This is such a unique performance of the concerto that I think I have to listen to it a few more times to form my judgement. First thought is interesting, then at times it felt a bit strange, but I enjoy the new take on bringing out all the voices no other pianist brings out. Thank you for uploading such an interesting performance.
Totally captivating and enjoyable. Don’t really have the words to say how very much I loved this. Sir András is working and making music at a sublime level, and is living proof that an orchestra and soloist do not necessarily need a “god” up front waving a little stick. Beautiful and unique performance. Reminds much of Cortot. Is it just me or is Schiff becoming more erratic as he ages? I find it very beautiful.

Quite bizarre performance of a very famous concerto. It would be better to have a conductor because the tempo varied a lot during the performance.
Désolé de ne pas suivre les admirateurs : Schiff est certes un grand connaisseur mais pourquoi diable vouloir absolument diriger depuis le piano ce concerto ? C’est au détriment de la précision pianistique et rythmique (nombreuses et fréquentes), et aussi orchestrale de l’OCL pourtant de bonne tenue habituellement! Dommage !
