    Your videos have given me a wealth of knowledge in my most recent fight against a rat infestation I had in a rental property in the Bronx, NYC and didn’t address immediately due to my own ignorance towards the amount of damage they can do. I had to take a very comprehensive approach due to a dropped ceiling in my basement that created a crawl space that they lived in and a lot of garbage from the house next door and old appliances in the same neighbor’s backyard. I came to the conclusion that they came in from an unsealed water line running from the basement to an unattached garage. I sealed the space with wire mess and concrete. Then used spray foam to seal the other openings. Used 2 Wi-Fi cameras to monitor their activity. Glue traps, snap traps, and first gen rodenticide to avoid bait aversion. After a month I only see 1 left after an estimated 20-30 rats. Thanks for posting and educating us.

      @TwinHomeExperts I suggest sharpening the kill bar and/or attaching a bit of barbed wire so the rodents are help in place, especially the ones that do not get hit directly on the head.
      Also, add some spray foam to your exterior wire mesh and embed some baking soda/corn meal onto the wet foam to get another chance to kill more pests.

      (To the guy from the Bronx) I’m just curious, which one of the devices you mentioned were the most effective in catching rats?
      I was wondering if the glue pads work for you, or if it only works with very small rats.
      & what bait works best for you?
      -
      I have one rat in my crawlspace between first and second floor. (it must be getting through some very small very opening on the outside)
      -
      But rat glue pads & snap traps are not working. (I don’t have video Wi-Fi access nor equipment, so I don’t know what’s going on)

    • @IanF-FPV
      @IanF-FPV 4 месяца назад +2

      @@MikeCee7 First thing is to find the hole they are coming through into your house. The glue traps are mostly effective with the smaller adolescent rats. I used some steel weights on the back of the smaller ones or use the extra large glue traps when possible. Find their grease marks to see where they mostly are. Use a snap trap for the larger ones. I have about 3 left still I’m trying to catch and I’m starting to suspect there is another entry point I don’t know about.😞

    Great videos! I had a rat chew up every rubber gasket in the house from my washing machine, dishwasher to fridge, running a muck and causing multiple leaks for 3 weeks. I had no success with the victor traps after trying for about a week, so I isolated each room by created a funneling effect with tall items into a sticky trap, kinda like the Spartans did in 300. Got the little sucker within the first night. Got the inspiration from one of your vids where you flushed a rat from under the fridge.

  • @hongjames
    @hongjames 4 месяца назад +1

    I had a rat living in our couch in our living room for over a week. I tried every regular trapping method like - water filled bucket trap lid and ramp - FAIL, sticky traps around the couch and along runways - FAIL.
    The only thing that worked was the knowledge I gained on this channel - eliminate exit / entry points, eliminate other food sources, and that amazing twin trap with hoodie - got the rat on night two of deploying twin traps.
    In my opinion - worth every penny.
    Thank you for what you guys do in this world. Our Christmas gift this year was getting this rat out of our house.❤

    I thought their traps were pricey too, until I actually bought and used them.
    I live in SoCal and while I still haven’t figured out how rats are getting into my [full-size] basement and attic, I decided to buy 4 Twin Traps. This was after buying dozens of Victor traps and not catching one rat after a couple of months.
    Within 2 hours of setting ONE Twin Trap…bingo! I caught my first rat! After that, I caught 5 more. I don’t know if the rats are smarter now, or they smell the blood of their deceased buddies, but I’ve not caught any since even though I see them on the cameras hanging around the trap.

      I purchased the hoodies and bait tuggers, from the twins.
      I have been trying to catch a rat for 2 months. Traps are set off every night and the bait gone.
      I set up the hoodie on 1 trap, and set up a victor regular trap ,next to each other. The next day, the regular trap was trippel, but the rat was caught in the twins hoodie trap. I am a supporter of the hoodies.
      Great job.

      Maybe clean and sterilize the traps or leave them outside to freshen up. You can try to disguise them by putting them in an upside down shoe box or card board box with an opening cut into it. Maybe use a different bait. Move furniture, plants or other things around to disguise the trap. Put it in a different area. Maybe something will help.

    Hey Jim & Dave, I like your procedure and "beyond conventional methods" with the traps , RAT-VAC and trap / bait tent addition. In the recent week I have trapped 3 medium and one large rats. They have built a cache of pecans in the corrugated metal roof above my entertainment room. They have chewed into the main attic space of the house and met their demise. I can sarcastically thank the metal roofers for not placing the rubber foam blocks that are supposed to be installed to close off the peaks of the corrugated roof panels. By watching your videos, I may have better success in stopping further issues. Thanks

When I received the hoodies and bait tuggers, I set one up with the hoodie and bait tugger, next to it i set a regular victor rat trap up. Both were set with peanut butter. The next morning, I had a rat in the trap with the hoodie and bait tugger. The regular victor rat trap, near the hoodie trap,

    After excluding all entrances and trapping all interior rodents, placing Baking soda, flour, sugar and peanut butter balls around the exterior of a property will get rid of the rest of the mice/rats because they can't burp or fart. No danger to other pets or animals, replacing burp balls regularly can keep all rodents away.

Management keeps blaming the tenants and I recently came back from being in a hotel for seven weeks, only to hear the rats in the walls again, and my neighbor getting fresh holes behind her fridge. Can ya'll come to SB and set these owners and property management straight!
