Beatles Forever!
They are extraordinary, I don't think any band will ever be able to bring together so many talents and so much for music as they did.
1977. My sister in law and I were at a bar with a couple of friends. She knew I'd been a Beatles Freak since I was tiny, and I was 18. I can't remember why, but she asked me," Don't you ever get tired of The Beatles?". I just shook my head no. About 10 minutes later, the house band played a very good cover of Get Back. We all got up to dance. When we sat down at the table again I asked my sister in law if she was tired of THAT yet. Still trying to catch her breath, she just shook her head no, trying not to laugh.
The beatles is one band that's timeless. A 100 years from now, they'll be the greatest a 1000 years from now they'll be the greatest. The greatest band of all time, in my humble opinion. A 100 billion albums sold doesn't lie.
The rooftop concert was the last time all four played together in public. Historically, we know the tension among the band was high at this time, but what's obivous is that when they're playing together they can put that away for awhile and just enjoy it. They're good, they know it, and they still had the magic. While they couldn't know this was the last time they would play together, they knew the end of the band wasn't far off. Plus, with the Get Back documentary, it's fascinating to see the synthesis of this song from a rough idea to a polished piece of work relatively quickly, plus other songs from the Let It Be album (as it was ultimately released as).
What a banger, what I wouldn't give to be on that rooftop, filming this.
Join the club fellow fan.
Phenomenal yet bittersweet 🥲essentially the last live performance from the legendary band of our times 👍check out DONT LET ME DOWN from the same session one of my favorites 🤘✌🏻
Fantastic vocals and bass from sir Paul !!
John playing Lead Guitar on this one, and it was just right!
George had ' temporary left' the Beatles when they were building the song up & that is why John playrd lead
YES I LOVE THIS SONG ALWAYS...I LOVE YOU TOO FRIEND FOR REACTIONS
👍👍👍👍The fab four. Legendary. I used to own the 45 rpm single when I was a kid. Does anybody remember vinyl? Love this performance. Rock on!🤘
The last concert the Beatles performed together in public!
Now you know how we all felt listening to the Beatles, from when I was 8 years old, all through school, as a young adult. I remember buying a Beatles fan magazine when I was maybe in 2nd grade, and the 8th grade girls (women to me) went wild for it, grabbing it out of my hands. They were magic, not just a band. They changed everything.
They were like brothers, they loved each other, but couldn't always get along.
My mates dad was driving a truck on the road during this roof top concert and said he could hear the music but was really mad about the traffic jam. It was only years latter that he realised it was the Beatles.
Remember it oh so well brought that part of London to a stand still , police threatening to arrest them and John Lennon saying hope you enjoy the concert and hope we passed the audition. Just truly amazing brings back memories of happy times . I think you're being generous with your comments about the weather the weather in the UK is bloody off rain rain cold rain then more rain
Great reaction, my dear. ❤
Yes, it was a cold, overcast January day. But they soldiered on and had a great time.
Have you listened to Paul's gorgeous ballad, "Here, There and Everywhere?" If not, I think its beauty will bring you to tears. 👍
The Beatles were together for only about 7 years and started out as a live band in the early years. They tried touring in America but the crowds were so loud you couldn't really hear them. In 1967 when Sgt Pepper came out they had stopped touring which is a real shame because they were such great performers live. The music in this short set showed how great they were live and it's a gift to future generations that it was filmed. For someone who listened to them as a child and grew up with their music and loved it all it was bittersweet to think that this was to be last time the would perform together. When they broke up it was like losing an old friend.
Keyboards were an important musical element in this performance; wish we could have seen a little bit of Billy Preston’s playing.
absolutely ! no idea why they don't show him
Get back Rebeka, I can't think.
Wow, did they sound great!!!!
Get Back Rebekaaaa....Love this classic. They waste no time taking care of business. Awesome reaction and the joy on your face is infectious.
Hello there Rebeka! Let me say hearing and seeing young people like yourself enjoying The Beatles does my heart of 60 so much good.
Recorded Jan 30, 1969 on roof of Apple Records office 3 Savile Road, London.
You'll have to watch the recent brilliant Peter Jackson film to get an idea of all that was going on with their recording of the Let it Be album.
It is pretty remarkable that the band was not in one of their best phases in terms of getting along with each other at this point but the addition of a guest musician like Billy Preston forced them to be much more civil to each other and they ended up making an amazing record because they were being a bit more conscious to be pleasant around extra persons. The end result is legendary and it speaks for itself
fvkin vibed with tttheyir a ton. insane sonic material. how did I not know ttheym before? 😵Next reaction - October Ends DAMAGED 😍
For The Rooftop, John (who was usually the Rhythm Guitar) and George (usually the Lead Guitarist) traded places.
CAN YOU BELIEVE that someone called the police for a "Noise Complaint"... They had no idea that they were witness to a "Once EVER" Musical Event. The Concert was cut short and the Beatles were escorted off the roof by the "Bobbies" .
We learn from Peter Jackson's documentary that while the original complaints were about noise, the higher ups got involved because midday London traffic was stopped for miles in different directions, because people were stopping to listen.
The coppers were pretty good about it. The young cop who made the initial contact, loved the Peter Jackson film. He was covering his beat.
George and John did it in "get back" only.
They traded places on many occasions. I played just the guitar many years ago, I think it must have been broken, it sounded awful. Then you watch the Beatles in action thinking, how on earth do they sound so good. Then you look again, and they are not even playing their normal instruments. Just casually playing another one just as well.
George had left the band after his argument with Paul.. John learnt his lead lines.. George did have time to learn them, John took over the lead guitar duties.
i like it it (live)
Hi Rebeka greetings from Liverpool the home town of the fab 4 The Beatles the roof top concert was a truly spur of the moment that became an iconic Beatles performance!!!
You should check out another song they sang on the roof top"Dont Let Me Down" is such a great song and John Lennon was at his absolute best and its was an outstanding performance and is so worth watching Rebeka to listen to Lennons vocals and you will love it.
The Beatles had something special they were so Loved so talented 28 number one songs ❤
In the Jackson " Get Back " video, you watch as Paul starts creating this song. They were a tight little group!
Imagine being the guy who called the cops to make them stop.
‼️Dimash + Ave Maria
It doesn’t get much better than this. Truly joyful.😅
Hi Rebeka 🎸 ! Thsnk You for sharing this legendary & final performance of The Beatles. Wish I had been there to enjoy the experience 😊. ✌️
Epic
Great choice, Rebeka. The Beatles were a big part of my younger years in the sixties and seventies. I'm not sure where he is exactly in this video, but Alan Parsons, who produced some memorable records, including Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," is on this rooftop.
Yes, we were all young then. January 30th, 1969, I was only 10.
Fun fact: in 1984, another great group by the name of The Replacements put out an album--- titled "Let It Be."
The cover art is a picture of the four band members just sitting around--- on a roof.
Elvis, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Eagles….the gods of music! PERIOD! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The one time there really was a 5th Beatle on stage! R.I.P. Billy Preston, who has a great discography of his own!
Please more from the rooftop concert! its so good.
I love this song, this performance and the whole vibe from the band, but it's a shame that Billy Preston, the keyboardist, is barely shown in this classic film
I was thinking exactly the same thing Hmmm, the cameraman gave us a glimpse of Billy but the camera crew kept him tucked in the corner. Shameful
@@Russ-gy7txwhen Billy starts in on his first solo Paul turns to him with the biggest smile on his face
They certainly did him dirty a bit. It would not be nearly the same without his presence/performance.
@@kellahella5286
Billy was a great musician, but it would still be great without him.
So great, just beyond words! AND, as any deep Beatles fan will know, this was NOT the take that was used on the album! They ran each song a few times, and part of the absolute thrill of watching this whole concert was hearing a specific moment that let you know that THIS was the take that you've heard a thousand times, this is the actual moment that track was recorded. THE BEST!!
I've seen this video about 20 times and it's the first tme I've noticed that George was playing rythm and John was playing lead guitar
I had a similar experience.
Hello Rebeka. Thank you for sharing your reaction to Get Back by The Beatles.
There are so many Beatles songs that need to be reacted to.
I wish you to do reactions to
David Bowie
Procal Harham
The Kinks
Mop the Hoopel
Ah, great song and video!!
Great reaction to this awesome performance…heard keys being played and thought I briefly saw Billy Preston…?!
Yes you did. Billy added a lot to several Let It Be songs, and he was the only person to ever get credit on a Beatles record. The "Get Back" single read, "The Beatles with Billy Preston". Billy must have felt honored.
Last time the World saw them together.
Beatles are simply the one and only G.O.A.T.
¿Next song? "Run Like Hell" - Pink Floyd (P.U.L.S.E. Live Version)
There is more rooftop concert footage , you should listen to I’ve got a feeling by The Beatles live. They played on top of Abby Road Studios in London.
Wonderful footage. It is quite remarkable when looking at the Get Back documentary that they wrote all the material in such a short time AND actually played it. Perfect.
That concert was obviously awesome surprises for Beatles fans and everyone who like their music, unfortunately law and order didn't liked that so official authorities need to get involved for that public disorder. Few decades later U2 did their own rooftop concert in US I believe. Idea probably came from that Beatles concert.
Yes and no. Surely U2 and everyone else, who ever played in public on a roof, somewhere first thought of the Beatles, but a month before, The Jefferson Airplane had already given a rooftop concert in New York. And others have probably done it before. Sometime, somewhere.
This is one my favorite songs. I think there is a story behind that performance coming to do with the band . So nice to see you Rebecca ❤😊
Last public performance of the top selling musicians of all time.
Hello, from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦 ❤ this is my music, from my generation, 60s and 70s
Try 'Hey Jude' live ( in a tv studio ) ... Paul singing up a storm.
Would have loved to see this in person
You have great taste young lady ❤ keep rocking
Hi Rebeka, I would highly recommend watching the entire rooftop performance as it is not just the music, it is also very funny to see the streets crowds reactions as they did not know that the Beatles were actually performing live on the roof of Apple Studio, bringing traffic to a standstill.........Also funny watching businessmen climbing from their offices to watch from above, until the police finally stopped them performing........Take care gorgeous. 😘
The Beatles Are The Best 💯 Period & Great Reaction Sweetheart
January 1969 so pretty cold in London
That's an interesting Documentary to watch.
The last live performance. They played so well together, so sad they couldn't hold onto to the joy they had when they played.
I really enjoyed your reaction. There are other really good songs from this rooftop session, where the Beatles are having fun together. Try "Don't Let Me Down" and "One After 909".
Two other rooftop concert songs to add to the list are Get Back and Don’t let me down. I’m pretty sure you will enjoy them both. They are live by The Beatles.
Rebeka is gorgeous
Hi Rebeka, from Vancouver BC Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
This second Paul was damn good. (The first real Paul died in his car in 66. Great book about it called 'The Memoirs Of Billy Shears'.) Me used to pretend that he was Vivian Stanshall from the Bonzo Dog Band but after Paul died they either wanted to tell the pubic or continue the cash cow so they got Billy (Vivvian Stanshall) to play Paul and after a few facial injection he looked just like Paul. A side note - The real Paul was having premotions of his own death that he told the other Beatles but they never believed him...then it really happened, I remember watching a The Monkeys tv show back then and it was interupted with a news flash that said one of the Beatles was in a car crash ...more at eleven.....and I waited till eleven and that story never came. They quieted everything down...then this other guy Sgt.Pepper album came along and did Hey Jude and no one blinked that this was a different Paul, but he was because the original was killed in a car crash. I am not a conspiracy theorist ...I have actually used the Italian forensic couple thqat have said this one is not the original Paul. He's 2 inches taller and has a more elongated face than Paul's sweet rounded face. Anyway....
great reaction to another classic Beatles song , but looking through all your reactions i could not find Bachman Turner Overdrive " you ain't seen nothing yet" or Meatloaf " for crying out loud" both epic songs. hope you will update this soon :) please
😂You HAVE to do the rooftop video of Don't Let Me Down!! Its the Beatles at the end having one last moment
👍
The Player on the Electric Piano was Billy Preston. The unofficial Title of being "the 5th Beatle" was a toss-up between Him and Eric Clapton.
You probably know, that there are 10, 12, maybe 15 so called 5th Beatle.
Hermosa ❤
Some day when you have the time, Rebeka, you should do the entire rooftop concert -- even if you had to split it up into reaction segments, as it would take a while ........ The location was the roof of their Apple Records Studios location in downtown London, I believe
My Dear, the natural look is far better! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Rock it girl. says Jim from the 'pool
October ends's new song is mindlowing! React to it, you won't be disappointed 🔥
I now need to see you react on Nick Thurl's new song end up dead 😍
Their ages at the time of the rooftop performance John-28, Paul-27, George-26, one month shy of 27, Ringo-28. When they broke up as a band, none of them had turned 30 yet. Amazing what they accomplished at such a young age.😊
Que bueno genial gracias ✌️✌️✌️✌️
NICE SONG CHOICE TO REACT REBEKA
You reacted to the Beatles' much harder rock track "Revolution". So it shouldn't be anything new, to hear the Beatles play Rock. Was always an essential part of the discography and the basis of the Fab Four anyway.
Damn, bearded and suited McCartney is a rock God. The Beatles are playing in the cold, on a roof, and they are still f***in’ mesmerisingly electric. They are the perfect storm. History and culture will never see the likes again.
Billy Preston on keyboard
❤️🇮🇹💣
I think they wanted to go out doing a live performance and "get back" to me was an underlying statement that they missed doing live performances. Seems they were alot happier doing live performances as opposed to only studio recording. Having Billy Preston with them was great. RIP John, George, and Billy. As to recommending a song it would be The Beatles "I want you (She's so Heavy). It shows how much they advanced from "She Loves You" in a short 5-6 yrs.
Paul McCartney is an amazing human.
It lasted about 20 minutes before they shut it down, I think.
Nearly 45.
The oldest in this clip was Ringo. He was 29!
The Beatles were the most creative.
I can’t believe you haven’t reacted to Hi Ren by Ren!
Just subscribed to your channel. Surprised you haven't done Nightwish yet. Listen to Storytime live from 2013. I believe you will be a fan if you aren't already. It's a different style of music. Symphonic metal.
January, 1969, Apple rooftop, London.
See "Don't Let Me Down".
Hello, I've seen a few videos of yours but I miss one of the best live performances, it's called NIGHTWISH -GHOST LOVE SCORE (WACKEN 2013) the band plays this song live in front of over 80k people
7 years: 1963-69. They came & conquered and broke up before any of them had turned 30 yo.
Then W W W ...Elvis tribute in Memphis ....It s now or never. They were voted best group that year ...Regards Michael
"I'd like to thank you on behalf of meself and the group, and I hope we pahssed the audition." -- John Lennon.
John shows more guitar chops here in three minutes than he does in the entire decade of the 1970s.
HELLO REBEKA
Yet another No.1, although I suspect the middle-aged were less keen on it at the time. It always strikes me that it's more like a Stones song than The Beatles. Particularly in the vocals. And at least this clip doesn't feature members of the Metropolitan Police waiting to spring because of the noise nuisance.
Beatles cut their teeth as journeymen of live performances way before they were known as studio sound specialist ..
React Pearl Jam ( Black)!
Hi Rebeka,....how about Scottish groups and singers. Start with Wet Wet Wet [not the weather ]Love is all around
