Red Sox fan from AZ... Actually was able to attend this game and was sitting in the outfield in absolute disbelief with the start of the game. One of my most memorable baseball experiences ever

How bad was it? I heard people were leaving in like the 5th inning. Like 3 hours in and only in the 5th inning

Honestly I feel like this London Series is being under hyped by MLB. They need to push it as hard as the NFL is pushing their multiple European games per season
The series played at the London Stadium so far seemed to go over flawlessly
The UK is a ripe market for baseball fandom. Only older folks seem to care about cricket in the UK these days, and baseball is much more accessible to follow as a new fan, IMO

I have been saying this. MLB should follow the nfls path with having multiple series per season in a foreign country. Over the course of 5-10+ years the fandom will grow a ton. The UK or Netherlands would be great, I also think Mexico would be a success too. (Easier to pull off and a stronger fan base) would also be amazing to see MLB try South America like a Brazil or Argentina, I could see potential in those two countries. Neither have been largely exposed to baseball or cricket, so the market for a bat and ball sport should be open.

The irony being that the UK still uses feet a whole lot.

We use non-metric measures all the time. The need for metric units is for precision.

I don't understand sending the most popular teams. I understand MLB wants the game to grow, but I mean baseball is baseball, whether it's the Yankees or the A's playing over there, what difference does it make? Why do they wanna take away home games from their most passionate fanbases... this is a reward for that?
And why do they like sending rivalries over there? NYY/BOS, CHC/STL, PHI/NYM... these are those fanbases biggest games of the year, and with everyone playing everyone now, it limits how often you see your divisional rivals... makes no sense to take these games away from us. It's almost like, maybe MLB just doesn't care much about their true and lifelong fans Idk...
