Greetings to the gentleman who created this beautiful RUclips on Melbourne trams as Melbourne and myself retired to the suburb of Rosebud . I knew Melbourne had one of the best public tram systems in the world and we should be very proud that we got a good transport system with our trams, I did not realize that our W class tram was exported around the world. I knew they were running on the streets of Seattle in the US because I like the series Fraser one of the episodes. The two Crane Brothers are walking up the main street and in the background is the class tram with its bell ringing and running along the streets in Seattle, but to you sir well done. It was a beautiful interesting. RUclips and I thoroughly enjoyed it yours, Jeff Melbourne, Rosebud.

My father used to work at MMTB as a technical officer at the Preston Workshops depot. He commissioned the first orange trams and the first articulated trams back in 1970s to early 90s. He still talks about it. It certainly bought back some childhood memories. Thanks.

if you dont know, the "g class tram" is now called the f class because of the name of flexity class tram and there is also a f2 class

    • @bowandarrow688

No. That's probably the entire reason they kept it the G Class in the first place.

I love how in the early 1900s they were just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. "okay lets make this one a little longer" "okay lets give this one two doors instead of four" "okay lets change the windshield on this one"
"sir this is the 15th new tram in the last 5 years"

COMENG is pronounced Com Enj. They were located in Dandenong, MMTB had many arguments and lawsuits with Comeng, as the latter was trying to hand off substandard trams. Thats why the went bust in the end.
