Excellent Video Jarrod, very detailed information! I remember back when I talked to you about this amp and asked you for your personal/professional opinion I had to have one. I waited 7 months for it and got it before Mesa Raised the prices and it was definitely worth the wait! What a Versatile amp, I run mine through a Mesa 4x12 and Mesa 2x12, it's a Beast, and what an amazing Clean channel as well. It took some time to dial it in, " For me" but worth it in the end.
Hey Johnny, great hearing from you as always. Thanks for commenting. Congratulations on this awesome amplifier. I knew you would love it. There are so many ways to dial it in. I love the endless possibilities.
I just picked up a used JP-2C at a great price today; traded my Powerball; been an ENGL user for many years, jamming on the amp at practice tomorrow--searching out some staple golden settings I can lean on for the time being. Fun amp.
Coming from a Mark IV being able to have independent high gain channels was phenomenal. Channel 3 on the mark iv was pulling double duty and always a compromise. And as you said it’s great to have full independence in those channels and their gain structures as I prefer my rhythm a little more saturated and my leads more dynamic. One thing I do miss from the Mark iv is the incredibly aggressive and wide mid range.
I totally agree with you...I played/owned the Mark 1, Mark 3, Studio Preamp, this amp is like all 3 wrapped into one. So versatile! If you want Channel 1 a bit dirtier than it can be, Flex-Five driver with a bit of grit. Well , now you have a 4 Channel Amp! 😁🎸
I dont need any more reasons to buy this amp, this amp is probably the best metal amp out there! i just need to find a 3.000 euros and when i do that ,mesa boogie needs to finally do their products available again in europe! hahahaha, great video btw sounds sick as expected!
I have that cabinet, a 2004 Mesa Recto 2x12 horizontal with Celestion Vintage 30s. I also have a Mesa Single Rectifier series 2 50watt solo head the series 2 that has 5 modes on 2 channels. I wonder if there's any pedal like a graphic EQ that's going to help my recto to sound more like the Boogie Mark 2C+?
Both high gain channels are not the same. They have different preset gain settings. Per John Petrucci Gain Channel 2 has more gain Here is what the manual says: These are the two high gain Channels and they are identical save for one small difference; Channel 3 is ever so slightly higher gain due to a higher value for the internally preset (missing as compared to a MARK II-C+) VOLUME 1 Control. This difference optimizes Channel 3 for single note Lead work and makes the response a little more fat and round sonically and more legato and creamy feel-wise. Certainly either Channel can be used for any manner of high gain application-or even lower gain application as well-but for John, and many other players that need a high gain Crunch rhythm and a soaring Lead sound, you will most often find that Channel 2 is great for Rhythm and Channel 3 is better tuned for Lead.
They don't carry Mesa boogies no where close to where I live. I've watched a lot of videos on the mark 5 and was thinking about getting one of those until I seen this video. Are there a lot of major differences? Basically all I'm looking for is to go from country/blues all the way up to thrash, and a good recording amp. Nice playing by the way.
I would love one if I had the extra money and if I was in an original hard rock and metal band. If I could sell my modified Dual Rec maybe. It doesn't do classic rock and 80s or 90s as well? My original stuff is mostly heavy but our cover/original band is a mix and does older classics by Rush, The Police, The Cars, and then we do a lot of 90s heavy rock and metal. It would be cool an original only rock/metal amp. That's why I went with your recommendation of the Revv Generator.
Convenience is killing tone. Those who sacrifice the integrity of their tone for a cheap price point digitally is contributing to the holocaust of metal music.

I am getting this amp next week. I have a Mesa 2x12 vertical and I am so stoked to get this amp. It’s going to be INCREDIBLE TONE!!!!!
Congratulations!

Are u still liking jp2c? Any problems? What did u pay foe amp used?@@guyfromthatthing1017
Yes... amp is one of the best. But your ability to make it sound great, plus playing skills.... that is a class act!

Totally agree Jarrod. I want two identical high gain channels that I can dial for rhythm and lead. The Triaxis was perfect for this.
Hey Steve, thanks for commenting. I really wish more amp builders would do this. It just makes more sense
Great video! I appreciate your time doing these types of videos
This thing was recently added to the QC and even there I see why it is so good!

Thanks for commenting. I hope you get a chance to get one of these amplifiers. They are amazing.
Awesome video bro . I’m loving my new JP-2C , I got a week ago.Thanks for the video . I learned a lot.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Congratulations on the JP2C. It's such a great amp
I absolutely love mine. I’ve been running it with my Fractal FM3 in 4 cable method.
How’s the shred feature on the jp2c ?
"You have every opportunity to make this amp sound as good as you can!" Money quote about JP-2C. Thanks.

Great video! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
you forgot the 6th thing. Tonex pedal just came out and I will be able to buy profiles of it from you
Great video! 👍
It's a great amp but I wish it had both the MKIIc+ and MKIV voicing options in each of the gain channels.
That would've been so cool!

Hi. Is this Signature Mesa boogie JP similar to the old ones Mk 2 ? Thanks
Similar in tone with additional features
Jarod. How would you compare this awesome amp to the Engl Savage mk2?
They are soooo different but very good. I'm gonna compare them in tomorrow's viewer comments video
@TONEWARSgearshow Great! Thank you!

Thanks so much for commenting and for the support. Congratulations on the revv I know you will love it.
@@TONEWARSgearshow You are one of the most authentic people on the tube - thanks brother.
@@Bognerman14 Thank you so much for the kind words. Much appreciated. I always try to do my best
I know you hate answering questions like this, But if you could only have two of all of your amps. Which two would you keep?
Hmmmmm today....Stealth and...Revv
@@TONEWARSgearshow Great choices.
dont you have anything bigger than a 212 to run that monster thru ?
I wish
You already know what I think.
It sounds great, and I like all the features. ( Everything else about it... I DO NOT like. ) 😑
Don't judge me, I sold my JP2-C and got a kemper stage
That cannot be forgiven. It is unpardonable sin! LOL
@@NaturalAquarium I redeemed myself by purchasing Jarrod's JP2-C Kemper pack, it sounds awesome!

You do you. Whatever works
I have a LEAST favorite thing about this amp
I can’t fucking afford it 😭
I would have liked to see a comparison between the Roadking/Roadster vs JP2C
If I get my hands on those amps, I'll do it
