Thank you for posting the video on doing stucco repair. I used Rapid Set to patch a corner area of my home that had a chunk (about the size of a deck of cards) broken off from a lawn mower hit by our gardeners. Your video provided a thorough explanation of how to do simple repairs that helped a lot. Finally, for those negative critics of the video, please post your own stucco repair video with a link to it in your message and show everyone how stucco repairs are to be properly done.
To the Point!!! 💯% By adding possible mistakes & corrections then Reapplying the Stucco THANK YOU SO MUCH! Beginners like me with NO Clue what so ever have so many questions that you in this Video have answered. GRACIAS!!!
In my Google search that brought me here, I was hoping to find a kit that would include the steel screen that he's calling substrate. A repair kit for the scenario where a plumber cut through the wall for example, not a stucco-only hole where the stucco somehow just fell off in one spot for some reason, but the substrate is still there ready to cover
Great video. I did find this product at Home Depot (in so cal) in the building materials area where un-mixed concrete and un-mixed stucco are. It was not in the paint department with the spackle and pre-mixed stucco quarts.
Thanks so much for this fantastic demonstration, I have a couple of small areas to repair in the back yard. I'm headed straight to the store to buy the materials you showed in this video!
This guy is awesome I met him at a pro show at Kelly Moore he is very knowledgeable, nice, and very thorough in explaining the technique of patching stucco
This video is truly a blessing... I just install an exterior receptacle and I have to pat a very tiny piece and match it with the wall. This video was very educational, informative and helpful . God Bless and Thank You. †
A chunk of my wall came off from a basketball backboard hitting it on a windy day. Took the the backboard down and used this Rapid set Stucco Patch and it worked awesome. You can't even tell anything was taken off. Great demo here on finishes by the way. Thank YOU!!!

Thanks mate. Really condensed and educational. VERY appreciated!!! I have heard of a "Dash" (like a dash of salt) finish where your brush or similar is used to simply sling it onto the wall... do you know what type of brush that would be? cheers, brian
Hi Brian, glad this video was helpful. In regards to the dash coat, we recommend using a hard bristle brush (i.e. a scrub brush with hard bristles). If you'd like to email us at info@ctscement.com with Dash Coat in the subject line, we can email you a picture of what that brush looks like. Have a wonderful weekend.
great video, thank you. I want to fix some stucco cracks on the wall. Is it possible to add stucco color (dry/liquid) into the RapidSet stucco patch to match the current wall color? It doesn't have to be exactly matching the existing color through.
+Frank Fu thank you and apologies for the delayed response. Just seeing your question. Yes, ether one can be used - The Liquid Quick Create brand or the La Habra Dry brand. For the dry brand make sure you add it to the water before you mix.
Hi Josue, not sure what you are asking. Please email us at info@ctscement.com with your contact information and one of our representatives will contact you. Thank you.
Thank you! Just have a small place that needs repair due to a tree being removed that was close to the house. We have that lumpy finish to our stucco...I think you said Spanish Lace. Looks easy enough!
You're welcome, Julie. It is pretty easy, and if you have any questions about using our Stucco Patch, please let us know at 800-929-3030 or you can email me at jong@ctscement.com (Janet).
Good video though before I start applying the stuco to hair line cracks or filling in areas should the paint be taken off in other words you dont want to stuco over areas that have paint on it?
Hello, a fog coat can be accomplished 2 hours after Stucco Patch is applied. The only thing is our product is not as porous as regular portland stucco. So make sure to not spray onto Stucco Patch before the 8 hour mark. Also, the fog coat doesn't stick to painted surfaces so make sure that it's all new stucco. If you have further questions, please call us at 800-929-3030.
I have smooth stucco on my outside deck with a portion that has been restructured and scratchcoated but not finished and with no color coat. Could I use this as a smooth finish repair for that and just apply acrylic paint over the top?
Hi Jonathan. Rapid Set Stucco Patch or Stucco Mix can be used as a smooth coat stucco finish over your scratch coat. Both of these products are exceptional for stucco repair. Stucco Patch has a thicker 16-20 grit sand texture that allows you to complete any stucco finish if needed. Stucco Patch can be painted after 2 hours, and Stucco Mix can be painted after 16 hours. If you have further questions, let us know.
I just purchased this product today 'hoping' it would play nice with my inexperience. Cleaning up edges around new vinyl windows. Should do OK now that I've seen this example of what to do. THANKS!

lol hate to pay someone for a job???.you dont get paid at work??and your front door entrance that everyone sees.wouldnt you want a clean proffesional finish??
I used this to patch where an old exterior coal feed was. The homeowner liked the heavy texture I got with a sponge and wants the cracked sides of the steps parged/floated with it. Any thoughts on what could go wrong? Better to go over the old cement (after a light pass with the Festool diamond grinder) or use bonding agent?
Would this be useful to fix a bad crack fill job already done and painted? I can still see the cracks but wider and shinny because they filled in the surrounding texture. Then pain again or would it build up higher than the original surface?
Hello Penny. Stucco Patch can be used over painted surfaces. We recommend opening up this crack with a grinder prior to patching with Stucco Patch so that you get a nice level repair. If you have further questions, let us know.
I used the product on several cracks and found the material to be very strong and easy to work with. The only issue I have is that the way you illustrate a crack repair actually sometimes leaves a small indentation where the crack is - then you need to put a little more on top to level that out - then, that causes a small bulge in the area of the crack and on a wall that is in line with the setting sun, those bulges are unsightly. Any suggestions? I assume you would need to blend that bulge way out which I don't think this material is really the best for that. Any thoughts?
Try running a paint scrapper blade along the edges of the crack. It creates a bit of a bevel that helps feather the patch into the wall. Don't be afraid to feather out a few inches on each side if you can match the texture. Also, you'll get a depression if you don't fully fill the crack. It can take a few passes of really pressing the stucco into the crack to fully fill it.
Could this be used for a large crack from a slider door header dropping and pulling window? Crack is about 4-5 ft long about average 2 inch wide. Not a hairline crack
Yes, Rapid Set Stucco Patch can be used for large applications and deep fill. Here are some helpful tips when working with Stucco Patch. 1. Properly prepare the area that you intend to patch and remove any loose pieces. 2. Have all of your tools and supplies organized, prior to mixing . 3. Keep in mind this is a fast-setting material, so mix only what you can use in a 15 to 20 minute working window. 4. Apply material to full depth in one application, and do not layer. Please let us know if you have other questions.

Hello, you will need to wire brush the corner bead to remove any rust and loose debris. Then apply a coat of Rapid Set Stucco Patch over the corner bead with at least an 1/8 inch of coverage on the nose of the corner bead.
Hi Brian. You can paint our Stucco Patch material after 90 minutes of cure time at 70 degrees. It will not flash. If you have further questions, let us know. Thank you!

Hello Vicki, this product can be applied over a concrete wall that has lines from leeching. This material can be painted within just 90 minutes due to our curing technology, and will not shrink or crack. Thank you for choosing our Rapid Set Stucco Patch for your stucco needs.
Rapid Set Stucco Patch will work for this application. Use 4 parts material to 1 part water, and mix to a peanut butter consistency. Adjust as needed. If you have further questions, let us know.
Hi Mike. Yes, you can spray it through a hopper and it will perform well. Here are a few tips.
1. This is a fast-setting material, so don’t let it sit in the hopper for long. 2. Make sure you spray without stopping to ensure you don’t clog the hopper. 3. Clean out the hopper well immediately after. Please let us know if you have further questions. Thanks for choosing Rapid Set!
Anyone can slap some material on a wall call it a repair if that's what you are looking for. The end results is what is important to me. The repairs he's doing is on a painted panel , every thing he is doing cant be done on a regular unpainted wall . The moister will be sucked out of the material before you will have time to use any of the floats. He doesn't tell you that in the video. All the repairs could have done with the green float only and not having to use his dumb way of back hand rubbing. I could go on and on . This video is for the people with painted homes or building that don't really care end result's are as long as its it is patched cause were painting it anyway. I grew up in the plastering trade from 12 years old to now at 53 years old. I could not do what he is doing to other people homes and expect them to be happy nor get paid. But then again its nice to also get paid from people that just messed up their home with some thing they got from a big box store thinking its EZ , I seen it done in a video...
Mr50pop I don't want to argue whether this guy knows anything, but my friend and I used this product on his house where he hit it with his car by accident and you can't see where the damage is anymore and we're just a bunch of DYI'ers. The guy did a sufficient job. Also it is a good product. Homeowners: google the term surface dry damp. That is what you want when working with most any product but especially a fast setter
Hi Jaime, thanks for asking. When he is holding the trowel with the Stucco Patch over his head, that is his way of conveying how Stucco Patch will stick to the ceiling without falling off.
Polymer is an additive that helps with adhesive and increases the bond strength. Since Stucco Patch is formulated with cement, polymer and sand, you only need to mix with water.
Thanks for asking. Please email your contact info (phone number or email address) to jong@ctscement.com and we will connect you with a representative in your area to help with your situation.
Hi Ruben, Rapid Set Stucco Patch is a rapid-setting repair material, that will deliver strength within 1 hour after placement. If you would like to accelerate the material and make it even faster, you can use warm water. This will accelerate the setting time, and cause the material to harden and dry much faster. Using a Heat Gun can cause premature hydration which could lead to surface cracking. You would have better consistent results by using warm water. Let us know if you have further questions.
lol if your going to promote a product, atleast finish the whole job blend it in then paint to see how it really turns out.why would u just fill up the hole then lightly sponge and not blend in properly???
Great explanation and presentation of different textures and the dialogue was also superb. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us

797lou apologies for just now seeing your question. Stucco Patch is available at The Home Depot and at paint stores.
could you dry it with a heat gun who?
Hi Ruben, Rapid Set Stucco Patch is a rapid-setting repair material, that will deliver strength within 1 hour after placement. If you would like to accelerate the material and make it even faster, you can use warm water. This will accelerate the setting time, and cause the material to harden and dry much faster. Using a Heat Gun can cause premature hydration which could lead to surface cracking. You would have better consistent results by using warm water. Let us know if you have further questions.
Thank you, big help….
