@@ImightyAbhi Well, no. It's not rock. I would bet 99 out of 100 people who like both pop and rock would identify this song as pure pop. Which is not a knock. I totally love this song (and rock, as well).

@Edward1312 Never said it was wrong or that it matters :) It works for him, it works for the song and you can't even tell on the record. The point still stands though that its the most unorthodox style I've ever seen!
When people love these mental riffs and crazy drum fills i get it honestly and i respect it. But the best song i’ve ever heard in my entire life since the moment i first heard it to now is this. It’s simple and melodic like all perfect beautiful songs are. This just happens to be the best one in my opinion ❤
Love this video and their rendition ! Just a bunch of ordinary lads having a great time in a traditional docklands. So honest and pure. Nothing needs to be improved - perfect as it is.
Daniel Smith got it cut In that style which everyone had at the time and had since just say same shape as it is but a bit off Just take a pic of maver to the barbers and tell them you want that
@@yeahyeahyeah-7674 yeah I read the article from that guy who was on holiday with Mavers. Unfortunately with Mavers he has a lot of plans but it just never happens. In the book "in Search of The La's" Lee had a cupboard full of boxes of tapes. It's maddening.
@@yeahyeahyeah-7674 not sure. I mean the stuff he played for the author of "In Search Of The La's" was stuff that he had recorded all himself i.e. he played all the instruments, recorded it at his own studio in exactly the way he wanted including using an old 60's desk.... But he doesn't seem to trust the music industry or the internet or people. I think Mavers has some form of Asperger's/OCD - I think this could explain why he can never complete anything, and also some of his quirks e.g. not wanting to use a cable because it's yellow etc. (see Paul Hemmings account of working with Lee in the "the whole myth of The La's is crazy" article).
Well spotted. They must have edited together two different performances of the song with Lee using a different guitar for each one? Looks a bit out of sync at 0.50 also I reckon.
@@SeadartVSG It's definitely two performances spliced together, you can hear the electric guitar playing in the breakdown, but in the background see he's not playing what you hear. 1:23 Most of what we see is them miming to playback, but you do see the original drum take at 0:16 (plus some other shots) where he is actually hitting the drums with power rather than the rest of the video where he is lightly tapping them so as not to drown out the playback. Also the acoustic riff at the very beginning continues under the electric guitar when it joins in but you don't see Lee playing it in the wide shot - instead he's strumming. 0:04. You also see Lee mouth the wrong words at 0:49. All in all quite odd but maybe the best sound take didn't match the best visual take.
@cockyhemi Google can be your friend! But for now, allow me: "There She Goes" has gained a reputation for being about the use of heroin, possibly as a result of the lines: "There she goes again... racing through my brain... pulsing through my vein... no one else can heal my pain". @@LisaDawnn Lisa....yikes.... To quote your lovely self, "Allow me" to disabuse yourself of thinking that unsubstantiated guesses by journalists is anything resembling 'proof'. Silly girl.
I think Granada used shots from another take to jazz up the video, so the parts you hear don't tally up with what you see at every point! It was broadcast like that as far as I know
Th La's never used Rickenbackers or 12 strings. Apart from one time. They went to America to do some TV appearances, only Lee and John went to save money, and they used US backing musicians, I belie they went on David Letterman, the studio band backed them and the guitarist used a Rick 12 string.
This is a great song but I don’t believe this is a real live performance, At 1:23 the lead electric guitar, you can hear its still picking out notes but the lead guitarist playing the electric guitar is just doing slow strumming. He couldn’t act like he was at least playing the real notes? Lol 😂
@@lennon1482 But the electric guitar picking part at 1:23 his not doing. He’s strumming. Nothing to do with editing because the singer is singing right along with the song there and it’s the same shot. Not saying they’re playing live but that guitar part was added later. Not live.Which is weird because it’s not that hard to play
