  • I have seen this issue all over FB groups and Forums with the same result. People take their truck into the dealer they replace the intermediate shafts..... AND THE NOISE IS STILL THERE! In this video I show you how to TEMPORARLY fix it (this is not a recommended permanent fix). It is a little janky BUT it does solve the problem. Please listen to the outtro as well.
The best fix is to show what I have pointed out in this video to your dealer so they can order the correct part.

You need one of those “real men of genius” Bud Light commercials😂🤣. Seriously though, thanks for this. I’ve had the shaft replaced twice and it came back. Now get back in the garage and figure out how to stop these squealing brakes!!!!

The sound in mine is a ticking that almost sounds like it is in the door but it’s definitely coming from the steering thanks for the tip. Let us know what the dealership does about it.

Wonder if a hose clamp cranked on may give same result?
Honestly, this is all you should expect from a newer Chevrolet at this point . Anybody remember the 14-18 1/2 tons with the gas pedal that was so flimsy it would cause huge issues and everybody was shoving paint sticks behind them to take flex out?

I know there are a lot of people that did not fix and and own HD GM rigs back in 2002, but this is not a new problem, nor a safety issue but very annoying.
2001 to 2007 classic trucks had a very similar issue, my guess is once people actually go back to work, an updated repair will be available and covered.
I always had good luck installing a grease fitting in my older trucks steering shaft to tighten the slip joint, though this new issue does look like a clearance issue.
My 2021 Denali 3500 started this weekend, 2000k miles.....sure does sound like the slip joint, I will pull apart soon

Did not have this issue on my 2002 LB7 , 2007 classic LBZ or my 2013 LML. So this is new for me

Good morning. I bought a 2022 Gmc Sierra 2500hd yesterday. I don't have the click in the steering wheel (yet) but i have a considerable amount of play in the wheel. Have you run into this yet? Not sure if the intermediate shaft or the steering gear is the culprit. Regardless, I'll be bringing it back to the stealer for a look see. Thanks for any help you can provide me.

After a saw your video I took it to the dealership by the blew me off because I installed a 6 inch lift on my truck , saying that I voided my warranty.
I would like to know if your truck and your friend are stock or if it has been modified. Please.
