Actually "Thrill" is from 2014, 7+ y.o. song. It was a turning point in Band-Maid history: they were considering to break up, but suddenly "Thrill" went viral on Facebook and reached 1 million views almost overnight. The band and the world were saved. Now Band-Maid is totally different rock-band. They're already legends like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rush, Queen, Muse, RHCP etc., but with female touch and grace. They're making rock'n'roll great again: inspiring, entertaining, fun, merry and fascinating. Band-Maid ladies are hell-bent on the World Domination, to conquer the world by bringing their craft on to the people of the Unseen world.
Yeah the music scene in Japan is just mind blowing. Yes Japan is kicking our butts now. Bandmaid is the best hard rock band in the circuit today and it’s not even close. They are even better live. I would strongly recommend the live version of the song Domination … that will blow you away.
With Thrill they were a good band playing songs written for them. They quickly became a great band playing songs written for them. Then, for the last 4 albums, they have become a world-class band playing their own amazing compositions. IMO there’s no-one in Rock doing it better right now.
To have a first experience of Band-Maid at this point, is like sitting on a beach looking over a beautiful lake and thinking, "This world is amazing!" and not knowing there is a whole universe out there. There are so much more to explore and things you don't even have the imagination to even dream about. There are no limits known to Band-Maid. They are all over every musical genre and mixing them as they please. What is truly amazing is that they are not only mastering them all, they are also making music fun again in a world of industrial pop and metal played by people who look like they must be "serious" and "deep". B-M have deep lyrics, but their music make you smile and feel good (or cry when they what you to)!

BAND MAID for toddlers ... 2014. A good place to start as it was the breakout hit for them that saved the band. I say toddlers with tongue in cheek as this song is very simple and linear in comparison to what they put out today. This was a great starter song for you so you can understand where the band came from to use as a frame of reference when you listen to other tracks. THE best live Rock band on Earth. Just for a moment, forget they're all female and forget they're dressed as maids. Two members (MISA - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained pianists and musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard (almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago!) They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in your face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. OK, now that's explained, you can go back and marvel at how cute those outfits look and how incredibly beautiful all the band members are. The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal. Nice reaction to Band-Maid during their training wheels phase. The singer on the left is emblematic of how hard-working this band is, as 7 years ago she didn't even play guitar and is faking it in this vid. Today, she's an accomplished rhythm guitarist, vocalist and lyricist. This is one of those rare bands that consciously pushes itself to improve, so starting at the beginning with a song that is peanuts for them to play today is fortuitous as it will enable you to enjoy their progression. I think what sets this band apart from similar ones is the quality, quantity and creativity of their musical production over the past 5-6 years; it's mind-boggling when you add it all up. The five members of BAND MAID are all unique and professional music players. In the thrill, side guitarist Miku Kobato has just got a guitar and now she has grown into a great side guitarist certified by ZEMAITIS GUITARS. They are stoic about music and continue to grow. In one song, they repeat stop and go, weave various musical elements, and change the speed and rhythm. Official RUclips is a killer song that is all different.
Congratulations, you hit the jackpot, you discovered Band-Maid. Now you can enjoy music in so many different ways again, it never gets boring, you will never hear something similar and they are really hard working and over the top talented musicians... Band-Maid jumps around genres while mashing them up. You never know if you're get hard rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, pop punk, hardcore punk, prog punk, pop, etc. That's why it's hard just to recommend just one. While all are must-hears, I suggest starting with any of these: Original MVs: Dice, Blooming, Warning, Different Live MVs: Domination, Play, Manners/Black Hole
Loved the reaction! Since you started from the first video, it may be a good idea to see where are they now with the leatest video. It's a double live video (manners/black hole), and I think it would be a good second step for serveral reason: It's live, and they really shine live. The first song is similar in vibes to thrill but quite more refined as composition goes, and the second song is completly different, showing that they have quite a range.
I second this. Not only will you see live vs produced MV, but you will see how they've grown and evolved over the years. Plus, "Manners" is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Love the groove.
I agree with this recommendation wholeheartedly. Us old rockers all seem to gravitate to Band Maid. Led Zeppelin, Rush, Band Maid… see? They fit right in! Manners is great Groove based Southern rock sound… Black Hole is just an amazing Prog-rock/speed metal masterpiece.
Well, you may have a personal taste, but in fact it's true....there is no bad song from Band-Maid. In general they play Rock, but they move in this frame from one extreme to the other. From ballad over heavy to metal and back. And yes the Band-Maid army recommends live versions. The good thing is....you cannot make any mistake
This is their only video in which MISA the bass player wore a regular maid outfit. This was back in 2014 and the band had existed for less than a year. You can see that 2nd vocalist Miku Kobato, who didn't know how to play guitar before the band started, is really just faking it here.
I would recommend Alone MV, Real Existence, Domination Live, Onset Live, Blooming MV, Bubble MV, Daydreaming MV (Masterpiece), and to really blow your socks off, the girls decided to play an April fools day joke on the fans and released two songs under a fake name "Band-Maiko" Goin-cho and Secret My Lips where they are dressed as geisha in training...welcome to the Pigoen Hole. The bass player is MISA and you'll be hard pressed to find a more awesome and unique and awesome bass player (did I say awesome?). Exact same comment can be said for Akane (drums) and Kanami (lead guitar). This triumvirate will mesmerize you. Band-Maid excels in front of a live audience so any Live video from 2020 and before will suck you right into the Black Hole. OK, try Onset-Live and Domination-Live first. Great Reaction, Thrill was my intro to BAND-MAID. RUclips kept suggesting it and I was thinking "Maids, Really? Go home RUclips you're drunk." RUclips kept insisting so gave in and clicked.... WHAT? Did not expect the hard rock sound. I see others have suggested the newest live video for the 2 songs "Manners" and "Black Hole" Two amazing yet very different songs. Pick any song, they are all good. For a good selection of Band-Maid from the last year try the new Manners/Black hole live video, No God Live if you want to see an extreme bass solo. Go for the live videos, though every video is awesome, this is a band that plays live better than MVs and it is actually amazing they can pull off a complex metal song like Black Hole live. Domination, Freedom, Rinne, Dice, Moratorium, Blooming are all solid intros into their skills. One thing to note is the last 3 albums are completely written by Band-Maid. The lead Guitarist does the music and it is shockingly good, the Rhythm guitarist does all the vocals, including the english parts and the vocals. This is the best hard rock band out there today, especially playing live.

You did exactly the rite thing going to their channel because you can pick any song and you will be impressed, they don't have a bad song not even one, they are a band that can do 70s and 80s sounding rock or punk or prog or pop rock or any other you would like to name, they have it all.
Thrill is their oldest song -- they have grown much since then. They write their own stuff -- Kanami, the lead guitarist, is their composer, and Miku, the rhythm guitarist is their lyricist (and band founder). BM is Miku's child -- she worked in a "Maid Cafe" and wanted the cute look of maids coupled with heavy rock -- she calls that "the gap". The bassist and drummer come from the Tokyo School of Music -- the band are serious musicians. Everyone of them talented. I recommend both Freedom and Domination (live) for their middle of the road stuff. Then Manners/Black Hole for some funk (Manners) and speed (Black Hole). I also love Rinne (heavy, fast). They are such craftsmaids that they won't release anything bad.

Yes, rock is being saved by Japan and it’s in good hands. Band-Maid is an amazing (mostly) hard rock band and these girls are so talented and versatile musicians. Another excellent all-female Japanese band is Nemophila (not Nemophilia), a very recently formed band (late 2019). Songs: “Raitei”, “Oiran”, “Dissension”, “Life”, or covers like “Whole lotta Rosie”, “Aces high”, “The trooper”, etc. Another great all-female Japanese band is legendary Show-Ya, kind of glam heavy metal, active since the 80’s. Also, there are more incredible bands from Japan that I hope you react to in the near future.

As other commenter have stated: Welcome. You are going to get a ton of requests and you won't be disappointed by them... Even their weaker songs would be a highlight for other bands. That's how high the standard of the musicianship these ladies have. And now onto the rest of their music. I would advise going between live tracks and music videos so you can see how amazing they are.
I suggest you react to their official MV's in order from this one to the last one, that way you will hear their progression as a band. Alone is the first song of their own creation, from that point you hear the change in style with their own music.
I'd suggest Domination live next to give you a better feeling of how skilled these young ladies really are. And I agree, best hard rock band on the planet right now.

Actually "Thrill" is from 2014, 7+ y.o. song. It was a turning point in Band-Maid history: they were considering to break up, but suddenly "Thrill" went viral on Facebook and reached 1 million views almost overnight. The band and the world were saved. Now Band-Maid is totally different rock-band. They're already legends like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rush, Queen, Muse, RHCP etc., but with female touch and grace. They're making rock'n'roll great again: inspiring, entertaining, fun, merry and fascinating. Band-Maid ladies are hell-bent on the World Domination, to conquer the world by bringing their craft on to the people of the Unseen world.
Yeah the music scene in Japan is just mind blowing. Yes Japan is kicking our butts now. Bandmaid is the best hard rock band in the circuit today and it’s not even close. They are even better live. I would strongly recommend the live version of the song Domination … that will blow you away.

With Thrill they were a good band playing songs written for them. They quickly became a great band playing songs written for them. Then, for the last 4 albums, they have become a world-class band playing their own amazing compositions. IMO there’s no-one in Rock doing it better right now.

To have a first experience of Band-Maid at this point, is like sitting on a beach looking over a beautiful lake and thinking, "This world is amazing!" and not knowing there is a whole universe out there. There are so much more to explore and things you don't even have the imagination to even dream about. There are no limits known to Band-Maid. They are all over every musical genre and mixing them as they please. What is truly amazing is that they are not only mastering them all, they are also making music fun again in a world of industrial pop and metal played by people who look like they must be "serious" and "deep". B-M have deep lyrics, but their music make you smile and feel good (or cry when they what you to)!

Every one you randomly pick, will be your newest favourite by them. My Top Ten Band-Maid playlist is at about 57 lol... BAND MAID for toddlers ... 2014. A good place to start as it was the breakout hit for them that saved the band. I say toddlers with tongue in cheek as this song is very simple and linear in comparison to what they put out today. This was a great starter song for you so you can understand where the band came from to use as a frame of reference when you listen to other tracks.

THE best live Rock band on Earth. Just for a moment, forget they're all female and forget they're dressed as maids. Two members (MISA - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained pianists and musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard (almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago!) They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in your face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. OK, now that's explained, you can go back and marvel at how cute those outfits look and how incredibly beautiful all the band members are.
The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal. Future reactions I'd recommend, as they really shine brightest live, would be from the DVD they released in April 2020. Nice reaction to Band-Maid during their training wheels phase. The singer on the left is emblematic of how hard-working this band is, as 7 years ago she didn't even play guitar and is faking it in this vid. Today, she's an accomplished rhythm guitarist, vocalist and lyricist. This is one of those rare bands that consciously pushes itself to improve, so starting at the beginning with a song that is peanuts for them to play today is fortuitous as it will enable you to enjoy their progression. I think what sets this band apart from similar ones is the quality, quantity and creativity of their musical production over the past 5-6 years; it's mind-boggling when you add it all up. The five members of BAND MAID are all unique and professional music players. In the thrill, side guitarist Miku Kobato has just got a guitar and now she has grown into a great side guitarist certified by ZEMAITIS GUITARS. They are stoic about music and continue to grow. Band-Maid jumps around genres while mashing them up. You never know if you're get hard rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, pop punk, hardcore punk, prog punk, pop, etc. That's why it's hard just to recommend just one. While all are must-hears, I suggest starting with any of these:

Loved the reaction! Since you started from the first video, it may be a good idea to see where are they now with the leatest video. It's a double live video (manners/black hole), and I think it would be a good second step for serveral reason: It's live, and they really shine live. The first song is similar in vibes to thrill but quite more refined as composition goes, and the second song is completly different, showing that they have quite a range.

Well, you may have a personal taste, but in fact it's true....there is no bad song from Band-Maid. In general they play Rock, but they move in this frame from one extreme to the other.

It’s true that you can’t make a mistake with them. Thrill is among their least impressive songs… but it’s still a nice jam.
This is their only video in which MISA the bass player wore a regular maid outfit. This was back in 2014 and the band had existed for less than a year. You can see that 2nd vocalist Miku Kobato, who didn't know how to play guitar before the band started, is really just faking it here.
I would recommend Alone MV, Real Existence, Domination Live, Onset Live, Blooming MV, Bubble MV, Daydreaming MV (Masterpiece), and to really blow your socks off, the girls decided to play an April fools day joke on the fans and released two songs under a fake name "Band-Maiko" Goin-cho and Secret My Lips where they are dressed as geisha in training...welcome to the Pigoen Hole. Great Reaction, Thrill was my intro to BAND-MAID. RUclips kept suggesting it and I was thinking "Maids, Really? Go home RUclips you're drunk." RUclips kept insisting so gave in and clicked.... WHAT? Did not expect the hard rock sound. I see others have suggested the newest live video for the 2 songs "Manners" and "Black Hole" Two amazing yet very different songs. Looking forward to more reactions!
Yup....after years of feeling sad about the state of western music, almost all of my musical attention has shifted to Japan....Rock, Funk, Pop, Metal....it seems everything they do has some sort of extra spark or energy that makes it a fun listen....Welcome to the BAND MAID universe!....

"Thrill" was not written by them (provided by the label company). You may want to check their recent song called "Manners" (MV or live). It is written by them and has an old fashioned rock sound🤘😎🤘

Pick any song, they are all good. For a good selection of Band-Maid from the last year try the new Manners/Black hole live video, No God Live if you want to see an extreme bass solo. Go for the live videos, though every video is awesome, this is a band that plays live better than MVs and it is actually amazing they can pull off a complex metal song like Black Hole live. Domination, Freedom, Rinne, Dice, Moratorium, Blooming are all solid intros into their skills. One thing to note is the last 3 albums are completely written by Band-Maid. The lead Guitarist does the music and it is shockingly good, the Rhythm guitarist does all the vocals, including the english parts and the vocals. This is the best hard rock band out there today, especially playing live.

You did exactly the rite thing going to their channel because you can pick any song and you will be impressed, they don't have a bad song not even one, they are a band that can do 70s and 80s sounding rock or punk or prog or pop rock or any other you would like to name, they have it all.

Thrill is their oldest song -- they have grown much since then. They write their own stuff -- Kanami, the lead guitarist, is their composer, and Miku, the rhythm guitarist is their lyricist (and band founder). BM is Miku's child -- she worked in a "Maid Cafe" and wanted the cute look of maids coupled with heavy rock -- she calls that "the gap". The bassist and drummer come from the Tokyo School of Music -- the band are serious musicians. Everyone of them talented. I recommend both Freedom and Domination (live) for their middle of the road stuff. Then Manners/Black Hole for some funk (Manners) and speed (Black Hole). I also love Rinne (heavy, fast). They are such craftsmaids that they won't release anything bad.
Just wait, if you get into this band it'll blow your mind..🤯

But man..... they have a style and sound that stands out from other Japanese bands.
yeah. you need to binge watch all there stuff. there like viagra to the ears. and once the band-maid family knows you broke your cherry. they will sub. so do more of the gurls. i envy that your still a rookie . but also glad how much ive learned from these amazing ladies. i saw them live in 2019. blew me away musicaly and there personalitys are cute and cool as hell. if your like me. i listened to or watched dice next.

Yes, rock is being saved by Japan and it’s in good hands. Band-Maid is an amazing (mostly) hard rock band and these girls are so talented and versatile musicians. Another excellent all-female Japanese band is Nemophila (not Nemophilia), a very recently formed band (late 2019). Songs: “Raitei”, “Oiran”, “Dissension”, “Life”, or covers like “Whole lotta Rosie”, “Aces high”, “The trooper”, etc. Another great all-female Japanese band is legendary Show-Ya, kind of glam heavy metal, active since the 80’s.
Also, there are more incredible bands from Japan that I hope you react to in the near future.
Pretty sure you'll be watching BAND-MAID Alone but you won't be by yourself.

As other commenter have stated: Welcome. You are going to get a ton of requests and you won't be disappointed by them... Even their weaker songs would be a highlight for other bands. That's how high the standard of the musicianship these ladies have. And now onto the rest of their music. I would advise going between live tracks and music videos so you can see how amazing they are.
I suggest you react to their official MV's in order from this one to the last one, that way you will hear their progression as a band. Alone is the first song of their own creation, from that point you hear the change in style with their own music.
GREAT - next try BLOOMING MV my fav song and then power ballad Daydreaming MV.
I'd suggest Domination live next to give you a better feeling of how skilled these young ladies really are. And I agree, best hard rock band on the planet right now.
