Me again. I don’t blame you or anyone else for being so, so careful out there these days. Gone are the days of innocence on the internet, as if they ever did exist. I am not a quilter but I never miss one of your Quilt Roadie postings because I never know when I am going to learn something new. I am however a wool appliqué-er, an embroiderer, a cross stitcher, a slow movement embracer, jewelry maker, bead worker, sewist, and fabric pumpkin maker, all self taught and often combining techniques. Learning how to make books is also on my list...I already have all the supplies...hopefully this winter...:-/ chuckle. Enjoy your trip and Woolstock, Anna.
Anna, such a fun day with you in the Bee Hive! Super cute pin cushion ideas...love the fabric for the backing. Have a blast at Woolstock! Wish we could get some rain in CA...love rainy days ❤️
I just started watching you today and I love your videos because I feel like I'm having a conversation with a crafty friend. You and I have pretty much the same ideas. I found you because I was looking for different ideas for pincushions. Keep the good videos going.
All our leaves are so dry that they have been dropping since August! It is still in the high 90’s here in Alabama! We will probably go from too hot to freezing! The pincushions are adorable. Have a great time camping!
Ohhh I’m in trouble I just saw Shabby Fabrics new wool quilt block of the month....ohhhh ssseeewww cute.....it’s a sewing themed quilt.....going to ask this to be my Christmas gift from kids rather then a appliance ...hmm but a new Bernina would be fine too.🤣
Hey Anna, I sure could use some of that rain down here! We live in Utica, Indiana and we’re in a drought, it started out with a wet spring but somewhere along the way the rain decided to Go it’s own way lol, we haven’t had any rain in I think 20 days. I loved how the beaver looked like it was going to start chewing on that tree on your pin cushion, it was so cute, and the bee one is super cute too! Love your videos!
Lol yeah I’d have the same problem. I see all kinds of quilts I want to do and I have so many projects going at the same time I don’t think I’ll ever get them do! Lol
LOL .....I got that same robot call, except they called my neighbor, who came running to my house terrified! it took me a while to explain how it was a fake call!
You wonder why people have Instagram and don’t post, this is my reason: When I was on Instagram I was private and did not post anything therefore I declined all requests because there was nothing to see. The reason I was on Instagram was to follow the hobbies I was interested in such as knitting, sewing, quilting. Also, I would follow people whose podcasts I watched. I didn’t care to take photos and post, however if I was a podcaster or owned a business I would have had a purpose/reason to do so. I’ve never been interested in FB or Twitter, never had an account with either. I got off Instagram when people stopped talking about their love of making and used their platform to promote their political ideology. I can follow political sites if I want that, it’s not what I’m looking for when following makers. I like your podcast and you make interesting things and you talk about how you make them. I find it relaxing and inspiring. I’m going to try some wool projects because of watching your podcasts.
JoJo i agree I have FB but have weaned off it 99% and Instragram I love for the pictures but have been seeing (not watching) way too many video's on that platform. I can't stay online for that many hours, i have a life:)
This is beside the point, but I just got stung by a red wasp for no apparent reason! I know they’re grouchy this time of year. But I’m thinking I want a shirt that says “Bees are jerks!” 😂Honeybees are the exception 🐝
now now...I googled it and Bees are totally different than Wasps...so from now on say Wasps are jerks, lol...I know I would have anyone watching me make stuff if I was quilting in The Wasp Hive...ROFLOL
I am trying to assemble a cute wool quilt kit with owls on a tree and falling leaves. I am not having a good day with it because I am having some neurological problems and working with tiny little buttons for eyes and little beaks and feet are difficult for me to hold with my fingers. I keep on doing it because it is so fun.
I just finished 2 embroidery pieces for fall that I am going to use to cover throw pillows in the 5th wheel. I get new glasses in 1 - 2 weeks so I am waiting for them to get more practice at the cross stitching. Got a get that camper decorated for fall. We do Halloween at one camp ground, I have a spooky noise CD I play on the outdoor speakers and we decorate outside some and pass out candy to the kids.
Thanks Annie Weather in UK very good today and I am working on finishing projects for our club show. When you have a new video I cannot wait to watch it as I know you will lift my spirits and give me a laugh I have a friend who is very ill at the moment so I needed a pick me up which you always supply.Say a silent prayer for him .Thanks Sylvia
This video came up on my suggested video list today (March 23, 2020) so I thought I would watch it. I laughed and laughed (like it said on you T-shirt). The Bowl Me Over book just arrived this morning. I plan to make a few pillows from the book. Yours look so cute. Thanks, Anna.
Waiting for the rain to come by our way. Gonna sew for hours! With a cup of tea by my side. I'm ready! You've inspired me as usual. Bee blessed dear friend of ours.
Anna. I went to a small quilt show on Friday and found 3 x 6" packets of wool - one pinks, one greens and one lilac/purple shades. Most are checked tweeds so will have to adapt a free 'Penny Rug' pattern or make floral applique pieces? I'm so looking forward to having a go and putting to the test my Karen Kay Buckley serrated scissors I bought for applique a few years ago and only used with cotton fabrics so far. The book looks delightful. Enjoy.
Oh my goodness. Here in western Washington, it’s the brown garden spiders that are everywhere this time of year. I’m sorry that you got stung and I hope that you’re on the mend.
I bought the book and love it! Thank you for introducing it! Don't you just love pin cushions!!! Thank you for another wonderful bee hive episode! Hugs!!!
Anna, I live in Memphis and we have not had rain for a while. Further South in Texas, no rain. I would stand in my gown in the front yard if it would only have a nice soaking rain.
Well I’m probably one of the ones who wanted to friend you on Instagram. I am definitely a quilter. But probably more of a lurker than a poster. I have been following you since midsummer when a quilting friend recommended you. I’ve learned lots from you. Now I am a SF 101 believer.im a labor and delivery nurse full time for the last 38 years so I don’t stitch as much as I want to but retirement is nearer. Thanks for all your inspiration
Oh My Gosh Anna, I have my ground walnut shells, new supplies of pins and needles.. I took a screenshot of the book so I can order it. This video came at the perfect time. Thank you for sharing. Take care and God Bless, have fun camping. Chris-Raleigh NC PS: Yes, watch out for the scammers, they announced those calls on the news here..
The video isn’t even finished, but I had to tell you that my son in-law survived that rain storm on his way north from Vancouver. Hope you were able to stop in at the Pioneer Quilt Shop to see that bee quilt. I am going to order the Bowl book based on your recommendation.
This is a little off topic but I was wondering about taking my sewing machine in a RV. I have a computerized embroidery viking and am worried about the bouncing around while driving. Are there special precautions I need to take that would protect it or is it just a really bad idea.
ohhhh....aren't they pretty heavy? I would definitely cushion it on all sides and hopefully it is in a hard case. A lot of RV'ers travel with sewing machines so it is a can do option...just not sure about an embroidery machine. I only take a small machine :)
Aren't those pillowcase/sheet packages wonderful!! My neighbor is always buying sheets so I benefit from that. Yay..enjoyed this whole video. Working on Xmas embroidery although not by hand for gifts & sales✨✨✨👍
Had to laugh about the robo calls, we live in Vancouver BC Canada and we have been getting them for a good 2-3 months. Who falls for that these days? But I guess someone does or they would stop. Always enjoy seeing the projects you work on. Hope the rain stops for you soon, I have grown up in the Pacific Northwest and funnily find the first rains rather relaxing. Although I have in the past felt like the Ark should be rebuilt if the rain doesn’t let up until April 😂

I've got a bunch of Pat Sloan projects I'm working on...a couple Halloween lap quilts...a table topper.....lol and I've got an order sitting in my cart for buttermilk basin lol. Too many projects and Oct. 1 I need to start Christmas stuff
Love the pin cushions. Especially the 🐝 one. I always try to order from Amazonsmile because a portion of my purchase goes to a charity of my choice. The book is in my cart. Currently working on Christmas cards (not paper since they get thrown out). I am making small banners on my embroidery machine. Did it last year too & everyone loved them. The thought is hopefully these will be a keepsake that can be hung every Christmas. Happy 🏕️. 😸 PS meant to ask what is the difference between SF101 & what you called soft fuse?
A yard of fabric to make a pin cushion 😂🤣..its beautiful fabric though Anna. We didn’t have a cold winter here in NZ but boy has it rained...and rained. We are at the start of our spring now and it’s still raining. I’ve started my Xmas sewing...3 red velvet Xmas stockings with machine embroidered names, a fur cuff, with plenty of blinged up decorations. Not sure when you recorded this video but we had rain last Thursday thru Sunday yesterday was lovely and the rain returned overnight. Last night a sudden gust of wind came along and I thought the building was being lifted up! I almost ordered that book about t weeks ago and then when you mentioned it I regretted not getting it. Well it and a few more things are coming my way. That fabric is wonderful. I’d love to see the moose framed coming out from behind a tree. But I guess it would have to be a bigger piece. I love lavender but I’m allergic to lavender oil, I loose my voice for several hours, I appreciate that you think before you stuff your pincushions. I need to get some more of those crushed walnut shells again. Hope things are dry for the camping trip.
Anna you test my knowledge, but I don’t think we have had any in the lower mainland where I live. But in the interior there have been a few but not as many as other parts of Canada. I think it was just a big wind gust that came up the river from the west straight towards my condo. It happens every now and again you can actually hear the wind roaring up the river.
Oh my gosh Anna I have so much to tell you! I have that pattern for the little card holders that you showed on the video today. I’ve had that pattern for probably five or six years and I can’t tell you how many of those little purses that I’ve made. I love fussy cutting them and personalizing them for whoever I’m giving them to. I will post a picture on Instagram tomorrow, so maybe you can look for it. I think I purchased that pattern in New York City! Also wanted to tell you that I loved your T-shirt in today’s video! And I completely understand about those friend requests that you were talking about. I have several of those as well and if there’s no pictures or info, then I just ignore them. As usual, I enjoyed your video tonight! Have a fun weekend camping.

Have a fun weekend camping.
yeah know...I have that pattern also and have never made one....guess I better get off my duff and start!
Too much chatter
