This list fails in it's statement of "Budget," and misses several true budget cinema cameras, instead going into mid tear cinema cameras.

@@AirwolfArchive There are two requirements of a Cinema camera that is really going to be used for narrative cinema work by modern standards. First it needs to have the ability to use cinema grade codecs, and those are either Prores or a RAW variant. Second it should support modern DCI formats. For the first the camera doesn't need to do those formats internally, but that ultimately means an additional expense. From least to most expensive body only and not including potential sales: Pocket 4k (Prores & Braw) - $1295 internal, Panasonic S5 (Prores internal, Raw external) - $1798, Sony FX30 (Requires external recorder for both Prores and RAW) - $1798, Panasonic S5II (Prores internal, Raw external) $1998, Blackmagic Pocket 6k Pro (Prores & Braw) $2535. While there are other options outside of these, almost all will either cost more to get functional or have workflow limitations. One thing not talked abotu is that if one is grading for cinema then they are likely going to get Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve, which is included with both of the Blackmagic options mentioned here, knocking $300 off the over all expense. Again this list is for the best budget cameras for true Narative Cinema purposes. If ones goal is something else then other camera options might be better.

@@Mund0Geek I had made an initial response to @AirwolfArchive earlier, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be showing, currently. A true budget cinema camera for cinema purposes should support the following: DCI 4k or greater resolutions, Prores or RAW potential. Technically they should also support true cinema frame rates of 24fps, 25fps in addition to 23.976
      Blackmagic Pocket 4k (Prores & Braw internal) - $1295
Panasonic S5 (Prores internal, RAW external) - $1798
Sony FX30 (Needs an external recorder for both Prores and RAW) - $1798
Panasonic S5 IIX (Prores internal, RAW external)- $2198
Blackmagic Pocket 6k Pro (Prores & Braw internal) - $2535
Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K (Braw internal) - $2595
Canon C200 (RAW internal, Prores external) - $3,499.00
Those are the 7 best budget cinema cameras currently, with various sensor options that can deal with Super16, MFT, Super35 & 135 format (Full Frame). They are all a minimum of 4k, and all are perfect for narrative film making, and all cost under $3500 for the core body. One can easily start shooting with any of these for under $2000 in additional accessories (aka At least 1 lens, some basic lights, a decent tripod, media to record with and a copy of DaVinci Resolve (best bang for the buck software for editing & grading)
