Add coolant when drained...run it...let it cool completely...add more coolant...let it run and cool down...add more coolant until full on the header or overfill tank.
@petergeorge8513 part of the investigation and remedy into over hot engine. It might have been fine, but since I removed it to check, I might as well changed it.
Ok im not getting no hot air coming out the vents. Car sits at the correct temperature. Coolant level fine. Do you find you get problems with your heating with the mk8 2.2?
@petergeorge8513 test the radiator when running for a while. If it is hot then your heat exchanger is blocked inside your car. No easy fix apart from changing the exchanger. This also means you have been using tap water for coolant. Watch my vid on de ionised water. If it is cold then change the thermostat as in the video.
Jayyysus so many times trying to pick and drop it with these chopsticks. Looks like you're stirring a pot of soup there 🤣 nevermind I'm concerned about the same thing atm, not too warm in a car for a long time, and giving poor mileage, like 300 miles on full tank 😱 maybe this culprit is part of a reason I guess 👍
I removed the EGR valve for better access and cleaned it at the same time.
8:37 Brilliant hahahaha
Hi, how did you purge the system? Thanks
@Hondaspeedcdti the drain pipe is the lowest point...once the thermostat is pulled out, the engine blocks coolant is also released.
@EducationPineapple thanks for the answer. And to fill the coolant system, how would you do it?

Why did you change it. What was the problem you was having?

seal it's not the reason why thermostat slow down reaction on high temperature , you need arrange another book :) Mr mechanic
My car has been running with better fuel efficiency since I changed it. I think it was faulty.
