fans of DOW 1 and DOW 2 and instead ended up pleasing literally no one.
They had video games since amiga64 at least.earliest game I played was space crusader which was from the 80s,when 40k was rogue trader.still one of the best 40k games as well
I mean true, but seeing as these didn't sell more COMBINED than the 5th edition starter set, and were not even from GW directly, I can't count them as a true try
im pretty positive about dow4 becoming a thing honestly. and if they do i hope they take the best from 1 and 2, beucase i personally loved both, and sure dow2 didn have base building but it still was an RTS and you still had to be very active on the map to fight for important resources and be tactical about how you used your shit. regardless of no base building, it was an RTS.
I really like DoW 3, Yeah the heroes are a little over the top but the maps and play style reminded me of the first one a lot. I wish they would have started out with more races like chaos, imperial guard or the nids, then I think it would have been better received
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War was the best RTS I ever play and collect them physically (with t-shirt!). DOW2 is more focused on the standalone campaign. I still enjoy and reply from time to time because of the great story and music. It's a shame DOW3 didn't do well but i going to get it once i upgrade my graphic card. i am sad to miss out the collector edition box set.
DOW 3 happens on a knight world. but barely any knights showup (there is solaria and thats it) which is kinda funny. DOW has been my official first dip into warhammer culture (aside from Freeblade, but we don't talk about that) and damn impressive it was for a game from 2004. Currently going through winter assault which made me view the guardsmen much more heroic than I already did. I played soulstorm with mods on some skirmishes yet still havent got into the campaign
I loved the first game. But something that is little stupid is when you stand right in the open in a firefight and spam bullets.. Thats why DoW 2 is far far better! Love the more control your soldiers and taking cover when in a firefight.. Sure hope for a DoW 4 that goes back to how DoW 2 was.
I would love a Dawn of War MMO where you control just one hero like in DoW 2 Retribution's Last Stand. Playing as Imperial guardsmen, Commissars, and Space Marines, deployed to hundreds of planets, dozens having active battles / wars at the same time. So everyone would be participating in the active war effort. We get NO CHOICE on where we are deployed, only your character customization and gear / vehicle / squad unlocks are permanent, from there the developers can take the roles of General or Admiral, taking you to battle or to defend soon to be attacked positions, assigning you to daily quests and side arcs based on the planets or parts of space you are currently deployed. From Citadel planets, to Majestic Armadas, you could be deployed anywhere at any time. Even adding the simplest of tasks like cooking, maintaining infrastructure, patrolling districts that contribute to the war effort in notable ways. Rather than forcing players to do these basic tasks on "slow" days, their character can be put on an inactive mode where they can be assigned to AFK roles while you are offline. Earning loot xp and income based on the jobs and prerequisites unlocked to be more effective at those jobs! I would prefer a half reward half perma death system where you can die in battle permanently, but your legacy is carried on through a set of namesakes based on your in game choices, earned ranks, and other accolades and transferred to a new guardsmen or space marine in your lineage. (Appearances slightly change each time but stick to a main theme so you still have some control over what they look like, or can be set to random!!) Short version, you die, you are instantly replaced by another guardsmen that you left passed your gear and missions off to. Meanwhile previously unlocked items in your armory simply need to be crafted just once and then they are legacy unlocked, but must be "maintained" (if you fall in battle or gear is damaged you just have to repair it rather than redoing entire quest lines to access earned gear while giving incentive to playing tactically and survival.) This would be a PVEVE game, as Forces of change can turn NPCs in your regiment against you at a moments notice! As for adds, would love to stick with the DoW 2 Retribution reinforcement gear system where you can equip specific items for boosts or reinforcement drops like squads of NPC reinforcements, usable Vehicles (NPC controlled when dismounted), air strikes, extraction beacons, and more!! Honestly my vision of what a perfect DoW MMO would look like x"D
I remember getting the pirated copy from a friend of dark crusade and it was incredible. The campaign the voice acting the world building that was in that game brought me into the 40K universe. I eventually bought all the copies. And try to replay them as much as I can
My issue with the DW3 was the lack of 'your units' feeling. Dw1 - your soldiers are kitted out to fight whatever foe you are facing. DW2 - Your heroes are kitted out with troops as support... With 3rd expansion letting you stick with heroes and modify troops. Dw3 - MOBA without much customization and it copied Star craft in a sense with pros being cheap, weak, but lots of units (zerg) humans being middle of the group (terrain) and Elder being costly, but strong (Protoss) and it really did not help with the campaign ignoring cannon lore or the previous games while trying to also do call backs to the previous game. Worst part of DW3 - No hero last stand... Seriously when your major focus is what MOBA clone heroes can do then why not do what DW2 did and let you use those heroes against waves of cannon fodder? Because DW3 troops were cannon fodder in the most simplest form. Or that's how I felt having played through all three versions of the game. The RTS, the RPG, and the MOBA.
I still play the games today, all the expansions with the modes added , even elite mode. My dream is someone to make a warhammer campaign with all the primarch's like the Horus Heresy campaign . And you to have a mission with each chapter , like the campaign in warcraft 3 when you play first with humans, then undead, orcs , elves . With all the events from each planet , Istvan V betraying , corruption of Horus , and splitting the legions . And each legion with its story line and missions ! That would I want !
Dawn of war 2 is probably the best Dawn of War game. It's the only one that actually reflects the lore power levels. It's the only one that actually involves tactics. And it isn't tedious as you don't have to deal with boring crap (like base building), you just get straight into the action.
base building isn't tactics? Thats pretty contradictory statement right there. Ofc I understand that you want action immediatly the game starts. Nothing wrong in that. Nothing beats the adrenaline when you build your base and scout ahead with some units and encounter a player with stronger units, advancing your base. But you still have just barely enought time to make matching units by thr time they reach you. And because ypu didn't waste recources on better units at start, you have another scout units reclaming resources around the map... Thats strategy baby!
Base building is decorating and making your mark. It's one of the best bits. Using Chaos Daemons via Unification mod in Soulstorm is even cooler, with custom maps, too 😎
I still completely expect a 40k game from Creative Assembly, whether it's a Total War Warhammer 40k, or whether they make Dawn of War 4 (I mean Sega owns the IP and CA) as they have basically been printing money with Total War Warhammer, and CA definitely have the experience with everything from the Total War series, to Halo Wars 2 and Alien Isolation
I still remember the day when out of nowhere the trailer for DoW 3 popped up but once the gameplay was revealed I was totally shocked. They did nothing like most of the playerbase asked. I still hope that we at least get a DoW 1 Remaster. For me personaly a technical Update would be enough, so the hardware can be used completely. Mod user will know the issues with the De-Synch because massive battles. But let's hope someone will pick it up and make a beloved DoW4. I mean...Space Marine was dead...and got revived now...and it does look pretty good so far!
I personally always thought dow2 did a better job of representing how warhammer 40k armies actually operate, no 40k army builds a base and starts making troops and vehicles in the middle of war they bring them with them fight the war then leave and resupply
Thank you for this awsome Video. I still hapo there will be an dow 4 some day. Maybe If space Marine 2 is successfull, there is a Chance that It will Happen. I still Love Dow 2 and Play the Elite Mod frequently
DoW 2's Eldar didn't want to bring the Tyranids to the planets considering Tyhpon is considered a craftworld. And it makes no sense for them to bring Tyranids to Aurelia considering Tyranids doesn't give a shit who you are, you're biomass.
@@Dutch40KGuy Hey took me 2 days to watch it all my bad: I feel like you really didn't went into too much detail on why players enjoyed and disliked a specific game but I really did enjoy the video for me as someone who first played dawn of war in 2020 I think the reason I liked the series was how simple and easy it was to play it all. Strategy games were never really my thing but everyday I open dark crusade and do a skirmish battle its just too fun its all too easy to understand and characters, voice acting, music and the visual all makes this game the best I love Chaos Rising with all its posibilities the choices the dialogue yet I HATE THE FUCKING GAMEPLAY. Edit: I got into 40k just like most in recent years with Astarteas but Dawn of War really sold me the entire universe. (now I spend copius ammounts of cash on plastic crack)
The animations of Dreadnoughts in melee, grabbing enemies and breaking their backs just like in the intro cinematic, made me a lifetime fan of WH40k (and Dreadnoughts). The first game was truly epic. That said, I did love the arena horde mode in DoW2. Where it failed to be a great RTS, it made up for it as an wild PvE experience.
they ditched the base building. and when they brought it back it was dumbed down and minimalistic. the strategy aspect was all but gone with the closest thing to strategy you had was some cover
@@Dutch40KGuy I played them all and even though I wouldn't say dawn of 2 and 3 were bad games I'd certainly say they were forgettable at best and should have been stand alone titles. Instead of tarnishing the legendary legacy of the dawn of war rts franchise.
i remember one dow3 online match, playing as orks vs eldar, my whole army was rebuilt in my base after it was crushed, enemy started to move, with his titan, i sent the asteroid to home in on my weird boy, ported the weirdboy into the army(on the wraith titan) and that single move destroyed the whole army, some weird shit since dow3 was so negatively received the support ended, they wanted to put necrons in via expansion
@@Dutch40KGuy I can't speak for the RoW, but in the UK they were pretty big. The gaming market was of course, considerably smaller. Dark Omen was one of the first games to use dedicated 3D GPU cards like the 3Dfx.
It must admit, after change of mechanics between DoW and DoW2, I thought I would hate the second iteration but I did like it. It meant a change of tactics and the way i played the game, where it almost became a RPG, I keep playing both. I did try the DoW3 and I wanted to like it, but I cannot.
Dawn of war one and two and like two kids. The parents look at them and think "both good, but different". They are different, do things differently, are good at different things, but you can spend time with each and still have a good day. The those parents went and had a third kid..... Still ok, but they just didn't have the impact in the house, are a bit way out there but still fun to hang out with. Dawn of three has the hero characters from 40K 2nd edition.
I would add that despite DoW 1 vanilla having a decent balance for pro play (I've watched over ten thousands hours of 1v1 (help me)... Eldar kinda imba but shhh) MOST of the players, I'd estimate about 90%, play mods, Ultimate Apocalypse and Unification the quote the big ones. And these mods are still (slowly) getting better and better to this day! But I'll say as people always say in ANY DoW1 stream I watch: I wish the game get remastered someday. Not necessarily/only for the graphics, but with a better engine = not restricted to 4GB, the mods wouldn't be as limited/unstable. Anyway, thank you for the video, sweet nostalgia.
They got rid of base building and made it more of an MOBA. I played the originals as IG or Eldar in multiplayer. Eldar was top tier play with web ways.
I was top Eldar in DoW1 for a while, along with a couple of other dudes who must have had bionicly enhanced fingers for giga-APM. Stuck around through DoW2, lost a bunch of tournaments to Ravener nids vs my Farseer bc fuck nids so much omfg. Tried DoW3 for all of 5 hours before giving up on the franchise. Loved it, love the universe, but trying to make Dawn of Company of WarHeroes was Relic's worst mistake, then trying to make Dawn of DotaWar was the final nail.
the first Dawn of War game I played was DoW1 on disc plus expansions, and I don't know how many hours I played the first faction I played was the Space Marines, but I fell in love with the Orcs and when DoW2 was announced I was excited, and I will admit I was surprised that will no Base building but to be honest I ended actually enjoyed the new gameplay, and it was an awesome to watch my units use cover and having several dog fights and skirmishes on the map and the details on the models nice, and when DoW3 was announced I was excited to see they will combined the Base building of DoW1 and the cover mechanic of DoW2 and how they design the models and when DoW3 was released, Heroes was to OP in my opinion and model design was good but a bit cartoonish in my opinion and the campaign did not hit the same as DoW1-2 campaign in my opinion and then there was the MOBA stuff and excetera excetera, but I would still recommend DoW 1 or 2 to anyone who's looking for a good strategy game.
I actually paint my army as Blood Ravens, because I loved them even after finding out about all the other chapters, primarchs and reading lexicanum "from cover to cover". There's just something about their mystery and hinted connections to some *cough* thousand sons *cough* traitor legion. Also, the memes
Dow 1 introduced me but Dow2 got me hooked, it was darker and grittier than Dow1. If only it had the same scale of gameplay as Dow1 and the dark and gritty feeling when playing Dow2. Then Dow3 would be the game that would continue the franchise,, not end it
Dawn of War was my first real experience with 40k, having gotten into it after my first RTS ever, Star Wars: Empire at War (imo, the best RTS of all time). I have the entire DoW series (even 3) but I’m stumped on Winter Assault. I just can’t get a hang of how to play the Eldar.
DoW is still receiving plenty of content via mods like Unification, so I just come back to play that. I wish that we could get new campaigns with the extra races, but it's still very fun playing online or even comp stomp. It just can't be beat.
They should go back to the first DOW formula with fresh graphics and updated UI. They should call it DAWN OF WAR: HORUS HERESY and take us through key moments of the heresy, like game one can be up to Istvaan V as the traitor legions with a spinoff expansion covering the fall of Lorgar and burning of Prospero. Game two should focus on Signus Cluster, Calth and Imperial Secundus then the third can be Seige of Terra. GW's bank account would go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Edit: Also get rid of the gimmicky cartoony look of the third game. Get a truly grimdark aesthetic showing the blood, sweat and gore of Warhammer 30k.
i still love the Dawn of war games i wish 3 did get some more support it had good potential but i think the focus was to hard on the moba heroes and lack of maps/races in the base game really killed it the modding community has kept Dawn of war 1 and 2 alive hard though
Its mind boggling that 2 and 3 werent just 1 with newer graphics a bigger campaign map more factions etc. I genuinely do not know how a company could miss the mark so fuckin hard. Twice.
I've began playing DoW1 back when Dark Crusade launched. It was an amazing game that me and my friends played so much, and DoW2 was more or less an upscale. I believe that we're still in the camp of 'sure it's not a full strategy basebuilding game anymore, but it has a lot of tactical fun that focuses on battles more than blobs'. I like both to be fair, DoW3 has unfortunately been quite the letdown. I however will say that while GWS seems to not want to invest in the RTS genre, they're solidly courting the TBS genre. Mechanicus and Battesector along with other tactical-combat games are really making the waves. RTS has more or less had hope with DoW and Battlefleet Gothic.
@@Dutch40KGuy absolutely did. You did an amazing job with researching the background and giving your oppinion. Some people have a skewed view on which game is better (the DoW1 vs DoW2 debate), but you did amazing in presenting both games in a good light.
I remember always hoping the Dawn of War series would eventually create the ultimate RTS something of a cross between Dawn of War and Supreme Commander featuring almost every playable faction at that time but unfortunately it never happened.
On it's own the third one is still fun. The problem is the hero units are so overpowered compared to the normal units if 3-4 groups go up against a tank/heavy DPS hero unit the hero unit and it's ability can wipe the floor with all the normal units. The normal units aren't cheap either. can ruin a match fast.

Very much appreciate it!!! I am very new here yes haha! Only been at it for a month or so!
Great video as always, your editing gets better every time!
Thank you for stopping by!
I still play DOW 1 and 2 to this Day. Both fun in their own way. I never touched DOW 3 and I don't regret it.
Understandable
Having played the DOW 3 campaign myself, I can tell you that you're not missing much.
Yeah camera mod was very important. made it a lot more fun
Agreed!!
Worst Dow expansion? It’s the best one
Yeah, sadly it is too late by now :(

In 2000 they started branching out into games?!?
My dear sweet RUclipsr, playing Space Crusade and Space Hulk on a 486 in the mid 90s is what got me hooked on 40k
I mean true! But seeing as they sadly sold less units of those than they did boxes of 5th edition starter sets, I just cant count them as a genuine try
Havent played space hulk in over a decade though, that stuff was so freakin cool
Don't forget Chaosgate!
i feel that the guys of relic wanted to emulate the actual wargame in DoW 2, cuz it's feels like the wargame, having squads, using covers, capturing strategic points, and deploy units in the map
It has a lot of elements more closer to Company of Heroes games.
Genuinely!
@@RedHornSSS i know that, but since i'm a tabletop player it's feels like killteam or vanilla 2.000 pts game
To me it feels like they took inspiration from Squad Leader the old Avalon Hill board wargame

Warhammer 40k 1 it will always be in my heart because I discovered for the first time the warhammer universe 40k.
Its amazing!
I am playing DAW1 and 2 once every year with Tiberian Sun. I love those games
They're incredible
I KNOW RIGHT! they could've at least tried satisfying at least a part of the community
By the time of DOW3, Relic had been hit by layoffs, it was no longer Relic at that point sadly.
That is super sad to hear :(

They had video games since amiga64 at least.earliest game I played was space crusader which was from the 80s,when 40k was rogue trader.still one of the best 40k games as well
I mean true, but seeing as these didn't sell more COMBINED than the 5th edition starter set, and were not even from GW directly, I can't count them as a true try
God damn you need more subs, the effort put in is amazing!
I do my best!!
im pretty positive about dow4 becoming a thing honestly. and if they do i hope they take the best from 1 and 2, beucase i personally loved both, and sure dow2 didn have base building but it still was an RTS and you still had to be very active on the map to fight for important resources and be tactical about how you used your shit. regardless of no base building, it was an RTS.
Great vid for your subscriber count. Should have more definitely.
I just started a month ago! You guys are amazing! Glad you liked it!!
@@Dutch40KGuy this is amazing for a month. Well wishes ahead.
Much love!
Good video! For me DoW2 is the best RTS I have ever played, independent of base building. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Wow great video to dabble with 40k.and I'm sure everyone thats loved DoW will love thus video
Yessir!
I really like DoW 3, Yeah the heroes are a little over the top but the maps and play style reminded me of the first one a lot. I wish they would have started out with more races like chaos, imperial guard or the nids, then I think it would have been better received
Definetely!
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War was the best RTS I ever play and collect them physically (with t-shirt!). DOW2 is more focused on the standalone campaign. I still enjoy and reply from time to time because of the great story and music. It's a shame DOW3 didn't do well but i going to get it once i upgrade my graphic card. i am sad to miss out the collector edition box set.
that is sick though!!
Definitely try out the campaign! It's worth it, even with all the issues surrounding the game
Stupid? Maybe yes. CHeck Napoleons era ;-)
Meanwhile previously unlocked items in your armory simply need to be crafted just once and then they are legacy unlocked, but must be "maintained" (if you fall in battle or gear is damaged you just have to repair it rather than redoing entire quest lines to access earned gear while giving incentive to playing tactically and survival.)
This would be a PVEVE game, as Forces of change can turn NPCs in your regiment against you at a moments notice!
And try to replay them as much as I can
12:45 minor gripe - wouldn't call Total War an RTS game
is it turn based game?
They should do W40K Total War game!!
That'd be amazing!
Agreed! hope you enjoyed the video tho!
That sounds like a SICK idea!!
Hope you guys enjoyed the video though 🤭
@@Dutch40KGuy Yes. It was really informative and reasonable.
Glad to hear!
I mean true, yet then, dont market it as an RTS, as it simply wasnt an RTS
Thank you for this awsome Video. I still hapo there will be an dow 4 some day. Maybe If space Marine 2 is successfull, there is a Chance that It will Happen.
I still Love Dow 2 and Play the Elite Mod frequently
DoW 2's Eldar didn't want to bring the Tyranids to the planets considering Tyhpon is considered a craftworld. And it makes no sense for them to bring Tyranids to Aurelia considering Tyranids doesn't give a shit who you are, you're biomass.
dawn of war 3 happened.
But first let me watch the video
LMAO, TRUE! hope you enjoy it!!

@@Dutch40KGuy I can't speak for the RoW, but in the UK they were pretty big. The gaming market was of course, considerably smaller. Dark Omen was one of the first games to use dedicated 3D GPU cards like the 3Dfx.
Conversely, the graphics requirements probably hurt it, most people didn't have those expensive new cards that early.
It must admit, after change of mechanics between DoW and DoW2, I thought I would hate the second iteration but I did like it. It meant a change of tactics and the way i played the game, where it almost became a RPG, I keep playing both. I did try the DoW3 and I wanted to like it, but I cannot.

A Dawn of war IV with the base building of dow 1, graphics and animations of dow 2, textures and commanders of dow 3.
heck yeah
Dawn of war one and two and like two kids. The parents look at them and think "both good, but different". They are different, do things differently, are good at different things, but you can spend time with each and still have a good day.
The those parents went and had a third kid..... Still ok, but they just didn't have the impact in the house, are a bit way out there but still fun to hang out with.
Dawn of three has the hero characters from 40K 2nd edition.

I would like to recommend DoW 2 elite mod . It is Community update mods with continue balancing and updates . It also add a new faction as well .
Heck yeah!
Currently playing DOW 2, its the only one in the series I've played and I'm really enjoying it.

Ah okay!
the first Dawn of War game I played was DoW1 on disc plus expansions, and I don't know how many hours I played the first faction I played was the Space Marines, but I fell in love with the Orcs and when DoW2 was announced I was excited, and I will admit I was surprised that will no Base building but to be honest I ended actually enjoyed the new gameplay, and it was an awesome to watch my units use cover and having several dog fights and skirmishes on the map and the details on the models nice, and when DoW3 was announced I was excited to see they will combined the Base building of DoW1 and the cover mechanic of DoW2 and how they design the models and when DoW3 was released, Heroes was to OP in my opinion and model design was good but a bit cartoonish in my opinion and the campaign did not hit the same as DoW1-2 campaign in my opinion and then there was the MOBA stuff and excetera excetera, but I would still recommend DoW 1 or 2 to anyone who's looking for a good strategy game.
I still play DOW1 now and then, love the campaigns of the original (SINDRI!!) and of Dark Crusade (Eliphas voice was HOT)
I actually paint my army as Blood Ravens, because I loved them even after finding out about all the other chapters, primarchs and reading lexicanum "from cover to cover". There's just something about their mystery and hinted connections to some *cough* thousand sons *cough* traitor legion.
Also, the memes
Blood Raven memes are so good :P
Dow 1 introduced me but Dow2 got me hooked, it was darker and grittier than Dow1. If only it had the same scale of gameplay as Dow1 and the dark and gritty feeling when playing Dow2. Then Dow3 would be the game that would continue the franchise,, not end it
True!
A warhammer 40k game in a gates of hell format would be dope as shit
It would!!
Hi! I'm organized DoW tournaments and streams, thx for video
Hell yeah! Glad you enjoyed!
DoW is still receiving plenty of content via mods like Unification, so I just come back to play that. I wish that we could get new campaigns with the extra races, but it's still very fun playing online or even comp stomp. It just can't be beat.
Agreed!
I don't necessarily need or want a DoW4, but i could easily shell out money for a remaster of DoW1 and its expansions.
Same for me!

I did enjoy the character customization of 2 though
Dawn 1 with the unification mod bloody perfection primarchs and everything
Yeah it slaps!
RTS has more or less had hope with DoW and Battlefleet Gothic.
definetely! Hope you enjoyed the video tho!

I mean yes, but thats what happens with most marine heroes!
