Listening to all three Murmaiders in a row, you can really hear how Brendon's musical ability has evolved over time.
I think my favorite is still II, but goddamn they are all awesome!

I don't think they've ever been a parody, really. They're real dudes. Seen them play live probably 15 yrs ago.
The vocals on this album are the worst of the discography, though. Kinda sounds like they were ruined in mixing/mastering.

I'm so fucking glad that Brendan put a guitar duet in here instead of a solo. Shows that Skwisgar is finally letting Toki have his moments.

Idk, I listened to the whole album and I can't single out anything remarkable. Yes, it's still in their style, but there's not enough zest. Maybe it's not melodic enough or something. Feeling empty rn

@@YuraOlsen It is way more brutal than anything previously, easily the heaviest dethalbum. But this does come at the sacrifice of guitar driven melodies of previous albums. Much more like a Cannibal Corpse rather than a Death inspired album.
It took me a few more listens to start appreciating it more. Not as strong as dethalbums 2 and 3 but still really really good.

i thought id overhyped myself for this album yet it somehow is 2x better than i expected, brendon is a genius and i pray this gets the recognition it deserves

This album was a real emotional ride for me. I'm gonna be a Dethklok fan forever. My dad and I bonded over this wacky and talented band. Brendon, Gene, and anyone else who worked on this did an incredible job. I hope we do get more Dethklok in the future, but if this is the last album, it was one hell of an album to bow out on, and I'm glad this happened at all. That was beautiful.
The Deththeme has been my ringtone since season 1 premiered. Never will be different. Always know when my phone is ringing hehe

Today is a huge day for me, and i'm sure for the rest of us.... I can't believe this album is finally out
I broke a blood vessel in my eye screaming and literally crying watching the climax of Army of the Doomstar. This movie/ album has given me clarity on my life. I lost my father last week and I was falling into greiving despair and watching the movie today pulled me back into reality. I can do ANYTHING because of DETHKLOK

Lighting started to strike as I was listening to this 😮
I stopped keeping an ear out a few years ago, and just today I've found that last year not only a new album, but a new film that ties the story all together and complete it.
It has been genuinely an honour to watch this artistic project go from what felt like an S-post, to be tied together, elaborated and evolved into a genuine masterpiece in two mediums.
Got-dayum.....
Now to go back and listen to each album back to back, again and again, forever.
I've been waiting for Dethalbum IV for a long time, and when I saw that there was a new, and the last Murmaider, a single tear fell from my right eye.
The Ocean Galaktik can now rest with the title Murmaider 2 1/2
This may just be my opinion, but I think Rejoin is the next Murmaider after 2, and then Ocean Galaktik. So really this is Murmaider V, by my reckoning. I think maybe Go into the Water might fit in there somewhere too, so maybe Rejoin is Go into the Water 2?

Murmaider songs were about Mr. Salacia story? His name does come from the mermaid married to Neptune, and their son Triton was also called half man. In murmaider 2 he become a god, and in 3rd he was hunted, and defeated. Mr Salacia could just run away from the sea to (planet) Earth, but they still killed him in the end. I think it fits.
PS. Also Triton song from galacticon, which pretty much repeats point of Salacia being from another planet.
