When they ask if you know someone in America even though you are not going for that person should you say you do know someone if you have a partner but are not visiting for that?
Yes..if they're a fiance or spouse (legally married to them) definitely mention it because either way they'll know it if you lie, if they're a boyfriend/ girlfriend just say you have a friend there if you're visiting a differentperson or visitingfor other purposes.
@@fiffibytom ok will they deny him if he wants to go to school in America but will sponsor himself and since I'm in America or can he say he knows me but hes coming to get his education? The situation is we are planning to get married but not at the moment until we arrange everything and the wedding will be in Ghana. I was also told I can marry him in Ghana then bring him to America with me. But the purpose of his visit would be to go to school to start enhance his business in Ghana.
No they'll not deny him let him apply for F-1 visa (student visa) as long as he has the qualifications especially enough proof of funds to sponsor himself and strong ties back home to prove that he'll return to Ghana after his studies, he will get approved.

Would you suggest to apply for
B1-B2 travel visa and use it as a test run to get to know each other better?
or apply for K-1 visa fiancé or marriage visa right away? Also do you feel like getting to know each other on that visa is moving too fast and rushing the relationship?
I'd suggest a B1/B2 visa for that purpose because you can't apply for Fiancé visa unless you're engaged, and getting engaged/married just to get a visa is not right and may cause problems. It should happen when both parties are ready for that commitment IMO! All the best to you and your partner 🧡
