Sorry Patrick, hate to tell you but your alzheimers meds are NOT working bro.....Jon is still bringing his ultra Sid the Sloth game super hard. Gotta talk to your doctor and up your meds man so you can remember better.
Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.
DC reels for the most part take the thumb education out of the equation. You can achieve the reels max distance with little to no drama.....but some reels can cast further but you gotta go way down in the brakes and know when to thumb (but you're teetering on the edge of blowing up....DC's manage that "edge" and will throw a curl of line up over the frame and still not over run....(You can cast further with some dc reels if you cast with the line exiting the top of the frame not thhe levelwind lol ) They're also very fun....just don't stick them next to a big magnet......
Tackle Advisors I have some DC reels and the casting distance is what I don’t like about them. My no DC reels seem to cast much further with no issues. However, just the sound makes me want to fish with the DC LoL
If you want max distance with a reel you are gonna have to come off the breaks, DC or not. I have several dc reels and of course they cast farther with a educated thumb, with the possibility of blowing up
I have an older chronarch 201e6 I fish with 1 brake on and spool tension set to where the spool doesn’t move side to side and I can get amazing casting distance with something as light as a senko. I think the only reason I can successfully cast with that low of settings is becoming good with my surface iron reels 🤣
@@plfishing5076 here's a somewhat useless yet interesting piece of information......Throwing z man senkos (because they hold up better casting on a grass field) The old white or red brake shoe antares out performed every other flagship..Steez sv tw, mgxtreme..but almost 20 feet.....but placed second or third when using other types of baits.....(20 casts each measured properly) With a tranx 400 and 3oz tady's I can hit 150 yards consistantly. I try to buy equipment at a minimum of $100, just to limit what I can buy pretty much. But literally of all of my rods I remember the most and how good it felt to fish with/sensitivity/fighting a fish.... was a Berkley lightning rod i found broken in a lake. The tip was busted so I put a new one on but for some reason there was just something special about that $30 rod that even my $100 rods didn't have

Where I live, we have a creek less than a hundred yards from our house and ten years ago, you could catch 15+ largemouths a day, now if you catch two a month, that’s bragging rights. But the other day, I was wading out to free my line, that was snagged in a tree branch, slipped and fell hand-first onto a jagged, rusty piece of metal. One tetanus shot later, I’ve decided never to fish the crap hole again! Lol.
I was stationed in Abilene TX. for a good while. I missed trout fishing but I got better at Bass fishing. With Bait casting reels I learned you really do get what you pay for. I spent so much time trying to figure out my cheap combo and undoing birds nests....I went to a Bass pro shop and one of the employees helped me get the best reel for my style of fishing. It wasn’t $700 though. I think it was just under $200. Sadly I don’t get out fishing much anymore and I’m back in WV so it’s back to trout. Poor gear is collecting dust in the garage.

if you look at his body language, he says smoke one as if he's going to go grab something he's looking at (probably some weed). hahahahaha if he was referring to bass, I don't think he would show that kind of body language. plus, look at those eye lids ! my man Jon b!!!!!!!!!
i rock a shimano curado i bought 7 or 8 years ago best reel ever never had problems. First bait caster i ever had and will probably only buy another shimano especcially with their customer service. I broke my reel 3 years ago out of warranty and they sent me a brand new new model.
For someone who already owns 10 500+ dollar rod and reel combo's.. i might just buy one on a sale for 500 bucks.. if not just for the sound.. Although a lot of my rods where 300+ dollar new.. i bought most for less then 100...
I mean if you can take care of things and keep them for how long they should actually be kept, it's not a terrible investment. When you fish almost everyday of your life and are truly passionate about it i dont see why i wouldn't get one if i could afford it.
As someone who almost exclusively fly fishes,( will break out a gear rod on a slow day Pike fishing) it doesn't seem Soo unreasonable ( expensive yes, I personally don't own any reel more than 300 or any rod including fly rods over 500) however it has a purpose with the chip unlike allot of the 1000+ dollar fly reels that have an identical drag system to the 200 dollar reel where the bigger price tag comes down to minor fit and finish details. Just my 2c
It's actually not the first DC for all types of fishing, the Exsence DC was in 2012-2013... it was designed for seabass, but works for everything. I was able to get really good results with lures below 3/8oz which was a first for DC reels too because before that 3/8oz and below was the weak point of DC reels. But salt water guys have had a DC options for a while now.
First bro that reel is sick in every way I'm just getting into the dc reels here Australia I'm in Victoria to. The high country I fish Murray cod and we throw big top water lures I've the curado dc 150. I love because at night you don't have to watch out as much when the lure hits the water before I can stop it with my thumb as much! before a big blow out!! It's made it so much better to fish at night but it's not easy to get a dc reel. Australia and if you do there not cheep curado dc $450 here that's why I got one so far but some thing like yours that would cost me $1,300 then they up to $1,800. As or ways great job on making this vid to show us and you are like me a bit we like nice fishing gear will make catch more!!!! no but it helps a lot with the confidence side of things.
Annnnd this is why we drove as far we did for the HQ opening and the premiere. I still didn't drive as far the old boy who came from northern New Mexico or the guy who flew from Illinois there's even a couple that came from Louisiana. My drive wasn't even two hours
😜 NOPE! I fish with some nice equipment but to be honest you can actually catch the same amount of fish with cheap fishing equipment... anyone else agree?
Depends on the situation. You'll catch just as many dinks, but using a cheap rod isn't going to amount to equal hook ups on quality fish. Skill plays a lot in that too more than anything though.
If I had 700$ drop in my lap for a reel, I'd get either an Aldebaran BFS '16, or a calcutta conquest BFS . I like throwing extremely light baits with UL gear, and that's what BFS is for baitcasting. I have a Scorpion BFS xg, on a cheap ass 4'6" UL spincast rod, and I love it. It's like fishing with a feather, casting one handed.
your not as ugly as i remember, good job
I’m trying my best to avoid the ugly

4:20, jon you really need to chill out when setting a hook 😂 fishes lips are gunna be on the end
if you don't absolutely swing on fish wyd
I genuinely appreciate how incredïble you are and your work! Thank you for a job well done *Scriptechie*
When you said let’s smoke one did you mean devils lettuce or a bass ? 👍😂
if you look at his body language, he says smoke one as if he's going to go grab something he's looking at (probably some weed). hahahahaha if he was referring to bass, I don't think he would show that kind of body language. plus, look at those eye lids ! my man Jon b!!!!!!!!!
i rock a shimano curado i bought 7 or 8 years ago best reel ever never had problems. First bait caster i ever had and will probably only buy another shimano especcially with their customer service. I broke my reel 3 years ago out of warranty and they sent me a brand new new model.
I’m the kid who came up and hugged you at the meet up
Gayyyyy
@@HeadHoncho727 Jesus...grow up already.
@@HeadHoncho727 your dad seems to be OK with it.

I would like to hug him....
It was so awesome meeting you Saturday!! A true dream come true
$700 could get you a good 2 rod n reel combo but I just can't see myself paying $700 just for a reel
Just my 2c
ive always spent more on rods
Lars Vegas I could
2:27 a fish literally followed that craw all the way to the surface, blew up on it, and missed it and Jon didn’t even realize it.
The boy Nassad nah, it was my shitty casting 😂
“It sounds like ultron and a terminator having sex”

It's actually not the first DC for all types of fishing, the Exsence DC was in 2012-2013... it was designed for seabass, but works for everything. I was able to get really good results with lures below 3/8oz which was a first for DC reels too because before that 3/8oz and below was the weak point of DC reels. But salt water guys have had a DC options for a while now.
Saltwater guys laugh at $700
Try a Dogfight or a Stella
How about a Tiagra or an International 👌🏻
Or dont flaunt your money like a douchebag👌
Stylan DOKES not about flaunting money lol
I gotta vann staal
Peyton Tran - yah exactly, saltwater gear gets crazy expensive
@@stylandokes346 or don't be butt hurt by the fact some people have money.
Just stopped at the googan headquarters it was amazing jon got the bandito bug excited to use it
Everyone: let's go fishing
John: 💩 and i have a 700$ reel ima flex on you with
First bro that reel is sick in every way I'm just getting into the dc reels here Australia I'm in Victoria to.
700 bucks! I think the bass won’t bite just because they’re laughing at you for spending that much for a bass reel! 😜
Shut up
6:19 literally a fish right behind Jon
When you can’t catch good enough fish for a video so you show off your $700 dollar reel
Juicy reel, juicy dink’s... the DC system sounds so cool when you cast
Don't change the brakes on your car just buy this. I will stop anything. And it cost more than a brake job
Skill plays a lot in that too more than anything
though.
I've noticed that noise from the reel for a while, glad I finally know what it is
Short answer: no
The p stands for PE, the Japanese “braid” material that is thinner than any conventional braid and used in place of big brand braid by anglers.
you can buy that reel for 550 lmaoo
alex atack he bought it over a year ago
If I had 700$ drop in my lap for a reel, I'd get either an Aldebaran BFS '16, or a calcutta conquest BFS . I like throwing extremely light baits with UL gear, and that's what BFS is for baitcasting. I have a Scorpion BFS xg, on a cheap ass 4'6" UL spincast rod, and I love it. It's like fishing with a feather, casting one handed.
I dont care if its $700, I'm not buying a reel for that much period.
You basically said the same thing twice
BWbassin found the lews guy
You are right but these guys fish for a living so they gonna want it to last longer
I paid less money for my first car!
Great vid I can’t wait for the Never Stop Tour 2!!!
i have used spinning reels forever and i have hated casting but this thing makes me drool
Keep Filming Never Stop.
LMAO almost ripped his lips off on the first fish lol. Reel seems legit!
Who else remembers when John was sponsored by Shimano?!
You need to do like a Japan fishing tour
