Let's be honest guys. From Nutcracker to Magic of Pegasus dolls' qualities were almost same level as Limited Edition Barbies. Even the outfits from Classic Barbie Movies were even beautiful and modern than recent ones.
I also love that you ranked Odette and Clara the highest. Swan Lake and Nutcracker were far my most favorite Barbie Movies.

Lol as I was watching, I was thinking
"Huh, when are rapunzel, princess and pauper and swan lake gonna come up" and ofc they were all the best. Those Barbie lines were the quality of what I dare call "collector" barbies nowadays lol. The only Barbies I really want are the 2021 Kida and Esmerelda, and that's only bc they were the only good quality barbies that came out. those movies are hard to find stuff for. Although after learning from another vid they're 16IN not 12IN idk if I even want them now.
I just love that all the newer barbies either range from extremely basic or just flat out horrible with no good clothing material or articulation, the closest we get to decent play line dolls are the made to move barbies

haha yeah, this list is pretty much in chronological order where the newer they get, the cheaper and more horrible they get
I remember growing up, my ken’s had actual hair and a lot of my Barbie’s had the rubber legs.
Now most Barbie’s are consistently and laughably cheap unless you’re willing to shell out an extra $20-30+ just to have one that isn’t a stiff board.
It's like they forgot that the main things we like to do with our dolls are change their outfits, fix their hair, and put them in different poses.

it's so sad to see the newer dolls being placed near or at the bottom. mattel really needs to upgrade their quality. after 2010's it just isn't the same anymore...

I still don’t understand why some Barbie dolls have painted on fashion. Like I know it’s cheaper to paint them but the whole point of Barbie dolls is so that you can dress them up! It’s part of the fun. And I’ve definitely seen dollar store dolls with material fashion pieces
and they have to put extra cost into production of those extra plastic form ...while they have decades of fashions they could probably reuse and get away with it
Agreed and I feel like more people would buy it if they actually had nice decent clothes it's not the doll that's bad it's okay but the clothes are awful and is very cheap
So little kid Lose the clothes you got understand these things are also made for little kids. There are some dolls that are collectors
The old ones 2001-2006 are the best there is lots of detail and they look so elegant and vintage looking.

The Swan Lake and Nutcracker dolls always amaze me with their beauty and articulation. Then I see newer Barbie ballerina dolls and think, "I know Mattel can and has done better. They're just not trying."

Original Barbies were very scarce and expensive in my country when I was a kid so I remember being so envious of two of my friends for having Odette and Anneliese, two of my favorite Barbies ever. I used to think they were so gorgeous and I'm glad to see it wasn't just my nostalgia glasses, they truly are gorgeous dolls. As they would say, they don't make them like they used to.
They pretty much never available in my country in the 2000s. I only saw the fairy doll once growing up.

I really miss the detail of the 2000s barbie related movie, I remember I had a doll from the princess of the Island and the purple musketeer one, and some fairies and mermaids and they were sooo cool, specially the musketeer.

Wow I had no idea that there were so many movies/dolls. I actually love the Barbie from Barbie diaries, her style reminds me of my scene and also the fashion fever dolls.
Oooh nice! I actually got the Swan lake barbie from a 2nd hand website. Someone was selling their whole collection of 90s and 00s barbies for 50 eur, cause they were decluttering. That was one amazing haul 😁
My favorite is the Nutcracker doll, just for her feet.

The early 2000s barbie dolls are just superior theres no way around it. I want to love the new barbie dolls but they truly are plain compared to the old ones.

You also forgot the Barbie from Chelsea and the Lost Birthday movie but to be fair it is more about Chelsea than Barbie.

For those who don't know, la Diablada is a well-known Peruvian traditional dance which represents a battle between good and evil, the dancers being dressed up as devils and angels, with usually a main devil and a main angel.
The main angel wears a white outfit (including a headpiece), has wings and carries a sword and a shield.
I had Odette as a kid and WAS OBSESSED she came everywhere with me so it filled me with so much joy to see her at number 1

Most of these dolls I had never heard of. Some were terrible, others were tacky and the one's you liked I liked as well. Especially the one with the flip up big butterfly wings!

I only had the Princess and the Pauper one as a kid and I remember loving her to death. I repurchased Anneliese and Erika when I started collecting, but resold them again (what on earth was wrong with me) and now I kind of regret it

I don't know if you watched the movie but your least favorite video game hero one she's supposed to not look like Barbie because when she goes into that video game she turns into like an anime type character. That one is actually my favorite! Lol mostly because of her light up feature and the fact she looks like an anime character. They did a good job with that.
I had the basic version of Rapunzel as a kid and I think her hair was longer. It didn't have the hair growing feature, but it all was one length. Not too much longer than that version, but I believe it was past her waist
Me and my sister owned most of the older ones when we were kids! Odette is definitely number 1 to me

Swan Lake, Rapunzel, and Pegasus barbies were my favorites as a kid! I remember having a whole Swan Lake tea party playset or something like that. Plus the Pegasus itself to go with my barbie.
the dolls from my childhood were the best and im not surprised. Getting those for xmas (Especially the princess and the pauper) literally changed the game for me as a kid. I remember treating them better than my other dolls because I thought they were better quality... and i was like five lol
It's Marapisoa that's the name of that barbie movie. She is from the the sequel doll. The movie starts with lena telling bible the story when he is nervous she even says this is a story about her friend she's the narrator like barbie.There's three Fariytop movies and Two Marpoisa movies. The last Marpiosa Movie was made in 2015. That's why the quality is not the best. I love the the Marpiosa doll you showed at 17.54.
I had the magic of Pegasus doll and the Pegasus. I adored that doll and the horse, still have them somewhere. The articulation on the Pegasus was very satisfying to a child who was obsessed with horses (all my barbies inevitably ended up owning a horse in every game, the bottom level of my dollhouse was the stables LOL) and the fact that the wings were removable made it so she could be either a Pegasus or just a regular (well. Purple.) horse. That Pegasus and the blue roan horse from I think the Cali girls line were my absolute favourite
I also had the fairytopia one! But my favourite part of the doll was the shoes LOL (also liked her eyelashes)
Flash fact those barbie movie dolls are 💯% masterpiece and unforgettable memorable!! you know that!! Get it!!!

Noooo not video game hero at the bottom! I know she doesn't lend herself to fashion play but I love her, she's unique! I love her skates and anime style. I was lowkey thinking Secret Door would be last, lol. But I'm super happy to see Swan Lake at the top, she was one of my most beloved Christmas presents ever and I wish I still had mine
This brought back some nostolgia. I think when I was in middle school, my mom made me get rid of all my barbies and all my monster high dolls except for one and some monster high clothes. I do regret getting rid of them sometimes.

I still have my Barbie Nutcracker Doll And Rapunzel Dolls♡ They are just so much better then the dolls they make now.
Oh my gosh! Nostalgia! I had Barbie from Fairytopia 1 (Elina) with her light up wings! I also had 2 pink fairies from that line too! (They had blue, purple and pink fairies but I only had pink)
I also had Rapunzel but I owned her used from the back of what I think was some retail store. She came in a bag with a few hair clips but nothing else. I absolutely LOVED her dress!
I was more of a fan of Bratz dolls growing up though and when I found out Barbie basically took Bratz off the shelves, I donated all of my Barbies to children that didn't have toys.
I never had that many barbie dolls, but I'm glad to know that one of few I had was Magic of Pegasus, it was literally my favorite of all times!
I had the Mermaidia one, I think I got her for my 11th birthday? Probably the last doll I ever got as a kid. I remember really liking how part of her outfit was painted on because I could just put a skirt on her and she already had a really pretty top, although I don't think I ever wanted to take her out of the tutu outfit. I also loooooved the scroll-y vines that went up her legs. And her tail. Everything about that doll was just a a dream.

But Anika (magic of pegasus), anika (princess and pauper), rapunzel, nutcracker sugarplum fairy, mermaid tale Merliah, rosella from island princess, and barbie from christmas Carol (2008 holiday barbie). I really want the mermaid and barbie from barbie dolphin magic and barbie from barbie diaries. I also love barbie from 3 muskateers and mermadia elena doll I want too
I totally agree with your number 1 and number 2 choices, those dolls are perfect, but I would place the mermadia doll as number 3 because she is a fairy AND a mermaid
Beauty in a Box, your collection is endless. I admire your opinions so much because theyre always drawn from your experience with the dolls. Because you really buy and love them. Mattel should hire you because youre razor sharp but such a devoted friend and supporter of dolls. Youre also the reason I stopped criticising Bratz. Not my thing but seeing them through your eyes has helped me to appreciate them and understand my opinions were faulted and unfeeling.

Happy Christmas. 😊 Out of your lineup my fave is definitely the Magic of Pegasus Barbie. Her face is so beautiful, especially her eyes. But overall my fave is Midge from Life in the Dreamhouse, 2009. I can't believe I still don't have her! I'm an absolute sucker for the Steffie fave mold.

I have a bias so I absolutely love the Fashion Fairytale doll!!! It was a childhood favorite and when I bought her again New in Box almost 2 years ago and I love her so much!!! Even if she's not the best quality...The princess and the pauper dolls are my other Faves ❤

"A Princess and a Popstar" Barbie doll has clothes that closer look like Pyropes except no blue and no skirts, and no dress just the backskirt and medium colored pink top part looks more accurate from the other Barbie to this character from Steven Universe's "Save The Light" game series I mentioned in one of my comments earlier😜🤣

This is One of My favorite vids because these Dolls so rare and where the last line of barbies to be very very good and really stunning..My top 5 change all the time. At the moment its 1-Annalisa 2- Odette 3- Clara from Nutcracker 5- Rapunzel 4- Annika from magic of Pegasus. The Mermaid that tirns into a fairy has the prettiest face mould..I remember there was a pink or lilac version of Odette.. i think like a fairy goddess character..have to look it up.
My favorite Barbie movie dolls are Erika&Anneliese 10000% but Odette, Clara, Rosella, Annika, Rapunzel, Elina, Genevieve, Delia&Alexa are also awesome! I still have mine from back in the day

I had Barbie as Rapunzel and Annalise as a kid. We ended up having to trash a lot of our toys because of a rat infestation. I wish I still had these Barbie’s though, the quality back then was unmatched. 👌🏽

I didn’t grow up with Barbie movies, I’m afraid I stopped after the Nutcracker. I did enjoy the 2 parts animation they made in the 80s (“Out of this world “/“Rockin back to earth “) so I would say those 2 are my favorites even though I don’t collect many 80s dolls.
i promise you that the skirt pulling on the fashion fairytale doll worked for so long but they just stop working after a while, i had one and it worked for a couple years. also lost my wings it was a devastating loss.
I don't mind the plainer outfitted dolls. Both ordinary and fantasy are part of the magic.
I think that Mattel is very good at making creative dolls with transformation elements. The Fairy Secret doll had that ugly seperation but it had its function and the idea was cool. My favorite was always the Mermadia Elina doll that transforms between fairy and mermaid. That was actually a brilliant design and it was my favorite doll as a child. I would love to get my hands on another one. And honestly, even the worst of the worst still looks nice.
omg I remember haaaaaating the texture of the wings on the fairytopia doll, it felt scratchy and ouchie
