Hey Lucas, I just discovered your videos and they are helping a lot in understanding the relations between all those models!
I personally own a Mesa Quad Preamp + Strategy 500 (it's WAY too powerful and heavy!) a custom neodymium cab since 12 years. I bought them as a teenager for the huge metal sound and now I'm appreciating them also for different reasons as an adult. I think that the Quad is one of the most versatile Mesa amps and I'm never gonna give them away! Even if I don't have enough time (and space) to play with them, every time I still get new amazing tones.
Unfortunately there is not much information left on the internet about the Quad, and the strategy 500 is quite forgotten too.
I know from the manual that the Quad packs a Mark IIC and a Mark III on two parallel channels, and with a foot switch it is also possible to mix them. I'd like to better understand where it places on the list, if it's a true IIC/III and which revision or if there are substantial tonal differences. I also always wondered what are the differences between a Strategy 400 and a 500.
It is nice to have a place where to share knowledge on old these models that would otherwise be forgotten :)
    Keep It on!

Hey Lucas, I recently bought the 100w Multiwatt Dual Rec after watching your history video.... I'm gonna have to stop watching your channel as it's getting expensive!!! Bravo, man.

Great video man! Really enjoyed. It would be great if you could make a video about mesa less known series. F-50, F-30, subway, rocket etc. They sound awesome, but don't get as much attention as mark and recto ones. I personally own 20-watt mesa subway rocket combo, and it has a magical "contour" switch. When it's on, I put amp into 4x12 and it really kicks ass! It sounds huuuuge! How is that possible? Would be REALLY COOL to dig dipper into history!! Thanx a lot for your videos!

They made 200 Princeton Boogies probably. They made 2500 Mark I 12"combos and heads as well as 300 15" combos. A lot of that production was in the last couple of years. 3000 Mark I reissues and 600 Limited Edition Kingsnake models.

Great video and recap of the Mark series. I love my V, and even side by side the JP I don't feel the need to buy it as they sound so close. I second the midi note though for future boogie heads.

Great video! Thanks man! I just randomly thought how I don't know the history of the mark series and I knew it would be interesting, I just didn't think anything good would actually pop up in a search. This is perfect! Well done sir
