    The only camera I have at the moment takes pictures that look like a 2008 cell phone picture. It’s crazy how far trail cameras have come. Love the smart zones too. My last card swap, I had 1900 pictures of a branch.

      The videos on these are so nice. I run almost all of them on video mode now. Amazing how much you can learn compared to a picture.

    I have an Edge 2 Pro, gotta say the images that show up on the app are pretty bad (regardlessif day or night). They look like they are taken with a 5MP camera. To get HD images you'll have 5 free downloads and then have to pay for any others. I would argue that my Base Camp cameras take better images AND I can pull from an SD card.

    Can it be used without a subscription? And if so how would you retrieve the pics? Or how much internal memory?

    Ive been thinking about getting the 2 pro and a lot of the reviews im reading are saying the picture quality is terrible. To its credit there are folks that say its great. Any ideas why the dispersion in opinions?

    So if I get the Pro I'm limited to the $22.99 a month plan? Or can I still do the $12.99 a month?

    Hey I was looking for a security camera but looking at these cell cams. They should have rechargeable battery pack instead of 8-16 batteries
    Nice tutorial

      They do have rechargeable packs as an add on. I just got one in the mail. I’m excited to try it out. Should save a lot of money long term!

    First off great review! I’ve been using Moultrie Wireless cams since the 7000 series. You almost lost me at the beginning, as I wouldn’t describe the original Edge as being over all reliable. The trigger speed is horrendous and signal lacks the same ability as Tactacam. Due to those I’ve been waiting for several iterations to be released before I give the Edge line another try.
    I like the new options they’ve added to help cut out wasted photos/battery life. I would’ve like to see a test of trigger speeds to make me feel better about that but I’ve heard they have improved.

      That’s interesting feedback on the OG edge. Curious if anyone else chimes in but they have been bombproof for me and I’m really satisfied with the video quality especially. The new cams are even better. I’ve still got a couple 7000 series in the rotation as well. I’m not sure I’ll get around to doing another performance based vid on the new ones specifically but maybe I’ll try and incorporate it into a different video.

    These look awesome...unfortunately for me, where I hunt I usually don't get cell service or it's very spotty.

      @NextStepOutdoors  Месяц назад +1

      I still run some regular trail cams for that exact reason. Plenty of areas that have little to no service.

      @@NextStepOutdoors I hunt a lot of public land and I often put trail cameras out on public land. You should do a video on tricks to help safeguard your gear while being left on public land.
      I’ll leave trail cameras, feeding equipment (tubes, auto feeders), barrels for feeding bears, tree stands and ground blinds set up on public land for weeks at a time.
      Some tricks I use;
      1. I secure my bear bait barrels to trees with lock and chain or aircraft cable.
      2. My spots are usually deep in the bush behind thick cover.
      3. When placing trail cams, I will often bring one climbing stick and use it to put the camera high up n a further back tree out of reach to anyone who happens to find it (also good for bears who are nitrous for chewing trail cams).
      I am thinking about opening up my cameras and gluing in air tag trackers to my cameras as well.
      Over the years I have only lost one camera to theft. Lost way more to bears eating them.

      @@robertcumming2035 what state do you hunt? Funny you suggest that video topic. I’m gearing up to get all my public land cams deployed this next week and planned on making a video specifically about how to prevent theft. I’ve lost 3 in my life to other people. Two were the only 2 I’ve ever setup at ground level (python locked still). The other one was shot out of the tree with a shotgun 🤦🏼‍♂️ hang them high and lock them and you’ll rarely have issues.
      I’m starting to hunt PA more where there are lots of bears. Have yet to have one mess with a cam tho.
