That model of DJI drone is their professional level. They cost thousands. I have several DJI consumer drones. They're some of the best you can get.

Yes I am aware what it cost new but after a major crash its worthless. No parts. Support ended in 2018

this looks like a high quality(pricey) drone. well built thats for sure! surprised someone didnt save it for parts. I think in the USA, or at least where i live, drones are rated by weight and size. So the larger ones like this one would need a license to fly them and they are restricted in certain areas. My local police dept uses them a lot to do surveillance or spy on people. Nice to see the guts, thanks Dave

2:28 I'd have preferred to see it restored rather than 'torn apart'. I own two DJI drones atm (original Mavic and Mavic Pro 3) they are complicated (and I always get nervous flying them, even though that's what they're built for); but to be honest there are loads of tear-downs on RUclips which is why it's always refreshing to see a restore.

I had no desire to spend money to restore something I didn't want, don't need and don't have the rest of it. If I had the batteries, controller, props ect then perhaps ir would have been worth it to try to restore. As it sits its available as a parts donor but if no takers then off it goes.

0:40 A DJI Inspire 1. If the parts are now unavailable from DJI then that drone could be worth quite a lot as 'spares' on ebay.

I loved @ 33:40 when you ripped that piece of crap apart. Excellent work sir.

    Thanks Dave.
I have yet to find the Driver Tool to remove the tiny fastener on LNB guts it looks like a cross between an External Hex and Torx. about 1 to 1.5mm. LOL Modified Small needle nose 'Vise Grip" got them out .
On Any free time I had at work I'd take stuff like the Drone apart for recycling. Plastics in the Trash. Any metal in one box. Brass/Copper in another, etc. all those tiny screws added up to a few pounds when all was taken to recycling when the shop closed.

Great video! I would love to see more CRT TV videos. I have a Sony PVM that gets no raster even though I get HV. No degauss either for some reason

Nobody fixes crt monitors. I say good riddance myself. I remember the anal a holes that would get their protractor out and measure the distance between the lines on the test screen and then bring it back because one side was off by a 16th of an inch. The problem with CRT is that they're influenced by the Earth's magnetic field so you can make it look absolutely perfect in the shop and the customer comes in and signs off on it that everything's perfect and then takes it home and because it's facing a different direction, in a different location that convergences off slightly or the geometry is offslightly then they're winning and complaining and they bring it back and it's perfect in the shop then they expect you to go to the house and spend And spend hours trying to get it perfect to their critical eye. I got a more shit from my boss for spending too much time at a customer's house trying to satisfy them to something that was well within spec but not good enough for them. Was happy to see them go away.

The brushless motors could be usefull to someone who flies model planes.

If I could fire it up it would make a mighty powerful fan.

It's very common (haha, pun INTENDED) to common the +ve lead on LEDs or other things, and have separate ground leads when you use low side n-fets driven from a microcontroller to switch external loads.

I heard on a different video.Someone commenting on the grand canyon area that the drones are not allowed for a specific reason. That specific reason is that apparently there is ancient structures in the area that were created and perhaps even currently occupied by beings other than regular people. I won't comment on it anymore. So as to not draw unwanted attention. But you could perhaps search those facts out yourself if you are curious.

Drone flying is not allowed in federal parks in Canada. Provincial OK.

Funny thinking about those 3,5" floppy disks of 1,4MB. now they can put over 100GB on such small portable media like micro SD

Eh Dave, what's the likelihood of a viewer screaming " Hey, don't trash it. I want it to use it for PARTS since I crashed mine while I was flying "peeping Tom maneuvers" while puffing my contraband. " I noticed that the SD card log had files posted at 4 AM. Who would normally be flying at that time of night ? Thanks for letting us see how much tech stuff was in that WOUNDED BIRD.
