'Lucille' was a huge hit by rock n' roll icon Little Richard in the 50's... George Harrison and The Beatles were huge Little Richard fans... Deep Purple covered 'Lucille' in their set since the 60's as Ian Gillan was a huge fan, as well as the members of Deep Purple.
DP one of my all time favorite bands and to have George playing on the song what a treat!❤❤❤❤
This was during Deep Purple's 1984 reunion and comeback tour for the album 'Perfect strangers'... This line-up (Mark II) had not played together since 1973... and they recorded a live album "Nobody's perfect"... followed by the next studio album 'House of Blue Light' in 1987.
Just prior to the reunion, Ian Gillan (vocals) did an album ('Born again') w/ Black Sabbath (He also had his own solo bands - Gillan... the Ian Gillan Band) ... Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) was enjoying a successful career w/ Rainbow, which featured Roger Glover (bass) since 1979... Jon Lord (keyboards) and Ian Paice (drums) spent a few years playing in Whitesnake, the band formed by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale.
GLORIOUSSS.!!!
MASTERPIECE..!!
DEEP PURPLE MK2 AND GEORGE HARRISON..!!!
AMAZING 💜💜💜✨
A Beatle and the Godfathers of Heavy Metal together...¿What else?
Great song and reaction, Becks.
Hi Rebeka 🎸 ! The people in Australia 🇦🇺 were so lucky to see a legend like George Harrison with the great Deep Purple 💜 ! Amazing 👏 👏 👏
Hi Rebecca, you're my go-to girl for Deep Purple 💗 💕. 130 million lps sold. 1973, the biggest band in the world in gate receipts and lps sold. Repeated it again in 1984. Rip Jon Douglas Lord 😢 🙏
This was the second of three concerts in Sydney from memory. I was in this crowd. So loud. I couldn’t hear properly for hours. Loved every minute.
I was washing dishes at a hotel Travelodge had at Potts Point when this was going on. I missed out on everything when I was young ☹☹
I was actually at that concert and didn't even know it was George Harrison until I saw the papers the next day! It was an awesome concert...
I should add that it was a time when remembering things didn't happen much especially at a huge concert haha!
Where is this in Sydney? The Hordan Pavilion?
@@CryptoSteve007 It was at the old Easter Showground but I think it is gone now. Like all good things.
Sorry I misunderstood. It was at the Entertainment Center when it first opened.
They did three nights in a row here in Sydney.
I was there, was very good.
And guess what? purple will be playing in Sydney again in less than three weeks.
You've got a crush on Ian Gillan🤣!! I saw DP in '84 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater and they didn't play this song, and no George Harrison either. Now I feel cheated.😮💨 Little Richard wrote this song in '57, which is why you may be getting an Elvis vibe. I can't believe this footage is 50 years old! And time marches on. Have a great weekend. Rock on!🤘
Lucille de little Richard es muy buena PERO DEEP PURPLE LA LLEVA A OTRO NIVEL POR DIOS !!❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
The Blues Just Won't Leave Me Alone by Orianthi ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lucille originally released by Little Richard in 1957
Fight Into The Pit Live At Sony Studios. Don’t as questions just react to it. It’s mind blowing.
GREAT SONG CHOICE TO REACT REBEKA
The Beatles and Deep Purple might feel antithetical, but Gillan's gig before the 1980s Purple reunion was, controversially, singer in Black Sabbath. A team up that also included drummer Bev Bevan of ELO. To rock minds these were things that did not sit comfortably. Gillan here, of course, is on fine form. I have a sore throat just listening to him.
This is a classic Trac. How many times have you seen George with other bands? Thanks Rebeka. Yeeesss maaàm.
Hi Rebecca you know that first little guitar riff at the beginning it almost sounded like pretty woman. Thanks Rebecca on show me how to find play Depeche mode videos.❤❤😊
Oh My Goodness..l was there..George was introduced as George from Liverpool NSW..a Suburd in Sydney..this was at the Sydney Entertainment Centre..now demolished..George was in Australia promoting his Book 50 Years Adrift..l remember we remember when he came on it was George..John Lord lived in Henley on Thames = FPS.HOT = George's Studio..FPSHOT..GOOGLE IT.. near George's Home at Friar Park..l was blown away..they were part of the Henley Mafia = Alvin Lee..etc..oh l could go on for hours on this story...yes I am Australian..memorable night..DP were on fire that night ❤ ps that is George in the trench coat with his back to the camera..= FACT 🎉

Little Richard released Lucille in 1957. Queen did a GREAT cover of it as the first song in a medley in 1977: ruclips.net/video/z0k8tMSgVww/видео.html
