I'm interviewing for an internship at a Big 4 tomorrow and this was such a useful look into getting a feel for what it's actually like, especially for the fit portion where you need to show a good understanding of what consulting life actually means to show you'll be happy working as one. Also probably the best consulting week in my life video on RUclips! Thanks so much, keep em coming!
That’s awesome 😊 what are you more interested in learning about right now? And which one are you more likely to get a job in given your current experience? An internship at the big 4 is a great way to get to know the firm and the type of work that any practice does! As long as you get in you’ll have the opportunity to discover which line of service you want to dive into in the future ✨
Hey Den! Got a video idea for you, maybe you do could one showing what you generally wear in a week or even just a few different clothing options you have, loving the vids and cant wait to see more from you two!
I start my graduate year next month at the same company you work for. Your videos have inspired and helped me to better understand what my future career might look like so thank you so much!
Loved the video man! I actually just accepted a consulting position with the company I’ve been with in operations for a few years now; we’re a cloud computing and IT consulting firm. I know our experiences will be different, but it’s always great to have insight in someone else’s life. Def subbing!
"Thank GOD 🙏🏾", and thank you very much for sharing your support and time 😉 I am interested in big 4 consulting 🤔 Let me know what I need, and need to do...
Hey man, I got a question. Could you be doing RUclips or releasing music on Spotify while working for big 4? I thought outside businesses weren’t allowed?

Super interesting! Just curious: how many hours did you have to work during your busiest week? Also, how has the social distancing/work from home measures affected your job? (same question for Steph!)
Thank you! During Den’s busiest week, he says he worked around 75 hours during the week, but also worked the full weekend as well (Saturday and Sunday) so approx. 100 hours - that was a crazy one, thankfully not the norm! Work from home has fortunately been a smooth transition for us work wise, but we chat about general concerns and how our work set up looks in our newest video! 😊✨
@@stephandden Wow that is a real eye-opener! Are Steph's hours just as intense working in accounting/audit at a Big 4? My cousin works at a medium sized accounting firm and sometimes(often) clocks 60 hours a week. Great - I really enjoyed your newest video as well :)
I love these videos! Very insightful as I am interviewing for a Big 4 job soon! I am wondering if you could comment more on your work/life balance? I love maintaining a healthy active lifestyle and I am hopeful that this is attainable working at as a consultant as well.
Hey Hannah! Good question - we’re going to be talking about work life balance more in our video next week! At a high level, it’s definitely a busy work environment - so you’ll have to prioritize and plan your time well to attain balance. But we’ll share more if our thoughts and our experience in Monday’s video. 😊 Good luck with the interview!
Hey Den, Sohaib here from Toronto! I'm new to your channel but I'm absolutely loving the content. I'm interested in this career path but wanted to know how is the work-life balance? Do consultants have to travel far/a lot? Thank you, you've got my subscription!
Hey Sohaib! So glad you’re here and loving it! Consultants definitely do work a lot (depending on your exact team and clients), so I’d say if you want a good work-life balance you have to make time for yourself and ensure that you give yourself time for what’s important to you! Travel wise - pre-pandemic, it again depends on the client - when I (Den) do travel, it’s typically from Monday - Thursday (working from 8am-10pm, ish) then home for the weekend. ✨
Hey Anujan! We have a video on our channel called ‘How To Become A Management Consultant’ - we touch on getting a role in consulting in general, either during or after university! 😊
Hey! You can learn more about what I do in our ‘Types of Consulting’ video! Simply put I’m a finance consultant, primarily for company’s controllership functions. 😊
We don't have experience in healthcare consulting, but from what we do know you need a bachelor's degree, potentially a Master's degree (in either business or healthcare), and job experience in the healthcare field could also be an asset. 😊
Usually all weekdays going later into the evening - if it’s the weekend it’s more hours on top of all of that - either due to a deadline, or getting prepped for the next week if it’s going to be a crazy one!
Hey man loved the video and I’m considering this as a career. Did you go to college and if you did what did you major in. And do you need a degree to be a consultant?
Thanks, Gandhi! I went to university in Canada - I did a Bachelor it Commerce, specializing in Finance and Accounting 😊 Typically the minimum education for a consultant would be an undergraduate degree, but it differs depending on the type of consulting and the firm!
Awesome video,i need advice, İ want to become the CEO in corporate World ,So what is the best option to choose Audit or Advisory consulting in big 4 as a career?
Hey Fawad! Big goals, we love it 👏🏾👏🏻 It definitely depends, but likely going the financial or law route would be the best bet (CEO’s often have a financial background/designation or a JD). That’s not to say you can’t be a CEO of a smaller company/specific industries with a different career background, though (like tech, engineering, etc). 😊
Just saw this video. Just wanted some insight into consulting. I'm also in Canada. I'm currently doing accounting but was thinking about switching to finance. Do you believe that would still allow me to get into consulting with a finance major? Or would you suggest sticking with accounting. To get into consulting.
If you got a finance major (Bachelor or Master Degree), you can absolutely switch to consulting if you're working as an accountant now. I got a regular BBA and I'm working as a Junior consultant at Deloitte Switzerland.
Hi, Tahir! You could definitely get into consulting with a Finance major - Management Consulting positions in particular take candidates from a number of specializations. 😊

Hi Kristine! So glad you found us 😊 and yes you’re definitely right on being able to work in different industries! Technically they don't want you to be making money from any other sources - I just keep it on the down low.
