Great Job! I manage a larger automotive repair facility and I also have a 2021 Silverado with this problem. Did my research and as of 03/21/24 the whole assembly is on back order and the fine folks at GM decided not to make this part a stand alone switch. So, I was able to find the whole assembly with the help of my GM supplier in a box that was not picked up or needed by the person that ordered it. Wholesale cost is $99.87 list 139.00. After watching this I am going to use your idea, My thought is also to build up the pin aera with a glue dot or tape, just something to give a little added structure or height. Thank You Again. I will update you when finished this weekend.
Happy to help! I got tired of having my orders with GM get cancelled because the main assembly was on backorder and I knew the problem was just with the switch itself so I decided to fix that part and see if it worked. It's been days now and I have not had that message come up again. Before the fix it would come up every single time I drove my truck.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, I'll be heading from Georgia to Connecticut to fix this on my mom's 2019 Silverado 1500 . She took it to 2 different Chevy dealers and paid over $400 just in diagnostic. Plus an estimate of $900 to replace 3 different parts I think is Bull crap . But thanks to you and all the forums online now I know what to do thanks again
Thank you, Thank you & Thank you. The Fix worked, It was driving me nuts. Today it just would not shift off. It took me a total of 30 minutes to take it apart and bend that wonderful metal piece and put it all back together.
Info I was getting so annoyed by the honking and having to shut off lights and radio thank you very much again I have a warenty but don't have a week to wait for the service dep to fix it
Thanks so much ...I took off the covers ....5 minutes...the switch . I lifted it as high as i could then cut with a sharp pocket knife. To get the switch out And pulled out the switch..i bent the bar close to the hing point ...put the truck in drive while pushing down the pin in the shift mechanism.make sure one of the tires is blocked..reinstall the switch ...perfect 👌 again...thanks as far as splicing i don't b know if it is conected to a normally closed switch or normal closed 🤔 again thanks took 45 minutes mostly with getting the covers off and on!!
It's not only a Chevy issue, although I just got a 2022 Chevy Silverado with this issue my 2012 dodge charger has the same problem with a center shifter.
Super helpful video!! The issue was driving me crazy and this was a quick and easy fix. Thanks Justin!

Yo ty so much. My 2019 has been doing this for months and its so fn annoying. Im fixing this this weekend.
Dude you’re a life saver
I'm doing it in the morning 🎉🎉🎉😅thanks!!!
Looks like gm is still using those cheap switches. I thought they were past that problem
where I can buy the part?
This really works, fixed myself.
My 2019 Silverado was show shift to park issues then it won’t start even if I am do a jump cable won’t start
So if bending don't work.....test with a jump wire. My switch was ,bad...cut wire, wrap together and tape. God bless
Are you able to share a video or photos of this method
Yep. That was my plan B in case the switch was completely dead. Luckily I didn't have to go that route.
Did you just cut them below the soder points and put them together?
Going to try that now - truck under warranty but it makes me money and can't be without my truck for days in diagnostics.
Thank you very much 👍🏻 شكرًا جزيلًا لك
It did just what I needed thank you for the great infinity

Has anyone spliced it?
I have a 2022 gmc 2500 hd with the exact same issue. Could it be the same parts as the 21?
Yep. Exactly the same parts.
God bless you 🙏🏻🎉
Man I try it on my today and did not work for my truck
I got a 22 baby max
You probably need a new switch. It's probably toast. Mine was still working, just needed more pressure on the button.
Ty you so much bro I did it save me money
