  • The Omega Seamaster 2254.50 is an icon. Beloved by watch fanatics for good reason. It looks great, very distinctive dial and bracelet, and extremely well made. At 41mm wide, with a very thin case and 20mm, it is the perfect size and supremely confortable.

    They should bring back that model, with the co-axial upgrade. Outstanding watch as it is. Coolest-looking Seamaster.

      @@omegawatchfan It would be nice but the tradeoff would be a thicker case which lay as flat as the 2254 does.

  • @johnulmerRacing
    @johnulmerRacing 3 года назад +4

    I have this and the electric blue version (2255.80) that I rotate with my AT. Can't really decide which one I like the best. Of the SMP300 line, I definitely like this one (and the 2255) better than the newer ones. I've tried to talk myself into the newer models several times, but when it came down to it I couldn't pull the trigger. I knew I wouldn't stop wearing this one.
    You really should have shown the lume.

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  3 года назад +2

      I'll try to do a lume video at some point soon. These older models offer some things that are just simply not found in the new ones, namely a perfectly proportioned and slim case, and a truly timeless bracelet design. The newer ones do exude a more 'luxurious" appearance thanks to the dial material improvements, ceramic bezel insert, and improved bracelet construction. It would be amazing to see the 2254/2255 design incorporated in a new Seamaster. Maybe one day.

    • @johnulmerRacing

      @@omegawatchfan yes, for sure. Although, I do like the wave dial on the older ones better. The new wave dial looks kind of hokie. The ceramic bezel though, that thing is the tits.

    for me the best looking omega, besides the blue electric one, called "schwerty" in Germany :D I dont know, why they dont make watches like this anymore. If they would bring back a 25 years aniversity edition of this, it would be a nobrainer

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  2 месяца назад +1

      Absolutely agree. They could even reissue it with upgrades like ceramic bezel insert and dial. I would also hope they use a 2500 movement to keep the case thin like the original. Thanks for the info on the German name for the electric blue version!

    How did Omega manage to F##k up the new Seamasters when they got it so right here

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  3 года назад +2

      I also prefer many things about the older seamasters...my only guess is that more buyers are looking for flashier pieces and so they have moved to larger dimensions and bolder designs. It would be great if they use some of the new materials on a watch with the styling and dimensions of the older seamasters.

    had one but just didn't work for me personally. I really wanted on of these but after three months owning it wasn't meant to be. Font on bezel just a tad to. big for my liking and the speedy type bracelet was not for me. A 20 to 16 taper would have been perfect. Still a classic watch and prices going nuts. I went back to simple old 14060.

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  Год назад

      Thanks for your comment. At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal taste/preference. For a long time, I avoided these due to the large numbers on the bezel as well. But it grew on me. Although most people prefer tapered bracelets, for some reason I found the non-tapered 'Bond' bracelet to be the most comfortable for me. And tastes definitely change as well....I used to find the predecessor to these watches (the 200m) to be unattractive, but I have started to appreciate its quirks.
