bass is a HEAVY feature in the band, way more than most rock bands. They always give her time to shine. It's one of the things that really made them stand out to me when i first started listening. they looked so young here in 2014 though LOL.
Band-Maid is genre wise all over the place. This was their first MV, but they have gotten more frentic during the years. A lot more frentic. Black Hole, ticking in at 220 BPM is their fastest song, and their latest full album Unseen World is not leaving much room to breathe. The follow-up EP is slower (lol), but more aggressive. Their songs tend to be big wall of sounds and it takes some time to pick out every detail in a song, because they are so dense.

If I were to recommend what I would like you to see next. I would suggest their latest vid, a instrumental called FROM NOW ON. You can see how far they have grown in their almost 10 years together. Many western overseas fans consider Band-Maid the best Hard Rock live band to have come out in the last 30 years. Bar-none. They are also considered as THE bar above just about anyone. They have a huge catalogue of probably 140 songs by now. They are a genre of their own because it's hard to place them in any category. Many of their songs do have major metal influences. Some of it even heavier with most songs having the bass a prominent role, and the song arrangements technically complex. When you react to more suggested songs from them because you will then you will begin to appreciate why they meet or exceed the hype. 2023 is Band-Maid's 10th anniversary and they've schedule a celebratory tour in Japan and in the U.S. This is after having a successful tour last year in Japan prior to their sold out 13 city American tour + music festival last October and then opened up for Guns N' Roses in Saitama only days after coming back home. Their 2023 Japan tour has 23 dates and in the U.S. they will play Welcome to Rockville on May 18, 2023 in Daytona Beach, FL and Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival on May 26,2023 in Columbus, OH with a possible TBA date(s?) in August. Btw most of the same Band-Maid fans who say they are the best live hard rock band will also suggest another all-female Japanese metal band, Lovebites who are considered the best live Heavy Metal band to have also come out in the last 30 years and are also THE bar when it comes to metal music. They cover Power Metal but also do Speed, Thrash, Progressive, and Symphonic Metal. They are so technically incredible that they shame most metal bands. They have a 4'9" drummer that is a relentless machine, a singer with vocal pipes with an R&B/Soul background who used to be a ballerina (*she might be the only one in all of metal history), a 20 year old bassist phenom who is 10-12 years younger than her peers (the original bassist/founder who is a pure metal head left the band in 2021), and then there is the dual attack of Midori and Miyako who are one of the greatest shredding/harmonizing guitarists on the planet. One is a pure technical shredder who quit a pharmacy university at the age of 20 so she could learn how to play the electric guitar at a music academy and the other is a concert level classical pianist who can also play bass, drums, and keytar. This 2014 video was the make-it-or-break-it video for Band Maid. At this point Miku couldn't play the guitar since she thought she was only going to be a vocalist in the band. However this video did so well due to exposure in foreign markets, that it was decided that Band-Maid was going to be a successful project and that gave them the financial wherewithal to get started. This is before MISA and Saiki started dressing Gothic. Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!
Your just dippin your toenail into the Ocean known as Band Maid. These Ladies are so Phenomenal. Their Musicianship is Second to None. They have a catalog of I believe 140- 150 songs. Not a bad song within them. They can make you can make you tear up and turn around and make you smile. Such a Superb Band.

Never could understood the frequent reaction to the costumes. Band Maid is not the first, and won't be the last to use outfits to project an image. Their music is what shines. The fan fav ballard is Daydreaming. They also do instrumentals, and acoustics extremely well.
I think the same way. Their costumes are nice and look great, there's nothing bad about them. It's like the typical image people associate with a rock band: The Ramones, The Misfits or Kiss, for example. It's a plus, not something that people should have prejudice with.
Great to see you finally react to Band Maid. This is their first MV, from nearly a decade ago now, as others might have already commented. They've already had their US tour last year in the autumn & are planning more tours in the near future. Just a small tidbit of trivial pursuit that probably no one else thinks about, heh, & that is Band Maid & BTS debuted within a couple months of each other in 2013.
Good intro to the best band in the world! Definitely try something live next! domination or Freedom for some more from the drummer. For something more like a ballad I'm gonna recommend daydreaming. I saw them live in Seattle and it was a show I'll remember forever!
The maids just premiered a beautiful new ballad called "Memorable" at the Tokyo Garden concert. Hopefully it will get an official release. In the meantime, you have their whole catalog to choose from since they don't do bad songs. But, live performance is where they shine brightest, with the "Domination" official live MV representing a common entry point. Best band this short century. This is definitely one of their simpler songs. You should watch Domination LIVE and Play live on their channel to check out what the band is really all about. Those songs aren't even top 25 but you get to see their energy they create with the crowd. Unfortunately their newer "live" videos are without audience due to COVID restrictions at the time of recording, so you don't get a true feeling for their live energy. Their diversity rivals bands like Queen. If you really want ballads, you can watch Daydreaming (rainy day ballad), Endless Story (summer, happy ballad), and About Us (bittersweet tear jerker). If you want high energy, go with the Warning MV or Blooming MV.

I made the same mistake about BAND-MAID when RUclips kept recommending them to me over and over again. "What are they wearing? I don't want to listen to some manufactured pop band." Oops. . . was I ever wrong! Wait until you get into their newer sound. They are true operators on their instruments & Kanami is a genius song writer.
I felt the same before checking out Band-Maid "it's gonna be gimmicky" I think I felt that way because I was just introduced to babymetal, and I wasn't into that in the slightest. Check out "Rinne" for something heavier "Daydreaming" for a ballad "Blooming" for some great guitar work. "Influencer" is a good snapshot of their current sound. Any of their live proformences will blow you away.
Hey, enjoyed your reaction and have a few suggestions: Daydreaming is an old school Power Ballad, "Rinne" is more metal, "About Us" is a straight up ballad (a song the wrote to cheer up their fans during Covid Lockdowns), "Manners" is more 70's blues/grove rock, Blooming has a more progressive edge. they also have two banging isntrumentals on their channel "Onset (Live)" and "From Now On" which is their most recent release.
This was I believe, their first break out video. I don’t think that Miku the rhythm guitar player could do more than hold the guitar for this video. The lead guitarist has long since taught her to play and she now is very proficient. I believe that these ladies are indeed the best all around rock band on the planet right now. I am fairly certain that I have listened to their entire catalog to date which is quite extensive and I can honestly say that I could happily listen to entire catalog play through without needing to skip a single song. This was their first M/V, IIRC - they've improved significantly in the last decade, or so - yes, it was possible 👍😎 You've done some more reactions to them since this, but perhaps their acoustic performances would appeal, or "The Dragon Cries" is slower?
While "I Want to Hold Your Hand" is a memorable song, I doubt that the Beatles (were they all with us) would want it to define their career. In like manner, "Thrill" is, well, by Band maid standards, an ancient video (still memorable though -- it was good enough to get me to start listening to them back in 2015). However, a quick perusal of fairly recent material -- "From Now On" (instrumental), "Habana", "Warning", "Black Hole", "Influencer", "Without Holding Back" and "I Still Seek Revenge" (instrumental or vocalized) -- and BM standards (aka "classics", such as "Domination", "Non-Fiction Days", "Choose Me", "No God", "Play", "Onset" [instrumental] and "Moratorium" -- is more than worth your time. After you've gone through these, you'll only have around 120 songs to go.

Don't be affraid- The maid image was not imposed by the music label. Miku (red rose) was working in a Maid Cafe in Tokyo when she decided to form a rock band to contrast with the maid image. It worked, and here we are. A sold out 13 show US tour plus the Aftershock Festival in October. You will find many genre's in their music- pop/rock, classic rock, pop/punk, hard rock and some metal. The ladies themselves are just as interesting as their music.

BAND-MAID is a five-member girls rock band. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. The members have not changed. They are a hard rock band and fans consider them one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually have 20 songs and 2 hour gig. Formed in Japan in 2013, led by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato has experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara, Tokyo, and came up with the idea of playing cool music in her maid outfit. That's why the band was named BAND-MAID. "Thrill" was the first music video of 2014, reaching 2 million views in 2 weeks, and they escaped disbandment and decided to become a hard rock band. Also, they perform LIVE overseas and increase the number of fans. Now they write, compose and arrange all their songs. 130 original songs. bass is a HEAVY feature in the band, way more than most rock bands. They always give her time to shine. It's one of the things that really made them stand out to me when i first started listening. they looked so young here in 2014 though LOL.
Band-Maid is genre wise all over the place. This was their first MV, but they have gotten more frentic during the years. A lot more frentic. Black Hole, ticking in at 220 BPM is their fastest song, and their latest full album Unseen World is not leaving much room to breathe. The follow-up EP is slower (lol), but more aggressive. Their songs tend to be big wall of sounds and it takes some time to pick out every detail in a song, because they are so dense.

If I were to recommend what I would like you to see next. I would suggest their latest vid, a instrumental called FROM NOW ON. You can see how far they have grown in their almost 10 years together. Then watch the ballad WONDERLAND. Saiki's voice is absolutely beautiful and Miku's harmonies round it out perfectly. Or do them vice versa, doesn't matter because you then have a catalogue of over 150 songs to choose from. Welcome to the world of Band Maid.
Many western overseas fans consider Band-Maid the best Hard Rock live band to have come out in the last 30 years. Bar-none. They are also considered as THE bar above just about anyone. They have a huge catalogue of probably 140 songs by now. They are a genre of their own because it's hard to place them in any category. Many of their songs do have major metal influences. Some of it even heavier with most songs having the bass a prominent role, and the song arrangements technically complex. When you react to more suggested songs from them because you will then you will begin to appreciate why they meet or exceed the hype.
2023 is Band-Maid's 10th anniversary and they've schedule a celebratory tour in Japan and in the U.S. This is after having a successful tour last year in Japan prior to their sold out 13 city American tour + music festival last October and then opened up for Guns N' Roses in Saitama only days after coming back home. Their 2023 Japan tour has 23 dates and in the U.S. they will play Welcome to Rockville on May 18, 2023 in Daytona Beach, FL and Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival on May 26,2023 in Columbus, OH with a possible TBA date(s?) in August.
Btw most of the same Band-Maid fans who say they are the best live hard rock band will also suggest another all-female Japanese metal band, Lovebites who are considered the best live Heavy Metal band to have also come out in the last 30 years and are also THE bar when it comes to metal music. They cover Power Metal but also do Speed, Thrash, Progressive, and Symphonic Metal. They are so technically incredible that they shame most metal bands. They have a 4'9" drummer that is a relentless machine, a singer with vocal pipes with an R&B/Soul background who used to be a ballerina (*she might be the only one in all of metal history), a 20 year old bassist phenom who is 10-12 years younger than her peers (the original bassist/founder who is a pure metal head left the band in 2021), and then there is the dual attack of Midori and Miyako who are one of the greatest shredding/harmonizing guitarists on the planet. One is a pure technical shredder who quit a pharmacy university at the age of 20 so she could learn how to play the electric guitar at a music academy and the other is a concert level classical pianist who can also play bass, drums, and keytar. Lovebites also meets and exceeds the hype.

This 2014 video was the make-it-or-break-it video for Band Maid. At this point Miku couldn't play the guitar since she thought she was only going to be a vocalist in the band. However this video did so well due to exposure in foreign markets, that it was decided that Band-Maid was going to be a successful project and that gave them the financial wherewithal to get started. This is before MISA and Saiki started dressing Gothic. Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!
Your just dippin your toenail into the Ocean known as Band Maid. These Ladies are so Phenomenal. Their Musicianship is Second to None. They have a catalog of I believe 140- 150 songs. Not a bad song within them. They can make you can make you tear up and turn around and make you smile. Such a Superb Band.

Never could understood the frequent reaction to the costumes. Band Maid is not the first, and won't be the last to use outfits to project an image. Their music is what shines. The fan fav ballard is Daydreaming. They also do instrumentals, and acoustics extremely well.
I think the same way. Their costumes are nice and look great, there's nothing bad about them. It's like the typical image people associate with a rock band: The Ramones, The Misfits or Kiss, for example. It's a plus, not something that people should have prejudice with.

Great to see you finally react to Band Maid. This is their first MV, from nearly a decade ago now, as others might have already commented. They've already had their US tour last year in the autumn & are planning more tours in the near future. Just a small tidbit of trivial pursuit that probably no one else thinks about, heh, & that is Band Maid & BTS debuted within a couple months of each other in 2013.
Good intro to the best band in the world! Definitely try something live next! domination or Freedom for some more from the drummer. For something more like a ballad I'm gonna recommend daydreaming. I saw them live in Seattle and it was a show I'll remember forever!
The maids just premiered a beautiful new ballad called "Memorable" at the Tokyo Garden concert. Hopefully it will get an official release. In the meantime, you have their whole catalog to choose from since they don't do bad songs. But, live performance is where they shine brightest, with the "Domination" official live MV representing a common entry point. Eventually, check out some of the fancam videos from the recent US tour to see how much they love their fans, and vice versa. I envy the journey of discovery that awaits you. They are no gimmick, just passionate and supremely talented musicians - and delightful human beings on top of that.

Best band this short century. This is definitely one of their simpler songs. You should watch Domination LIVE and Play live on their channel to check out what the band is really all about. Those songs aren't even top 25 but you get to see their energy they create with the crowd. Unfortunately their newer "live" videos are without audience due to COVID restrictions at the time of recording, so you don't get a true feeling for their live energy.
Their diversity rivals bands like Queen. If you really want ballads, you can watch Daydreaming (rainy day ballad), Endless Story (summer, happy ballad), and About Us (bittersweet tear jerker). If you want high energy, go with the Warning MV or Blooming MV.

I felt the same before checking out Band-Maid "it's gonna be gimmicky" I think I felt that way because I was just introduced to babymetal, and I wasn't into that in the slightest.

Hey, enjoyed your reaction and have a few suggestions: Daydreaming is an old school Power Ballad, "Rinne" is more metal, "About Us" is a straight up ballad (a song the wrote to cheer up their fans during Covid Lockdowns), "Manners" is more 70's blues/grove rock, Blooming has a more progressive edge. they also have two banging isntrumentals on their channel "Onset (Live)" and "From Now On" which is their most recent release.
So, my recommendation is to jump all the way forward to their latest video, From Now On. It is a masterpiece. Heads up, it’s an instrumental.

This was I believe, their first break out video. I don’t think that Miku the rhythm guitar player could do more than hold the guitar for this video. The lead guitarist has long since taught her to play and she now is very proficient. I believe that these ladies are indeed the best all around rock band on the planet right now. I am fairly certain that I have listened to their entire catalog to date which is quite extensive and I can honestly say that I could happily listen to entire catalog play through without needing to skip a single song.

If you have any doubts about Band-Maid, just go to their RUclips page and play the first five tracks off their album "Just Bring It". I bet you can't stop at five and you'll keep playing tracks. The album cover for "Just Bring It" projects exactly what Band-Maid is all about; at first you see two lovely young women sharing tea, examining a flower, under the Moon, but then realize that the scene forms the image of a skull. It's a truly iconic piece of cover art.
If you are looking for the heavier stuff, they are songs like reincarnation, warring or from now on.

While "I Want to Hold Your Hand" is a memorable song, I doubt that the Beatles (were they all with us) would want it to define their career. In like manner, "Thrill" is, well, by Band maid standards, an ancient video (still memorable though -- it was good enough to get me to start listening to them back in 2015). However, a quick perusal of fairly recent material -- "From Now On" (instrumental), "Habana", "Warning", "Black Hole", "Influencer", "Without Holding Back" and "I Still Seek Revenge" (instrumental or vocalized) -- and BM standards (aka "classics", such as "Domination", "Non-Fiction Days", "Choose Me", "No God", "Play", "Onset" [instrumental] and "Moratorium" -- is more than worth your time. After you've gone through these, you'll only have around 120 songs to go.
You want a hot ballad? Daydreaming.

you guys should react to 3 of their songs Domination and Freedom both of those Live and Influencer Music Video they are really amazing they are my favorite rock band its funny before i listened to international music my rock and metal lists were set for like over 20 yrs but the last 3 or 4 i have started to listened to international music now my favorite rock bands are Band Maid from japan and The Warning from Mexico and my favorite metal bands Metallica is still number one but Lovebites is 2 and probably the most talented metal band i have ever heard and then my 3rd is Nemophila both from Japan but you guys should really react to those 3 songs i suggested please let me know what you think
