    All in, delivered to my location in Canada, the BoS BNPB is 425 MooseAntlerShavings, while the Rogue OPB Bare Steel 45 lb is 539 MooseAntlerShavings. For something you are going to use for a decade or five...
    However, I think what's missing in this comparison is that the bar actually was intended to provide, I believe, a more affordable competition style powerbar (narrow collars, 20 kg), vs competing with a 45 lb OPB. This is to give powerlifting focused IPF competitors something closer to what they would have to use in competition. In that case, comparing it to the 20 kG OPB (competition width collars), it's 209 MooseAntlerShavings cheaper delivered than the zinc OPB 20kg bar, and 350 MooseAntlerShavings cheaper than the SS OPB 20kg. So in that case, the BoS BNPB is more compelling choice for that athlete looking to get into IPF competition who can't afford the extra 209-350 MAS for a Rogue OPB 20kg, or even more compelling, the extra 1000+ MAS for an Eleiko IPF bar! A good solution for a cheaper 20kg training bar, for high school weight rooms, etc.
    If they could just solve the knurl issue that you, Brandon and Coop have pointed out, it would be compelling. Would like to know the true real world longevity of brass vs bronze. Anyone out there wear out brass bushings on a bar ?

    • @GlucksGym
      @GlucksGym  2 года назад +4

      They told me they're working on the knurling issue so we'll see what comes of that.

    I just recently got one and love it so far. I also went to my basement just now to check the knurling with my phone light - I don't see inconsistencies in the knurling on mine. I also live close enough to Indianapolis that I was able to get the showroom price and save a little $ on an already incredible value. My main objective with this bar is for deadlifting, but it feels great for squatting and I'll eventually use for pressing also. I haven't felt an OH bar before, but I think this is a great bar, regardless of the price point. Sure, most of the time we get what we pay for, but sometimes on similar products it may just come down to preference. I would say to anyone looking for a power bar that this one is a very solid choice, the knurling & 29 mm diameter feels awesome, and I doubt you will regret this over another option. I have been very impressed with my experience with all things BOS thus far.

    Would love to hear your thoughts or reviews on Hoist as a company and others in this category of fitness equipment. I’m thinking Life fitness, Nautilus, Technogym, etc. I’m specifically interested in commercial style 45 degree Leg Press, Functional Trainer, and bench alternatives to rep or rogue.

    Idk what it is, and I might be wrong about it, but I feel like once you make the jump from bargain basement to $200 you might as well go all the way to $300 instead for the extra quality that it gives you. I would just feel bad paying $200 when I could have an Ohio Bar for $300 (pre-tax and shipping).

    • @GlucksGym
      @GlucksGym  2 года назад

      Well you hit it a little but there. Pre tax and shipping it's over 300 and if you think about it as a percentage you're talking 50% more before all that. I know it's an extreme example but think about 50% for a car, groceries, various other gym purchases. It all adds up and can really make a significant difference so I think that's where I lot of people make there's choices

      @@GlucksGym Yeah, I get that point. My mindset is that it is a special, one time purchase so I should get the best (within reason). • @brandonnegley7432
      @brandonnegley7432 Год назад

      @GlucksGym I guess both. :) Would you recommend the bells power lifting bar or multi purpose bar if it's my only bar. And also, in general, would you recommend a power lifting bar or a "multi purpose" bar if I only have one bar? If that makes sense. I'll use it mainly for bench, squats and DL, but may do some cleans ect. I've only ever used whatever the gym has and haven't really paid attention. Now that I'm building my home gym, I can't decide with so many options. I also considering getting the Ohio power bar instead. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks

    • @GlucksGym
      @GlucksGym  Год назад +2

      Oh man you're in for a treat and some trouble 😂 it's an addicting hobby. If you're primarily going to squat bench and deadlift I'd go with a power bar but the cleans might beat up your chest.
      A multi purpose bar can become difficult to grip as your deadlifts get higher in weight.
      If you can afford an Ohio power bar it's a better bar than the barenaked and still a great value. It really comes down to price. There's a lot of great bars out there now and more coming all the time

    I've had two of these in my home gym for 2 years, i have 4 Eleikos and 3 Rogue as well.
    This is by far the prefered for squats and heavy work for low reps due to the more grip than a Ohio Power bar.
    Yes you might bang the uprights the first many times, but hey fix your walkout and no problem... which you should do anyway. 😊
