  • Yes, i really paid just £200 for this MG ZS with only 56,000 miles on it!
    Today i am tackling a common complaint on the MG ZS - saggy & detached door cards and headliner...But whilst i'm sorting these issues out, i'm going to add a bit of a 'Johnny style twist'...
    Enjoy!

    Wow, once again you never cease to amaze ! the amount ot detail work you go into to improve your cars, it's no wonder you seem to sell everything you deal in. Can't be many people out there who are willing, or able to do the resto. you do on older cheaper cars. well done.

    Interesting vlog again Johnny 👍🏻 i personally liked the door card material upgrade straight off as it looks so much better than standard. I didn't know if i would like the roof liner material but once fitted inside the car, i thought it was an good choice & another nice upgrade. I have 2 roof liner repairs to do myself on both my cars as its a common problem on Golfs. I have some old stock acoustic carpet left over from my days of car stereo installs & looking to use that. Inspired again seeing this today. Look forward to the next vlog. All the best 👍🏻

      Cheers Andy! It’s certainly been a bit of a ‘Marmite’ episode so far but I genuinely really like the finish! I’m glad to hear that this video has inspired you to deal with your own headliner…in my opinion a dropped headliner is virtually unbearable! Best of luck with it!

    Johnny, when you put that crushed velvet on I was like oh my god that will look awful, but once it was in the car with all the fixings back in, it actually didn't look that bad! Good job with the door cards, I see so many cars online for sale with saggy door cards, just shows with a bit of patience and flair how you can improve a car interior!

      Generally I would have used the same carpet liner on the headliner however with the dark seats here, I think it may have been too much so wanted to keep it light grey…however light greys were a bit hard to find when I was filming this episode so I had to think outside of the box a little, but I’m very pleased with the results!

      It’s a really versatile covering material. I’ve used it in lots of applications and it always looks very smart once trimmed in, although I get that a lot of people who have watched this video may not be familiar with it so may think it’s a weird choice but I’ll try and demonstrate the finish better in a later episode!

    there IS method in his madness you know, a car that`s been featured on you tube, although nowhere near being featured on T.V status, is ALWAYS going to fetch MORE than a regularly advertised car like for instance "autotrader", also all the TLC is shown in the video, so the rrp is going to be higher, clever guy, and i like your skill and professionalism...............

    The roof card material looked so much better in the car, as for the door cards you were right the darker material looked great. I have a question though, What glue did you use on the roof liner? You used a tin glue on the door cards but a spray can on the roof I just wanted to know what sort it was. 👍👍👍👍👍

    • @JohnnyGetsCash
      @JohnnyGetsCash  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks. On the headliner / the carpet material for the doors I used a spray contact adhesive. I only used the thicker, liquid type of CA on the door cards themselves as I need a heavier bond there due to the deeper contours of the arm rests

  • @davidsmith6001
    @davidsmith6001 9 месяцев назад +1

    You went as far as taking the head liner out which was the right call. I think you should have went a little farther and did the sun roof cover since it was right there and not much more work to fix it. In the end if your happy with it that is all that matters.

    I love your channel but the materials you have used in these 'upgrades' are absolutely vile!! I can see your point of it being a cheap car and not wanting to spend too much money on it but jesus christ this has been turned in to a car that would be sold in the autoparts section of a B&M!!

      It’s impossible to please everyone, I know this. I’m really happy with the finish and know it’s a lot better than the original faded, stained and worn out material.
